Chapter 8: Mo Yin, Take it Off!
Xie Qiang woke up and rubbed her still-aching chest.
Thinking about the large shoe print she had seen on her chest while showering last night, Xie Qiang made a “grumpy cat” face, her whole face writing her unhappiness.
She would definitely settle this score with Hong Que!
After washing up, Xie Qiang went to the walk-in closet. Opening the wardrobe and seeing a whole row of sexy dresses that would need to be censored in modern times, she patted her face with a slight blush.
The original host’s taste was just too… spicy.
After searching the closet for a long time, Xie Qiang finally found a decent outfit in a corner. it was the uniform Guides wore for work, looking a bit like a modern doctor’s white coat.
Putting on the white coat, Xie Qiang also formally clipped two expensive-looking pens into her pocket.
“Mm, very good! Doctor Xie is going to work!”
Xie Qiang hummed a little tune as she left the room. Just as she was about to close the door, she caught sight of an unidentified object crouching at the doorway and was startled. “Ah!”
What is that?!
Xie Qiang looked closely and realized that the object was actually Mo Yin.
The wolf ears and tail had been retracted at some point. He hadn’t changed his clothes, and the first-aid kit in his arms was completely untouched. It seemed he had been keeping watch at the door all night with his untreated wounds.
Xie Qiang was shocked.
She had never seen someone so uncaring about their own body. “Mo Yin, why didn’t you treat your wounds?”
Mo Yin looked up, his dark golden wolf eyes staring straight at her. It wasn’t until he realized she was waiting for an answer that he finally spoke, his words as sparse as gold.
“You didn’t say to.”
Xie Qiang: “…”
She seemed to have only said she was giving the kit to him last night, without actually giving him the command to treat his wounds.
Carefully recalling the way the villainess and Mo Yin interacted, it seemed it really was just simple commands and execution.
So, was it because she hadn’t given the command to save her last night that Mo Yin hadn’t saved her?
Xie Qiang was slightly speechless.
“The next time you see me in life-threatening danger, save me immediately. Don’t wait for me to speak.” Xie Qiang said seriously.
Mo Yin kept his head down, fiddling with the kit, unclear if he had listened or not.
Seeing that he intended to apply the ointment directly to the wounds, Xie Qiang helplessly stopped him. “Mo Yin, take a shower first, then treat the wounds.”
Only then did Mo Yin stand up and leave without looking back.
When he returned, his body had been washed clean.
Xie Qiang finally saw what he looked like clearly.
He had the exact same facial contours as Hong Que. Beneath his long gray eyebrows, his nose was high, and the red “lip pearl” on his upper lip was very prominent. The difference was that Hong Que had a head of eye-catching red wavy hair, while Mo Yin had a dark gray high ponytail. His dark golden wolf eyes were also more low-key and restrained compared to Hong Que’s pure golden, falcon-like eyes.
Combined with that silent, wooden expression, he didn’t show any of Hong Que’s rebellious nature; there was only a rock-like stubbornness and silence.
How could the same face possess two completely different temperaments?
Xie Qiang stared straight at him, not realizing she had been sizing him up for a long time until Mo Yin looked away.
She gave a light cough, her face turning red as she retracted her gaze and handed over the ointment. “Apply the medicine.”
Mo Yin took the ointment.
His way of applying the medicine was a complete mess. Xie Qiang couldn’t stand it and forcefully snatched the ointment and bandages from his hands. “I’ll do it.”
After carefully treating the wounds on Mo Yin’s arms and tying the bandages, she looked at his tight-fitting shirt.
Xie Qiang felt a bit of a headache. “Don’t you even know basic medical knowledge?”
How could he wear a tight shirt when the wounds hadn’t even been treated?
Mo Yin looked up, a trace of confusion in his eyes, as if he didn’t understand why she was saying that.
“Take it off.” Seeing him motionless, Xie Qiang tried giving a command.
Mo Yin’s body paused slightly. Then, he crossed his arms and hugged them tightly to his chest.
A question mark slowly formed in Xie Qiang’s mind.
What does he mean by this?
Is he saying I’m a pervert who’s after his body?
“Mo Yin! Take it off!” Xie Qiang repeated, her voice a bit louder and tougher this time.
Mo Yin was also a bit tougher this time; he shook his head and curled himself into a corner of the sofa.
A young man 185 cm tall could actually curl into a ball—it was a sight that left Xie Qiang in awe.
Unfortunately, Xie Qiang was not someone who gave up easily. After a “battle” of three hundred rounds with Mo Yin, she finally succeeded in pulling up the tight shirt on his body, revealing the torso hidden beneath.
With just one look, Xie Qiang froze. Because she was dazed, the hem of the shirt was quickly snatched back by Mo Yin and gripped tightly in his palm.
Xie Qiang’s eyes felt a bit sore.
Mo Yin’s body was covered in countless whip marks. Although Sentinels had strong self-healing abilities, they couldn’t withstand the daily erosion of bacteria in the dirty water prison pool and the beatings from the villainess’s specially made punishment whip.
“I’m sorry…”
Xie Qiang’s eyes turned red. “I should have let you out earlier.”
Even if it were only an hour earlier, he could have suffered for an hour less.
Mo Yin kept his head down and stayed silent, only his thick eyelashes fluttering slightly.
Xie Qiang rubbed her eyes. She held the ointment in front of Mo Yin and then said softly, “I’ll give you a choice. Either I help you apply the medicine to all the wounds on your body, or you apply it yourself properly, and I only help you handle the wounds on your back that you can’t reach.”
Mo Yin looked down at the ointment in her palm. Although he had no expression, he looked as if he were wavering. Finally, he turned around with his back to Xie Qiang and pulled up his shirt slightly.
There wasn’t a single wound on his back.
Xie Qiang: “…”
Villainess!
It’s bad enough you like to torture people, but why do you only torture one side!
Xie Qiang was so embarrassed she wanted to crawl into a hole. She messily stuffed the ointment into Mo Yin’s hands and fled the scene. “I have to go to work! Remember to eat!”
As she watched Xie Qiang’s small figure disappear quickly, Mo Yin lowered his head, squeezed out some ointment, and began applying it bit by bit, imitating the girl’s manner.
Strange.
This woman seems to have changed.
She’s become so soft.
Munching on a fried small fish pancake she had swiped from the buffet restaurant, Xie Qiang was fully revived. With light steps, she walked into her office.
It had to be said that the life of the villainess was very happy.
She could go to work whenever she wanted; unlike other Guides, she didn’t have a fixed work quota.
Speaking of work quotas, the female lead had to be mentioned.
Originally, if Sentinels wanted purification, they had to pay a substantial fee to the Guides. But the female lead advocated for improving the treatment of Sentinels, thus persuading the Guides of the Third War Zone to not only have fixed daily work quotas but also to work overtime occasionally to provide free purification for low-level Sentinels.
Only the villainess didn’t take the female lead seriously at all, treating the daily work quota as a mere ornament.
With her hands propping up her delicate chin, Xie Qiang chewed on her fish pancake, her slender legs swinging.
But being too idle is also boring.
How do the office workers here slack off?
Swallowing the last bite of the pancake, Xie Qiang hopped off her office chair and crept toward the doors of the other offices.
Her fair fingertips pressed lightly on the transparent glass of a window. She stood on her tiptoes, peeking inside with curiosity.
What she saw was quite shocking: the Guide inside was sitting on the lap of a handsome Sentinel, and the two were kissing passionately. Meanwhile, the Guide’s other hand was actually stroking the beast ears of another handsome Sentinel…
