Chapter 103: I’m Not the Interloper!
Her thigh was suddenly bitten—it was both itchy and painful. Xie Qiang sucked in a breath of cold air and punched Hong Que on the head.
How can this guy be so narcissistic? I didn’t sincerely want to marry him either, okay!
“Hong Que, put me down!” she scolded, pulling at the youth’s fluffy red hair, trying to make him obey.
“I won’t!” Hong Que refused to let go of her leg. Though his voice was muffled, his attitude was very firm. “If you don’t promise me, you can forget about getting down for the rest of your life!”
Xie Qiang: ?
Can you be any more childish?!
Seeing that Hong Que wouldn’t let go, Xie Qiang pointed behind him. “Sen Ji is coming over.”
“Huh?”
Hong Que immediately let go and turned to look. Xie Qiang took the chance to pry his hands open. Just as she was about to jump down, Hong Que realized the trick and pulled his arms back in, trying to pull her back into his embrace.
Unexpectedly, his strength was too great. Xie Qiang’s upper body was still leaning back, and she fell straight toward the ground. The sudden weightlessness made her eyes snap wide. She couldn’t help but yell, “Hong Que!”
Hong Que frantically reached out to catch her. His tall frame fell along with the girl. He flipped his body mid-air to act as her cushion, letting her fall onto his chest.
Fortunately, she didn’t hit her head. Xie Qiang patted her chest with lingering fear, then glared at Hong Que. “Your catching skills are terrible!”
“Hey, do you think just anyone can sit on my arm and have me catch them when they fall!”
Seeing that Xie Qiang wasn’t thanking him but was instead complaining, Hong Que said defiantly, “I’ve never practiced; how could my catching skills be good? If you want my skills to improve, then let me carry you every day for practice!”
“You!” Xie Qiang was left speechless by his retort. She couldn’t out-argue Hong Que, so she could only reach up and scratch his face. “It’s because you were being a rascal and wouldn’t let me down!”
“Hmph, wouldn’t it have been fine if you just promised me? If you’re so unwilling to be better to me, could it be…” Hong Que grabbed her flailing hands. His gaze inadvertently swept behind her, and after a slight flicker, he feigned realization. “Do you like Sen Ji?”
“I…” Xie Qiang was stumped by the question. Seeing Hong Que’s “I knew you were a fickle, heartless scumbag” expression, she didn’t want him to catch her words and tease her. Thus, she countered loudly, “I don’t like him!”
“Hey, Sen! Did you hear that? She doesn’t like you!”
The red-haired youth beneath her let out a triumphant and arrogant laugh, his provocative gaze fixed behind her. Xie Qiang’s body stiffened instantly. She turned her head back inch by inch.
A tall man with a cold aura was standing behind her, holding tent bags in his arms. Those emerald tiger eyes looked down at her, the depths of his gaze flickering with a hint of heart-broken loss.
When… when did he arrive?
Xie Qiang felt a moment of panic. “Sen Ji, I…”
“These are the tents for Her Highness and Prosecutor Hong.” Sen Ji lowered his eyes, setting the two tent bags on the ground. His gaze swept over their intimate posture on the ground. He struggled to suppress the unknown agitation in his heart and looked at them coldly. “It seems your relationship has improved quite a bit after living in the wormhole for a few days.”
“Naturally!” Hong Que sat up, circling Xie Qiang firmly in his arms, refusing to let go no matter how she struggled.
He even used his legs to pin down her kicking ankles, pressing her head firmly against his shoulder, forbidding her from looking at Sen Ji.
He gave Sen Ji a provocative smile. “In case you didn’t know, when I was almost killed by the Zerg Empress in the wormhole, Xie Qiang risked her life to save me. She loves me to death and will give me a Consort position when we return!”
Sen Ji’s fingertips trembled. His gaze, carrying a hint of longing for a denial, turned toward Xie Qiang. However, he only saw the girl’s fingers gripping Hong Que’s shoulder; she didn’t refute his words.
So what Hong Que said was true; she planned to break off the engagement with him when they returned.
Sen Ji clenched his fists. The loss and disappointment in his eyes flared and dimmed. He wanted to ask Xie Qiang if she would break off the engagement after returning to the Imperial City, but he was afraid of hearing an answer he didn’t want. He could only endure the urge to ask, his voice cold and prickly. “This is a private matter between the two of you; I have no desire to know more.”
Seeing him in such a pathetic state made Hong Que feel incredibly satisfied. He couldn’t help but provoke him further. “How can it be a private matter between me and Xie Qiang? You and Xie Qiang still have an engagement, after all. Since she and I have pledged our lives to each other, I naturally had to inform you~”
Xie Qiang couldn’t listen anymore. She reached out to pinch his waist, whispering in annoyance, “Can you say less!”
Her relationship with Sen Ji was already awkward enough. If he kept stirring the pot, how could they even face each other in the future?
Hong Que grabbed her pinching hand and kissed it. “Don’t be trouble; I’ll give it to you in a bit.”
Looking at the two flirting, Sen Ji felt a ball of fire burning in his chest with nowhere to vent.
Hong Que’s triumphant look was truly an eyesore, making him instinctively want to destroy it. He looked down at the red-haired youth on the ground, a cold sneer curling his lips. “Is that so? Then I, as the official fiancé, will permit you, this nameless and ill-reputed interloper.”
“I’m not the interloper!” Hong Que hated hearing those words the most. His face fell as he roared, “Xie Qiang likes me! I’ll be the official Consort in the future!”
“Likes you?” Sen Ji let out a cold laugh. Above his clenched fists, his cold, handsome face was full of contempt that saw through everything. “Did she allow you to leave a mark on her? Has she ever slept with you?”
Hong Que choked, his momentum weakening by half. “So what if she hasn’t! That… that’s only a matter of time!”
Sen Ji’s clenched fists relaxed; he breathed a sigh of relief that was barely detectable.
I baited it out.
They had spent every day in the wormhole keeping each other warm, yet they hadn’t shared a single moment of pleasure…
He couldn’t help but let out a pfft. “It seems you’re nothing special. When Her Highness saved me, she not only let me permanently mark her, but she also let me…”
He raised a hand to his lips and stopped speaking. However, that bashful, reminiscent expression said everything.
Hong Que’s face turned completely black.
He grumbled and told Sen Ji to get back to fixing the starship. Once Sen Ji was far away, he pressed Xie Qiang against the ground, saying indignantly, “Xie Qiang! You let me mark you right now! Then we sleep together!”
Xie Qiang: ?
Xie Qiang was completely stunned. “Hong Que! Are you out of your mind? You’re actually using your competitiveness for this?!”
“He’s bullying me, and you won’t even help me; why are you yelling at me?” Hong Que was aggrieved to death. He gripped her wrists and yelled, his mouth pouting, “Why do you say you don’t like him, yet you give everything to him, but you say you like me, and give me nothing?”
Was he some kind of low-class person?!
“I already told you, it was an emergency…” Xie Qiang said, her head aching. Seeing that Hong Que refused to listen to explanations and was only staring at her buttons, she clutched her collar in fear. “You… you calm down! We’re in the wild!”
Hong Que: “We have a tent!”
Xie Qiang: “That won’t do either! The ground is too hard; it’s uncomfortable!”
Hong Que: “Then you be on top! I’ll be your cushion! Wait… no!”
Hong Que realized something and narrowed his eyes. “When you were with Sen Ji, was he on top?”
Xie Qiang: ???
Xie Qiang’s face turned an explosive red. She shouted with a stiff neck, “No! We did it on top and on the bottom and everything!”
