Chapter 78: It’s Definitely Not Because She Likes Touching Them
Sen Ji, who was silently self-soothing, snapped his head up at the noise. A look of uncontrollable sorrow flooded his eyes.
Does she really care about me that little? Flirting with another Sentinel right in front of my face?
His voice held a slight trace of a sob. “Xie Qiang, do you want to touch his abs? Can you… can you not touch them?”
Hearing this, Hong Que’s face turned pitch black. He cursed irritably, “Why can’t she touch them? Who do you think you are!”
He stood up abruptly, leaning over the table. He pulled his combat suit up from his belt, then pressed Xie Qiang’s small hand against his abs. “I’m letting her touch them. She can touch them as hard as she wants. What are you going to do about it?”
Sen Ji pouted and looked up piteously at the girl. “Xie Qiang, my stomach hurts too…”
“Ah,” Xie Qiang looked at his stomach, her other hand itching to try. “Then I…”
Even though she knew Sen Ji was lying, she was genuinely curious about the difference between their abdominal muscle structures.
It definitely wasn’t because she liked touching them.
Really.
“He doesn’t hurt!” Seeing that Xie Qiang was actually preparing to purify Sen Ji’s stomach, Hong Que quickly grabbed her other hand as well. He pressed both of her hands firmly against his own abs, declaring righteously, “I have two people’s worth of pain here. I need both hands!”
Sen Ji stared at him. After a long moment, he turned his head away and said generously, “Whatever. Anyway, I slept with Qiangqiang all night last night. I’ll take pity on you today and let you have both hands.”
“You!” Hong Que was so angry he felt dizzy. He couldn’t beat him, so he could only look at Xie Qiang and roar loudly, “I’m sleeping with you two tonight!”
“Sss—”
“Hoh~”
“Wow…”
In the canteen, the Sentinels who were eavesdropping let out various exclamations.
A love triangle! How interesting.
Xie Qiang was dying of embarrassment. “Shut up! Sit down right now!”
“I won’t sit down unless you agree,” the red-haired youth said stubbornly. “I think it’s too dangerous for you to be in a room alone with him. You need a Sentinel to protect you at all times.”
“Fine, fine, fine.” Xie Qiang covered her face and compromised. “Just sit down!”
Hong Que sat down with a satisfied look, casting a triumphant glance at Sen Ji.
Sen Ji frowned but didn’t stop him. Instead, he muttered in a low voice that only Hong Que could hear, “Come if you want. It’s obvious you have no experience. You’ll just embarrass yourself and make Qiangqiang laugh at you. Hmph.”
Hong Que: !!!
If he let those two successfully sleep together tonight, his name wasn’t Hong—!
…
Wait, he’s actually not sleeping?
Lying between Sen Ji and Xie Qiang, Hong Que stared blankly at the ceiling. His face was a mask of ‘Who am I? Where am I? What was I supposed to be doing?’.
He looked up at his stomach. Xie Qiang’s slender arm was draped limply over it, radiating a tingly, warm purifying power. His abdomen felt so warm and numb that he couldn’t feel a single bit of pain.
But at the end of that arm, the girl’s white fingers were being held tightly by a large hand. Hong Que couldn’t help but let out a tsk at the sight, wanting to roll his eyes at Sen Ji.
To his surprise, as soon as he looked up, he met Sen Ji’s deep, glowing dark-green tiger eyes. He almost choked on his own breath in fright.
After finally catching his breath, Hong Que glared back fiercely. “If you’re not sleeping, what are you looking at!”
Sen Ji: “Looking at the ‘fourth party.’”
Hong Que: ?
Who are you calling the fourth party! And who’s the third party?
Hong Que kicked him. “She’s only with you because she has no choice! She doesn’t like you at all!”
Sen Ji also kicked him back. “But I’m still her fiancé! I’m legitimate!”
Hong Que reached out to grab his collar. “Since you’re the fiancé, you shouldn’t be so jealous! Otherwise, you’re not fit to be Xie Qiang’s First Imperial Consort!”
Sen Ji punched his forehead, gritting his teeth. “What’s wrong with being jealous? Is it stopping you from lying between the two of us right now?”
Hong Que dodged. “…Tsk, it seems it isn’t.”
“Anyway, stay away from Xie Qiang!” Hong Que ordered arrogantly. “A defective product should have the self-awareness of a defective product. You’re making things difficult for her by clinging to her like this!”
Sen Ji sneered, his tiger eyes looking darkly at the red-haired youth. “On what grounds?”
“On the grounds that I’m the one she likes!” Hong Que lifted his chin proudly. “You’ve got amnesia, so it’s normal you don’t know. I’ll be kind and tell you—she came to the Third War Zone specifically to find me and make me fall in love with her!”
Sen Ji’s face fell instantly. “She came to the battlefield for me.”
“Pfft.” Hong Que laughed out loud, looking at him with pity. “For you? Oh, right. To humiliate you!”
“You probably don’t know how much Xie Qiang used to hate you. She once claimed she’d rather marry a Zerg than ever purify you!”
“Shut up!” the man roared in a low voice. His eyes gradually turned crimson as his left hand lunged for Hong Que’s neck. “It’s not like that!”
He didn’t believe it. This young Sentinel was just jealous that he was Xie Qiang’s fiancé and was lying to him!
But why was his heart racing so fast?
“Wake up! If Xie Qiang really liked you, why hasn’t she accepted your permanent mark and helped you remove the Zerg pheromone interference?”
Hong Que blocked the attack, letting out a cold snort. “Because she doesn’t even have the desire to enslave or control you! You’re nothing in her eyes!”
“I told you to shut up!”
The man finally exploded in rage. He let go of the girl’s hand and raised a fist full of malice, swinging it toward Hong Que’s face.
Hong Que wasn’t one to back down either. He rolled over and kicked Sen Ji hard in the stomach. The two of them rolled off the bed in perfect sync and began a fist-to-flesh brawl.
The two of them fought tooth and nail. Even though they were bruised and battered, in so much pain they wanted to vomit, they refused to make a single sound for fear of waking the sleeping girl.
But in reality, Xie Qiang was already awake.
She had woken up while they were bickering like elementary schoolers.
The girl stared blankly at the ceiling, truly at a loss for how to resolve the conflict between the two of them. After agonizing over it for a long time, she finally thought of someone she could ask for help.
She opened her optical computer and sent a message to Shu Fenghua.
[Xie Qiang: Sister Shu, Sen Ji and Hong Que are fighting. What should I do?]
[Shu Fenghua: Princess baby, there’s nothing a kiss can’t solve~ (^_−)☆]
Xie Qiang: … I asked the wrong person.
Xie Qiang switched to someone else.
[Xie Qiang: Guide Gu, Sen Ji and Hong Que are fighting. What should I do?]
[Gu Yuan: Don’t speak. Just kiss them.]
Xie Qiang: ! I asked the wrong person again!
Holding onto her last shred of hope, Xie Qiang messaged Cen Yu.
[Xie Qiang: Guide Cen, Sen Ji and Hong Que are fighting. Besides kissing them, is there any other way to make them stop?]
[Cen Yu: Sleep with them o( ̄▽ ̄)d]
Xie Qiang: …
Xie Qiang slammed her optical computer down.
I transmigrated into an interstellar inspirational novel, not an interstellar spicy novel, dammit!
