Chapter 24: Your Lips Are So Red
The hotel manager went to check the surveillance, and the group returned to the private room. Once the door closed, Lin Shiyu’s gaze uncontrollably landed on Wen Yuhuai’s face. After staring for a while, he turned back to look at Fu Xingjian, his gaze unfriendly.
“What did you go do just now? Were you in the private room the whole time?”
Fu Xingjian didn’t even lift his eyelids, speaking unhurriedly, “Who do you think found the person in charge?”
Lin Shiyu sneered. “Does finding someone require Crown Prince Fu to go personally?”
Fu Xingjian slowly rolled up his cuff, his wrist bone protruding clearly, green veins floating on his forearm. “Does making a phone call not take time?”
Hearing them start to argue again, Wen Yuhuai felt his head about to explode. He downed another cup of wine, lay on the table, and shouted, “Stop talkingā”
The two instantly quieted down, their gazes landing on him in unison.
Wen Yuhuai just lay miserably on the table. His cheeks were flushed from intoxication, and he stared blankly at the wine glass in his hand, looking as if he was so drunk he didn’t know who he was.
“Brother, your lips are so red, and a bit swollen. Is it an allergy to something you ate?”
Song Xingmian finally couldn’t hold back and asked, his eyes staring fixedly at Wen Yuhuai’s lips, the bottom of his eyes dark and gloomy.
The others paused and looked over as well, seemingly wanting to know how he would answer.
Wen Yuhuai seemed to hear the question clearly, yet seemed not to have. His brain was a messy tangle, like filled with many knots that couldn’t be untied. In short, he didn’t answer him, continuing to immerse himself in his own thoughts.
To be forcibly kissed by that pervert in his own territory, and for that pervert to even control the power outageādid that mean he could also control the surveillance?
Wen Yuhuai’s fingers tightened around the wine glass. Although alcohol paralyzed his nerves, he profoundly realized how dangerous that pervert was. If things went wrong, he might truly be someone he couldn’t afford to offend.
Then what to do? Could he just live in fear like this forever?
“Brother, what’s wrong? Are you uncomfortable somewhere? I won’t ask anymore…”
In just a few seconds, Wen Yuhuai had made a decision internally. He shook his dizzy head and sat up straight. His gaze landed on the four men, looking them over carefully.
They were the protagonist group, after all; they should be trustworthy, right?
“Ah Yu?”
Wen Yuhuai seemed to have made a certain resolution. He spoke straightforwardly, “Just now when the power went out in the washroom, that pervert who kidnapped me appeared again.”
The expressions of the others changed in unison. Fu Xingjian frowned tightly. “Then Ah Yu, youā”
Using his drunkenness as a cover, Wen Yuhuai spouted nonsense without blushing or skipping a beat. “He didn’t do anything to me. I beat him off. He wasn’t my match.”
Gu Yanxiu raised his eyebrow imperceptibly, but the expression on his face relaxed. “It’s good that you’re okay.”
Wen Yuhuai’s expression remained very serious. Only, perhaps due to the alcohol, when he sat there obediently, he looked like a bullied child. He said indignantly, “Before leaving, he threatened me, saying he would find a chance to kidnap me again in the future.”
Lin Shiyu’s expression was grim, his wine glass landing heavily on the table. “Courting death.”
Wen Yuhuai nodded obediently. “Exactly, exactly. I also think he’s courting death.”
After speaking, he pretended to be afraid again, though his acting was slightly exaggerated. “Then can you guys help me catch him? What if he really kidnaps me again next time?”
Fu Xingjian dialed another number. After asking briefly, his brows furrowed immediately, and his gaze unconsciously fell on Wen Yuhuai.
Lin Shiyu couldn’t stand his look of knowing something but refusing to say it. He asked coldly, “Speak if there’s something.”
Fu Xingjian put down his phone. “The hotel manager said the surveillance footage from the time of the blackout was hacked.”
Bangā
The sound of the glass cup hitting the floor was very crisp. Wen Yuhuai looked down blankly at the amber liquid flowing quietly on the floor.
“Even the surveillance can be hacked. I think he doesn’t want to run this hotel anymoreā”
Wen Yuhuai stood up without warning and walked straight out.
“Ah Yu, where are you going?”
Gu Yanxiu, sitting near the door, pulled him. Wen Yuhuai stumbled and fell straight into his arms.
He struggled to get up from him, muttering to himself, “I… I’m going home first. You guys drink as you please. I’m paying today. I’m going home first…”
Nowhere outside was safe. He had to find his bodyguards. He swore he would bring his bodyguards wherever he went in the future.
Gu Yanxiu’s large hand restrained the young man’s waist with restraint, his tone gentle and coaxing. “Be good. Everyone is here; why leave?”
Unable to break free, Wen Yuhuai got a bit anxious. Slap. He hit Gu Yanxiu’s hand, throwing a small tantrum. “Let go of meā”
Gu Yanxiu didn’t let go. Instead, braving the murderous gazes of the others, he took a mile after being given an inch and held the young man in his arms.
“Ah Yu, don’t be afraid. I promise, that person behind the scenes won’t pose a threat to you again.”
Wen Yuhuai paused, looked up at him, and asked, “You promise?”
Gu Yanxiu nodded with certainty. “I promise.”
Wen Yuhuai’s gaze suddenly landed on his arm. Perhaps because he had just come back from outside, he was still wearing his suit jacket, but a patch of fabric on his right arm was wet. It wasn’t obvious from a distance just now, but this close, it was easily visible.
He remembered he had bitten that damn pervert just now too. He forgot which arm it was, but it was bitten through the fabric. Saliva should have wet that patch of fabric. It seemed to be exactly this spot.
Drinking was truly bad. His brain was ridiculously slow; he had to think for a long time about a simple question. Wen Yuhuai slapped his head somewhat self-destructively.
“What’s wrong?” Gu Yanxiu held his wrist, stopping his nearly self-harming action.
Wen Yuhuai pointed to the water stain on his arm. His body leaned forward involuntarily, almost getting right in his face. His eyes stared straight at him, not missing any subtle expression on his face.
“What is this about?”
