Chapter 2: Are You Gay?
Ruan Yi looked at the round head buried in her stomach with complex emotions, her heart a mess of confusion.
Good Heavens, this vicious female supporting character actually got reborn.
Is this really a good thing?
Her brother was still here giggling foolishly, while he was about to be pressed down by men!
At some point, the head in her arms had already lifted. He stared intensely at Ruan Yi’s face, which was alternating between pale and green.
“Sister, do you still feel very uncomfortable?”
Ruan Yi sighed. “I’m fine.” She still wore a constipated expression.
She was truly a bit dazed. The bizarre comments she saw at the moment of her death in her past life, combined with the massive amount of information from her rebirth, left Ruan Yi with only one thought in her mind.
Baffling!
Not everyone is as gifted as a novel’s female lead. Ruan Yi currently didn’t even have a single clue about who killed her in her past life.
She just felt like having a breakdown!
While Ruan Yi was immersed in her brainstorming, a slightly cool, large hand gently touched her forehead.
“It’s clearly not hot anymore, so why do you still look so bad?”
Gu Zhi picked up the water cup from the side, held it in his hand, and naturally brought it to her lips.
Ruan Yi’s brain hadn’t reacted yet, but her mouth moved forward on its own, being fed small sips of water.
The cup was taken away. Because she was hesitating, she unconsciously bit her lower lip.
“Gu Zhi! Sister has to ask you something very serious!” Ruan Yi sighed, her expression grave.
Gu Zhi looked at her, stunned for a moment. “Mn, what is it?”
“Are you… gay?”
One could see Gu Zhi’s pupils vibrating.
“Ruan! Yi! Did the heatstroke break your brain?”
He squeezed this sentence out through gritted teeth. His hand gripping the cup exerted too much force, causing the veins on the back of his hand to bulge.
Written clearly on Ruan Yi’s face were two big words: I don’t believe you.
Looking at her, Gu Zhi’s face went completely black.
“Ruan Yi, listen to me. I swear, if I have even the slightest interest in men, I will…”
He was only halfway through his sentence when his lips were hurriedly covered by a soft hand. The unique fragrance of a girl instantly filled his nose and mouth.
Hiss…
Want to bite.
Ruan Yi rejoiced at her quick reaction. Dammit, the male protagonist can’t swear that kind of oath!
The one who suffers retribution for breaking the oath might not be the protagonist, but the protagonist’s sister.
Haha, her life was truly bitter.
The soft flesh against his palm moved slightly, followed by a sharp, dense pain.
“Ah!” Ruan Yi cried out, quickly retracting her hand.
“Are you a puppy? Why did you bite me!” Ruan Yi’s brows furrowed into a knot.
Puppy clearly didn’t use any force…
Gu Zhi stood up, blocking most of the light in the infirmary. Backlit, Ruan Yi couldn’t quite see his expression.
He pulled Ruan Yi’s hand over and held it in his.
His slightly rough fingertips gently rubbed the tooth mark on the inside of the girl’s palm that had almost disappeared.
“Because Sister didn’t believe me. If you ask this kind of question again in the future, I’ll bite more than just your palm.”
“I didn’t say I didn’t believe you…” Ruan Yi knew she was in the wrong and lowered her head, muttering softly.
Her brother really was straight. Then how did the plot evolve into what the comments described?
Was it completely forced? That would be too tragic.
How could there be such a miserable pair of siblings?
Save him, she must save him! Since she knew the plot, she didn’t believe she couldn’t guard against those scumbags.
Operation: Save Brother, launch!
She was determined to play this annoying vicious female supporting role.
Gu Zhi looked at the colorful little expressions on her face, and certain emotions in the depths of his eyes seemed about to overflow.
Pity, she’s a little dummy.
“It seems Sister is mostly recovered. Let’s go home.”
Ruan Yi nodded heavily, full of fighting spirit, and pushed off fiercely to stand up.
As soon as her feet touched the ground and she tried to stand steady, her legs went soft like cotton, and she started to fall.
Crap, she forgot she was a patient.
That pair of large hands with well-defined knuckles gripped her waist, easily lifting her up and placing her back on the bed.
The reaction was too rapid, the movement too silky smooth.
Ruan Yi hadn’t even reacted before she was sitting properly on the bed again, even suspecting she hadn’t stood up just now.
How did this person make every movement seem so natural?
Gu Zhi turned his back to her and half-crouched. “Get on, I’ll carry you.” After a while, sensing no intention from the girl to get on.
“Do you want to be held? That’s fine too…”
Hearing this, Ruan Yi had to interrupt him and climbed onto his back. “No need, no need! Let’s go.”
Gu Zhi carried her on his back, his large hands steadily supporting the underside of her thighs. He walked with exceptional stability and ease.
“Too light. Don’t always go on diets.”
The girl lay on his back. The setting sun stretched their shadows long, printing them onto the track of the playground.
She hadn’t noticed before, but Gu Zhi’s shoulders were very broad.
Anyway, she should be the one on top [in charge/protecting].
With random messy thoughts in her brain, Ruan Yi’s eyelids grew heavier and heavier until her small face pressed against his shoulder, and she fell into a deep sleep.
Dreams. Extraordinarily chaotic dreams.
Everything from her past life reappeared in her mind. The shattered mirror surface was pieced back together, countless fragmented images forcibly collaged into deformed and twisted scenes like sharp glass edges.
Blurry footsteps surged from all directions, mixed with low murmurs that didn’t belong to this world. Every fragment reflected the scene before her death.
Black slime oozed from the cracks of the puzzle.
Suddenly, she could see clearly. Ruan Yi possessed a ceiling-level perspective. Her vision was clear as she looked at herself lying on the operating table, nothing left but naked misery.
Heavy footsteps drew closer and closer, like the tolling bell of death, breaking through the door.
Something in the man’s hand reflected silver light, like a Grim Reaper holding a scythe. Accompanied by the explosive sound of a sharp blade cutting through the air, it brought one heavy thud after another of bodies hitting the ground.
The white walls were splattered with trace after trace, the nauseating intensity covering even the smell of disinfectant.
Several figures fought together. Extreme rage instantly filled the operating room, lingering for a long time.
“Bang!” A body fell powerlessly. The hand gripping the sharp blade achieved the final victory.
A duel and slaughter that could be called magnificent.
Hands covered in blood and filth gently cupped the girl’s bloodless face, as if she were a rare treasure. The scent of blood rushed to the nose, lips pressed tightly together, never to separate again.
The nightmare made Ruan Yi’s breathing increasingly rapid. Fear and uneasiness invaded her mind, and she couldn’t wake up no matter what.
Suddenly, a burst of fresh soap scent carrying a faint mint aroma surrounded her. The terrifying images in her mind instantly melted away.
Her eyelashes trembled gently. A warm, soft sensation invaded, slowly deepening, like two soft petals fitting together, gently kneading.
Fingertips unconsciously clenched tight. The sound in her throat was stolen before it could spill out, entangled, and swallowed completely into the belly along with the moisture.
Although it overlapped with the final scene of the nightmare, it wasn’t a kiss of despair like on the operating table.
Instead, it was very gentle, very comfortable.
It just lasted a bit too long, making people breathless.
Her eyes snapped open. Ruan Yi gasped, breathing heavily. The room was silent, as if no one had visited.
