Part 2
After Z said this, his eyes went black, and his entire body collapsed onto Zhu Ran once again.
Because of Z’s heavy pressure, the wounds on his back were pressed against the broken glass shards again, sending waves of pain through him.
However, at this moment, Zhu Ran needed this pain to snap him out of his dazed weakness.
He didn’t push Z away immediately but lay on the floor breathing heavily. Only after his body regained strength from getting enough oxygen did he push Z to one side.
Z’s body was covered in wounds, and his uniform had been shredded into rags by the explosion of spiritual power, essentially leaving him with nothing.
When Zhu Ran’s cool fingers touched the other party’s scorching body, he curled them slightly.
It was very hot, as if he were about to catch fire.
Zhu Ran frowned.
He got up and covered Z with a blanket first, then contacted the Xinggou official support directly.
“AI Assistant 0121, how may I serve you?”
“Hello, your delivery person Z entered a Spiritual Sea Berserk state and arrived at my home through a spatial channel.”
“Please send medical personnel to pick him up immediately.”
AI Assistant: “Please wait a moment.”
At the same time, Zhu Ran also contacted the reliable officer, Xiu Nai.
[Zhu: A delivery person from Xinggou broke into my home because his spiritual sea went out of control. I’ve contacted the Xinggou officials, but I’m a bit worried they won’t handle this properly. I’d like to seek your help.]
Being broken into for no reason and being injured because of the other party, Zhu Ran was angry at this moment.
Even though he knew Z didn’t mean it and had lost control, that wasn’t an excuse for the man to break into his home.
Furthermore, the fact that Xinggou’s spatial transport channel allowed a delivery person to enter and leave someone else’s room at will was far too unsafe.
Zhu Ran turned on the ventilation system to clear the scent from the room.
At the same time, he stood by the window and opened it, letting the cold night wind blow in.
The vines occupying an entire wall extended a branch to touch Zhu Ran’s ankle.
The vine segment that had just been torn into pieces by Z’s spiritual power was also tenaciously alive. After drinking some spiritual power water and growing, it completed its own splicing and reorganization, then wrapped itself around Zhu Ran’s wrist again.
It extended a tip to touch Zhu Ran, as if offering comfort.
“I’m fine.”
Zhu Ran touched the vine.
Aside from the injury on his back, being choked, getting a fright, and his home being made a mess, there was nothing seriously wrong.
Heh, typical.
His pajamas were covered in bloodstains, and the fluffy fabric was sticking to the wounds on his back, making it very uncomfortable.
Zhu Ran was just about to change his clothes and treat his wounds when the Xinggou AI sent a voice prompt:
“Hello, User Zhu. Upon receiving your feedback, relevant personnel are about to arrive near you via the spatial channel. Please be prepared.”
Not three seconds later, the Xinggou spatial channel opened.
With the bad example of Z falling on him from the channel, Zhu Ran looked toward that spot warily.
His muscles were tensed, and the vine at his wrist was poised to strike, ready to wrap the other party into a silkworm cocoon as soon as Zhu Ran gave the order.
With a light landing sound, a man appeared wearing a light gold shirt and casual trousers, draped in a white formal coat with gold trim. This outfit looked like he had been summoned in a hurry while resting at home.
His hair was a soft brown, and his eyes were also brown. The corners of his mouth were slightly upturned in what seemed like a smile, making it easy for people to feel favorable toward him.
He first glanced at Z, who was sleeping under the blanket, his expression slightly surprised.
Then he turned his gaze to Zhu Ran.
His smile made his eyes curve into crescents, effectively hiding his scrutiny.
“Hello, I am Lai Ze. I am the owner of the Xinggou APP.”
Just as Lai Ze was about to step forward, Zhu Ran took a defensive stance.
Lai Ze then stood still in place.
“You can check my information on the Star Network. I am definitely not a bad person.”
“Regarding the trouble our delivery person has caused you, on behalf of the Xinggou officials, I offer my deepest apologies.”
“Next, we will…”
Before Lai Ze could finish his sentence, there was a knock at Zhu Ran’s door.
