Chapter 22: The Easiest to Coax
The consequence of playing “cargo mover” was a body that felt weak and sore all over, ridiculously tired. Ruan Yi even suspected that she was the one with the hangover yesterday.
She slept until noon. While washing up, she discovered several red marks from friction on her body, all in the softest places under her clothes.

Ruan Yi also realized that Gu Zhi actually didn’t call her for lunch today. Usually, Gu Zhi was terrified she would be hungry. Even on weekend noons, he would wake her up, make her eat lunch, and then let her go back to sleep.
It was over. One look and she knew her brother was throwing a tantrum at her.
Although Ruan Yi didn’t know what mistake she had made, she had already started sweating cold sweat from a guilty conscience.

Her trailing note drooped, carrying a coquettish awkwardness, and her arm circled his arm following the momentum.

Ruan Yi was still feeling smug when she caught a glimpse of white gauze out of the corner of her eye.
Her brows instantly locked tight. She grabbed Gu Zhi’s other wrist and pulled it in front of her.
“Hiss… Sister, be gentle.” His warm breath hit the girl’s ear. His voice was so low and hoarse it was almost a whisper, seemingly mixed with a deliberately slowed tone.
On the wrist held by Ruan Yi, snow-white gauze was wrapped layer upon layer around the palm, but the edges showed a spiderweb-like faint red bloodstain.
“Gu Zhi, you still have the face to scold me! How did you get injured?” Ruan Yi’s tone was very fierce. She was acting spoiled a second ago, and now she was energized, bringing out all the pressure of an elder.
But the majesty didn’t last three seconds.
When Gu Zhi lowered his eyes, the corners of his mouth pursed somewhat resentfully. His eyes were covered with a moist mist, and his speech was muffled with a nasal tone.
“Isn’t it all because of Sister… Because I kept thinking about Sister and worrying about Sister, I got distracted while doing things and accidentally injured myself.”

“Very painful, right… sorry.” Her voice was so thin it was almost inaudible. She leaned very close to observe the place wrapped in gauze, her warm breath sweeping over his wrist.
Sister’s heart is even softer than her body.

Ruan Yi took the phone. A special contact name was prominently displayed on the screen.
“Old Pervert but Current Boss,” followed by a poop emoji suffix.
Mockery flashed across the bottom of his eyes.
“Not allowed to answer.”
