Gu Wanrong watched Alice’s departing figure; that woman was really unpredictable.
“Let’s continue.”
“I’ll take the same white car, with the highest configuration. Can I pick it up today?” Gu Wanrong asked.
“Let me check if there’s one in stock,” He Jin immediately called the warehouse to inquire. “Yes, a white M8 four-door sedan arrived yesterday. We can complete the license plate and paperwork within an hour.”
Gu Wanrong and He Jin quickly finalized the purchase contract. After swiping her card and signing, the two-million-plus top-of-the-line BMW M8 became Gu Wanrong’s.
“【Huaxia Bank】Bao Fu transferred…”
Time flew by as she was using her phone. Once the paperwork was done, Gu Wanrong drove the BMW M8 home.
After buying her new car, Gu Wanrong couldn’t get enough of it. She drove it every day to pick up her two friends, and even drove to her Pilates class at Tianxiang City, which was only a ten-minute walk away.
When she wasn’t driving, she stayed home and bought various car accessories online, changing them out regularly.
It wasn’t until she was about to leave City C for school in City J that her excitement about the new car gradually subsided.
Jinhua University and Deji University had the same start date, so Gu Wanrong, Wu Ai’ai, and Zhou Siyin agreed to go to City J together.
Gu Wanrong decided to buy a ready-to-move-in house near Jinhua University, or rent one if she couldn’t find a suitable house to buy. Since she wanted to bring Nai Cha to school, they flew to City J a day early, on Saturday.
As soon as they got off the plane, the three of them took a taxi to their booked hotel. After checking in and having lunch, they split up.
Zhou Siyin and Wu Ai’ai went shopping nearby to familiarize themselves with the area around the school, while Gu Wanrong directly contacted a real estate agent to look at houses.
Gu Wanrong’s requirements for the house were that it had to be large. After living in a spacious new house for a month, she was already used to it and couldn’t stand cramped spaces.
The house had to be fully furnished and equipped with a new air ventilation system. The newer the better, and it had to be close to Jinhua University. All four requirements were non-negotiable.
Whether buying or renting, the price wasn’t an issue. After understanding Gu Wanrong’s requirements, the agent, knowing there was no price limit, found a few houses that Gu Wanrong might like.
After meeting the agent, Gu Wanrong said, “Ms. Gu, which property would you like to see first?”
“Let’s see the two properties listed for sale first. I’d rather buy a house, so I’ll look at rentals only if I can’t find anything to buy.” Gu Wanrong told the agent.
Then, she got on the agent’s electric scooter and went to see the houses. The agent had prepared two houses, one large and one small, for Gu Wanrong to choose from.
The agent rode the electric scooter towards the first residential complex, Xinyi Garden.
The first house Gu Wanrong saw was a newly renovated apartment in an old residential complex, where residents were quite familiar with each other. There was a small garden in the complex, surrounded by pavilions and benches. Many elderly people sat there chatting or playing chess day and night, creating a pleasant atmosphere. It was directly opposite the main gate of Jinhua University.
The apartment was a three-bedroom, one-living-room unit with a net area of 120 square meters. Most of the furniture was made of walnut wood, and the decoration style was quite retro.
Leaving the complex, an agent with a young man brushed past Gu Wanrong. The young man looked familiar, but Gu Wanrong couldn’t remember where she had seen him and didn’t pay much attention, quickly forgetting about it.
The second property was a bit farther from Jinhua University than the first, but still quite close.
The complex was called Yaxue New Garden. The facilities were clearly much newer than the previous complex, and security was stricter. Before entering, the agent had to show his real estate license for registration before the security guard opened the gate.
The first thing they saw was a patch of lush green lawn, with a gardener operating a machine to maintain it. Various flowers were planted around the lawn, and tall, thriving trees lined both sides of the road.
The building where the house Gu Wanrong was looking at was located had a small pond connected to a larger pond nearby. Next to the pond was a pavilion, and someone was leaning against a bench feeding fish.
The house was larger than her home in City C and was a duplex; all the houses in Yaxue New Garden were duplexes.
Opening the door, one faced an arched doorway. To the left was a large living room with floor-to-ceiling windows along one entire wall; another floor-to-ceiling window was on the left side of the living room, opposite a fireplace.
To the right of the living room was the dining room, next to a wet bar and a Western-style kitchen. Further in was a Chinese-style kitchen, next to a shared bathroom and a utility balcony.
To the right of the arched doorway were two bedrooms and a study, one smaller bedroom and one larger bedroom with a walk-in closet and bathroom. The study could be converted into a pet room for Nai Cha.