“Zhu Ran, are you alright? It’s me, Xiu Nai.”
The other party’s voice couldn’t hide his panic.
Compared to Lai Ze, Zhu Ran was naturally more familiar with Xiu Nai and more willing to trust him.
So he asked, “Do you mind if I open the door first?”
Lai Ze smiled. “As you wish.”
Zhu Ran walked to the door to open it, only to find a person he didn’t recognize standing before him.
The man was wearing blood-stained clothes, and one arm was hanging limp at his side, seemingly broken.
Who was this?
Zhu Ran was alert and almost closed the door, but he heard the man speak in a familiar voice and tone of concern: “Zhu Ran, are you okay? Was the Xinggou delivery person who broke into your home Z?”
The man’s appearance was foreign to Zhu Ran, but both the way he spoke and his voice were very familiar.
Zhu Ran reached the answer in a moment: “Xiu Nai? Your face… and your injuries.”
Only then did Xiu Nai remember that when he had seen Zhu Ran before, he had been wearing a disguise device.
Today, an accident had occurred while he and His Majesty were dealing with a traitor. He hadn’t had time to put on his disguise, and His Majesty… naturally hadn’t either.
Xiu Nai said honestly, “Ah… that… I had a mission before, so I used a disguise.”
“I just finished the mission and got a bit injured. It’s no big deal.”
“Understood.”
Zhu Ran nodded in understanding.
He opened the door to let Xiu Nai in.
“Zhu Ran, why is your back covered in blood? Go treat it quickly so it doesn’t get infected.”
Zhu Ran’s complexion was very poor right now. Since his cold sweat had just dried, a few strands of hair were stuck to his cheek, making that face look even smaller and paler.
“Just a superficial wound, it’s fine.”
“By the way, you asked just now—the delivery person who came to my home through the spatial channel was indeed Z.”
Zhu Ran led Xiu Nai into his home.
He stood still and looked up, his green eyes as calm as an emerald lake.
“You know each other?”
Zhu Ran’s tone was faint and his expression was as usual, but Xiu Nai’s heart tightened at Zhu Ran’s question.
Silent pressure.
Xiu Nai really wanted to answer, ‘We know each other. Z is the Officer Vier you know, and he’s also the supreme ruler of the interstellar, Zefaer Suoye.’
But…
As Zefaer’s adjutant, Xiu Nai had no right to make any statements or explanations for Zefaer.
Everything would have to wait until Zefaer woke up to be decided.
“We know each other.”
Xiu Nai’s thoughts quickly turned a corner. “Z was participating in our mission, and through an oversight, his Spiritual Sea Berserk was triggered by the enemy.”
“I offer my deepest apologies for the trouble Z has caused you.”
Xiu Nai bowed deeply toward Zhu Ran.
The movement pulled at his wound, causing Xiu Nai to wince and suck in a breath.
Xiu Nai wasn’t lying; His Majesty had indeed participated in the mission and had indeed had his spiritual sea triggered into a berserk state due to the negligence of someone he trusted.
Not a single word was a lie.
However, Xiu Nai hadn’t expected His Majesty to find his way to Zhu Ran’s place.
Lai Ze had given His Majesty full authorization for the Xinggou spatial channels. His Majesty could have gone directly back to his own manor. Who knew… His Majesty had actually unconsciously come to Zhu Ran’s home and apparently even injured him.
Xiu Nai was filled with guilt.
“Officer Xiu Nai doesn’t need to apologize. We at Xinggou also bear responsibility for this.”
Lai Ze, who had been ignored, inserted himself into the conversation between Zhu Ran and Xiu Nai.
“There was a technical glitch in the spatial channel that caused an accident while Z was moving, leading him to Mr. Zhu Ran’s home. I have already arranged for technical staff to conduct a thorough investigation.”
These words undoubtedly provided cover for Xiu Nai and framed Z entering Zhu Ran’s home as an accident.
“Officer Xiu Nai is also quite badly injured. I’ve called a doctor. Let’s get treated together in a bit!”
