THE REBATE SYSTEM OF SUDDEN WEALTH CHAPTER 89

Chapter 89: Internal Thief II

He Yucheng tapped his desk rhythmically, gesturing for his secretary to leave.

The secretary nodded and quietly exited, closing the door.

He Yucheng’s gaze fell on the documents:

Clever? Probably An Xuliang’s idea.

Two family black sheep, stealing to enrich themselves—shortsighted and greedy. They only saw immediate profit, ignoring long-term consequences.

An Xuliang, an illegitimate son, was restless and aspired to inherit An Group. This wouldn’t affect the He family, but instead of fighting for power locally, he came to Rongcheng, using Wanxi Jewelry’s branch to secretly collaborate with He Yukang.

He Yucheng frowned. He Yukang and An Xuliang were cousins.

His sister was the third master’s mistress, using He Yukang to gain power; his sister is An Runliang’s lover, with the illegitimate son An Xuliang, involved in An Group’s power struggle.

Now, these two were causing trouble in Rongcheng.

An Group had a jade supply chain in Myanmar, while the He family controlled most of Rongcheng’s jade auctions. An Xuliang, as Wanxi Jewelry’s manager in Rongcheng, secretly sold An Group’s jade through He Yukang, bypassing the public auction.

An Group lost profits, An Xuliang profited; the He family lost reputation, He Yukang profited.

An Xuliang—An Group’s internal thief.

He Yukang—a He family black sheep.

He Yukang’s attempt to seize Gu Wanrong’s jade was clear—those stones belonged to An Group but were secretly sold by He Yukang and An Xuliang.

If it weren’t for Gu Wanrong, this would’ve gone unnoticed. Once An Group and the He family realized, it would be too late. The He family’s reputation would be ruined, and no one would dare bring jade to Rongcheng auctions.

A small leak can sink a great ship. And since it was Gu Wanrong, from a family on par with the Xie family, the He family needed to act fast.

He Yucheng went to his father, He Jinghong’s office.

He knocked. “Father, can I come in?”

He heard his uncle, He Jingkun’s voice. His face darkened. His uncle was likely there to complain about He Yukang.

He Jinghong allowed him in. He Yucheng composed himself and entered.

Sponsored

“Father, Uncle,” He Yucheng greeted politely, handing them the documents. “If you’re here for He Yukang, read this first.”

He Jingkun impatiently flipped through the documents, unconcerned.

He Jinghong’s expression grew serious, noting his son’s seriousness, unlike He Jingkun’s indifference.

“What’s the problem? Apologize to that girl,” He Jingkun said casually, ignoring He Yukang’s theft. “You’ve been friendly with Xie Xian. She’ll forgive him for Xie Xian’s sake.”

“Uncle, Miss Gu is Miss Gu, Xie Xian is Xie Xian. Don’t mix them up,” He Yucheng sighed, thinking his father and uncle were equally arrogant and foolish.

He Jinghong couldn’t stand his brother. Gu Wanrong’s family was clearly as powerful as the Xie family, considering He Yucheng couldn’t find information on her. Such a family wouldn’t tolerate being robbed in public without retaliating.

“Don’t bail He Yukang out,” He Jinghong stated firmly. The He family must take responsibility.

“What? It’s just a small matter!” He Jingkun exclaimed, incredulous, ready to argue.

But seeing He Jinghong’s impassive face, he swallowed his words.

He Jinghong’s authority stemmed not from power but from years of respect and trust.

“Fix the problem with the stolen An Group jade. Our reputation can’t be ruined!”

He Jinghong assigned the problem to He Jingkun. The documents mentioned An Xuliang’s involvement. He Jingkun would have to handle the fallout with An Group, since both culprits were close to him.

While the He family struggled, Gu Wanrong and Xie Xian were in a tense atmosphere in the car. Despite being an arm’s length away, Gu Wanrong felt anxious under Xie Xian’s gaze. His gaze was the same, yet today felt different.
