The Little Fool Saves the Masochistic Novel Protagonist CHAPTER 7

Chapter 7

Chi Aibei’s report quickly spread through the school. After the May Day holiday, the simpleton seemed even more unusual.

On the first day of school, he cried loudly on the playground. The next day, he reportedly lay on his desk all day without moving. On the third day, he reported his best friend, Zhou Mingming, to the police!

This child must have been traumatized during the holiday; his condition had worsened.

He Chenjiang had just entered the classroom when he bumped into Qin Wanpeng running out. He Chenjiang frowned and hissed, “Are you being chased by a ghost?”

Qin Wanpeng, ignoring the pain of the collision, quickly said: “Where have you been? I was about to look for you. The simpleton is changing classes.”

After Chi Aibei’s antics the day before, He Chenjiang couldn’t wait for him to leave. He pushed Qin Wanpeng away: “Wherever he wants to go. What does it matter to me?”

As soon as he finished speaking, He Chenjiang saw Lin Xiu sitting in the back row of their classroom. Chi Aibei stood beside him with a black backpack, carrying a teacup bigger than his head. He didn’t know what Lin Xiu asked him, but the simpleton shook his head blankly.

He Chenjiang grabbed Qin Wanpeng: “Why is he in our class?”

“Hey, don’t pull my clothes!” Qin Wanpeng stumbled, freeing his school uniform from He Chenjiang’s grasp: “Didn’t I say the simpleton is changing classes?”

He Chenjiang thought he hadn’t been beaten in too long and couldn’t understand what he was saying. He glared at Qin Wanpeng: “I’m asking why the top student is in our class!”

Qin Wanpeng said: “He came to help the simpleton pack his things. The simpleton is transferring to their class.”

“…” He Chenjiang suspected Qin Wanpeng was being careless: “He’s transferring to where?”

Qin Wanpeng said: “Class 1. Why else would I tell you?”

Qin Wanpeng was also puzzled. Previously, just changing seats to separate Chi Aibei and He Chenjiang for a week had caused the simpleton to cry his eyes out. Now, he was actually transferring classes without any fuss.

Qin Wanpeng was curious. The simpleton had suddenly stopped clinging to He Chenjiang after the holiday. He whispered, “You weren’t around during the May Day holiday. Did you do something to him?”

He Chenjiang elbowed him: “Go to hell!”

He Chenjiang cursed inwardly, Try being stuck playing checkers with a simpleton all night. Can you even get up the next day?

Someone whispered: “The simpleton is transferring classes. Is He Chenjiang going to transfer too?”

Chi Aibei suddenly looked at the person who spoke: “He’s not transferring. He doesn’t study well enough for Class 1.”

He Chenjiang’s mouth twitched when he heard Chi Aibei’s words: “…” As if you study well! You can’t even read the front and back of the test paper, yet you dare say I don’t study well!

As He Chenjiang stormed towards the back row, the students in the classroom held their breath, uncertain whether he was there to see the simpleton off or to fight the top student for custody of the simpleton.

Lin Xiu looked at the exercise books folded into paper airplanes on the desk and felt a headache. He asked Chi Aibei: “Do you still want these?”

Chi Aibei had seen He Chenjiang when he entered the classroom. He didn’t want Lin Xiu to have too much contact with him, so he shook his head: “No, no. Brother, let’s go.”

Lin Xiu stood up and saw He Chenjiang approaching…

He Chenjiang reached out and pulled Chi Aibei’s collar: “Sorry, top student. I’m interrupting your class. He’s not right in the head. The transfer is his idea. Go back.”

The surrounding students: !!!

Here it comes! The custody battle begins!

Someone clueless muttered, “You know, the top student and the school bully actually look kind of good together.”

Chi Aibei stopped struggling and glared—Look me in the eye and say that again!

A girl next to him whispered to the boy who had spoken out of line: “What are you talking about? Don’t randomly pair He Chenjiang with anyone; be careful that the simpleton doesn’t cry.”