Entering through the arched doorway, there were many cabinets on both sides for storage, followed by a spiral staircase leading to the second floor. The master bedroom on the second floor had a princess-style double door. Opposite the bedroom were a walk-in closet and a bathroom. The master bedroom’s walk-in closet had separate areas for hanging clothes, storage cabinets, jewelry cabinets, and bag cabinets, as well as a designated makeup area.
Between the master bedroom and the second bedroom was a small rest area with a projector screen that could be used as a home theater. The second bedroom didn’t have a walk-in closet, but it did have a bathroom.
Gu Wanrong instantly fell in love with this duplex. The design of each room was reasonable, and the decoration style was bright, warm, and romantic, aligning perfectly with Gu Wanrong’s aesthetic.
“This one. I love it,” Gu Wanrong was very satisfied and didn’t want to look at any more. “How long will it take to complete the housing procedures? I want to move in.”
Leaving Yaxue New Garden, she ran into the same young man again.
Gu Wanrong and the agent found a quiet corner in a coffee shop to sit down.
“Ms. Gu, for the house in Yaxue New Garden, after you pay the full amount today, we’ll expedite the process and try to complete the procedures by tonight. You can move in tomorrow,” the agent said as they sat down in the coffee shop to continue discussing.
“If I can get the house title deed today, then I’ll decide on this one,” Gu Wanrong said.
“Then I’ll reiterate the cost of the house. The building area is 350 square meters, priced at 118,000 yuan per square meter, plus other fees as per the contract, totaling 42 million yuan.” After speaking, the agent handed the contract to Gu Wanrong to sign.
After signing, the agent sent a message to the homeowner and received a reply. The homeowner, learning that Gu Wanrong would pay in full at once, said that he would come to the agency immediately to sign and transfer ownership.
Back at the agency, Gu Wanrong waited in the rest area for the homeowner to arrive.
While waiting, she called the manager of Guang Le Home Services in City J and asked for the phone number of a reputable local decoration company, planning to make a few changes to the Yaxue New Garden house: converting the study on the first floor into a pet room with a large cat tree for Nai Cha, and converting the second bedroom on the second floor into a walk-in closet since she would be buying more jewelry and bags. The master bedroom’s walk-in closet certainly wouldn’t be enough.
Then, she sent a message to Aunt Xiu, telling her that she had bought a house in City J and could bring Nai Cha after military training.
Aunt Xiu’s cooking was delicious, she worked efficiently, and got along well with Gu Wanrong. She didn’t try to take advantage of Gu Wanrong. Gu Wanrong loved Aunt Xiu’s cooking and asked if she would be willing to go with her to City J when she went to university. Aunt Xiu, thinking that Gu Wanrong had a good temper, was her boss, and generous with money, agreed.
Half an hour later, the homeowner arrived at the agency. After the agent introduced Gu Wanrong and the homeowner, Gu Wanrong paid the full amount on the spot.
“【Huaxia Bank】Bao Fu transferred 420,000,000 yuan to your account ending in 6688. Please check.”
After the homeowner received the bank’s confirmation SMS, the agent took the homeowner to complete the ownership transfer procedures.
When Gu Wanrong left the real estate agency, she already had the house title deed. After putting it in a Chanel shopping bag, she turned and walked into the nearby [location unspecified].
Returning to the hotel, she found that Wu Ai’ai and Zhou Siyin hadn’t returned yet and were still shopping. After calling and asking for their location, Gu Wanrong changed her bag to another LV Neverfull and went out to find them.
“Yuanyuan, over here!”
Wu Ai’ai and Zhou Siyin were sitting by the window of 0° Desserts, each holding a cup of milk tea, with shopping bags at their feet. Gu Wanrong saw them from the window as soon as she got out of the car.
They both saw Gu Wanrong at the same time and stood up waving.
“You bought so many things; it’ll be tiring to carry them around later.” Gu Wanrong met Wu Ai’ai and Zhou Siyin at the entrance of 0° Desserts and said, seeing the several shopping bags they were carrying.
“It’s okay, which woman doesn’t carry a few bags when she shops?” Wu Ai’ai waved her hand generously, unconcerned.
Zhou Siyin nodded in agreement, “Yeah.”
“Let’s leave them at the mall’s storage area first,” Although they didn’t think it was tiring, Gu Wanrong still suggested putting the things away before continuing shopping.
“Okay, let’s go store them first. Wait for us here.”
“Okay.”
Gu Wanrong ordered a fruit tea at 0° Desserts and sat down waiting for Wu Ai’ai and Zhou Siyin to return.