The boy shrunk his neck and didn’t dare to speak again.

Lin Xiu looked at He Chenjiang, who was holding Chi Aibei by the collar like a chick: “He’s in our Class 1 now. Please give him back to me.” Lin Xiu snatched Chi Aibei from He Chenjiang’s grasp.

The “rescued” Chi Aibei was furious. He had only been grabbed by the collar twice in his life. The first time was by the big, fat man when he was climbing over the wall; why was this jerk grabbing him now?

He Chenjiang looked at Lin Xiu incredulously: “That idiot in Class 1?”

Lin Xiu frowned. Whether in the past or present, he had never heard He Chenjiang call Chi Aibei by his name. He always used the words “idiot,” with a contemptuous, disdainful, even disgusted tone, exactly the same as before.

Lin Xiu didn’t know why he had accepted this person’s help before. He didn’t want to talk to him anymore: “This was arranged by the school. If you have any problems, you can ask the principal.”

There was a rustling sound behind him. Lin Xiu turned to see Chi Aibei angrily taking off his school uniform and throwing it into the trash can.

Lin Xiu: “What are you doing?”

Chi Aibei, now only in a white t-shirt, puffed out his cheeks angrily: “It’s dirty.”

Lin Xiu only paused slightly. He didn’t look at He Chenjiang’s expression; he could guess it wouldn’t be good: “We’ll order another one later.”

Another one would definitely be ordered, but Chi Aibei wasn’t going to let this go. Although he wasn’t petty, he wasn’t magnanimous enough to let someone grab his collar. If he didn’t get revenge, he would get more pimples!

He asked Lin Xiu, “Brother, can school uniforms be made in two days?”

Lin Xiu sensed his question was not simple, but couldn’t guess what he was going to do: “Probably not that fast.”

As soon as Lin Xiu finished speaking, Chi Aibei pointed at He Chenjiang: “Where did he get that? Isn’t that the one with my boogers on it?”

He Chenjiang, whose uniform had been dry-cleaned and disinfected: “…”

Seeing the proud man’s face twist in anger, Lin Xiu looked away, cooperating: “He probably washed it.”

Chi Aibei dragged out the “oh,” and although he didn’t say anything, the tone was more infuriating than words. He Chenjiang’s knuckles cracked…

Chi Aibei was pulled out of the classroom by Lin Xiu. Leaving Class 7, Lin Xiu glanced back. Seeing that He Chenjiang hadn’t followed, Lin Xiu sighed: “You shouldn’t talk anymore.”

Chi Aibei could agree to any other request, but this one was difficult: “Brother, are you making me mute? I’ll get depressed if I don’t talk.”

Lin Xiu didn’t believe he would get depressed. With his quick wit, he was far from depressed!

He was just curious why Chi Aibei’s attitude towards He Chenjiang had changed. Before, Chi Aibei would do whatever He Chenjiang asked, but in these two meetings, he seemed to deliberately antagonize He Chenjiang, saying things to anger him, leaving him with a livid expression.

Lin Xiu asked: “Did you deliberately provoke him just now?”

Chi Aibei was still resentful: “He pulled my collar first!”

That was true.

Lin Xiu thought he was quite brave. He Chenjiang was still a hot-headed youth; he got into fights frequently and had the title of “school bully” until graduation.

Lin Xiu: “Aren’t you afraid he’ll beat you up?”

Chi Aibei looked at Lin Xiu and smiled, “The police haven’t left yet.”

Lin Xiu: “…”

So you knew he wouldn’t dare to hit you, no matter how angry he was?

Actually, no. He Chenjiang, with his thick head, wouldn’t care about the police. He was deliberately provoking him, hoping He Chenjiang would hit him, giving him an excuse to escalate the situation and make He Chenjiang transfer. Unfortunately, Lin Xiu pulled him away before He Chenjiang could act.
