The Straight Heartthrob: Ruthlessly Forced by a Madman Chapter 64

Chapter 64: The Secret is Discovered

After hanging up the phone, Wen Yuhuai curled up on the sofa in his room and dazed out for a while. He had never imagined he would fall to this point—a grown man being fought over by two other grown men.

Perhaps from the very beginning, he shouldn’t have tried to be clever and get close to them. He already knew the story’s ending; as long as he avoided the key turning points and didn’t get entangled with the female lead, he could have lived out this life peacefully.

But what about now?

Wen Yuhuai rubbed his face, trying to pull himself together, but his mood only became more dejected.

He just wanted to live a normal person’s life. Why was it so hard?

What exactly did he have to do to stay away from this group of gay men who like guys?

Before he could figure it out, the sound of the door opening came from outside. Gu Yanxiu was back.

Wen Yuhuai’s body stiffened for a moment. He took a deep breath, tried his best to keep his expression natural, and stood up to push open his bedroom door.

Gu Yanxiu had just placed the takeout food on the dining table. Seeing him come out, he hooked a gentle and harmless smile at him. “Waited long? Wash your hands and come eat.”

Wen Yuhuai turned and went to the bathroom. He hurriedly rinsed his hands, even forgetting to dry them, and came out dripping wet.

Seeing him like this, Gu Yanxiu raised an eyebrow slightly. He pulled out a couple of tissues and walked toward him, drying his hands bit by bit. “Did something happen today? Why do I feel like you’re a bit distracted? Your complexion doesn’t look great either.”

Wen Yuhuai shook his head and told a casual lie. “Maybe I didn’t sleep well yesterday.”

Gu Yanxiu’s movements paused slightly. He threw the tissues into the trash can a beat late. “Was it a nightmare?”

Wen Yuhuai continued to shake his head and sat down at the dining table. “It’s nothing. Just lack of sleep. Let’s eat; I’m hungry.”

Gu Yanxiu thoughtfully stopped mentioning it. The two sat at the dining table and finished their meal in silence.

After eating, Wen Yuhuai returned to his room to prepare for a nap. Gu Yanxiu followed him unhurriedly toward his own room, seemingly going back for a nap as well.

Wen Yuhuai’s steps stiffened. He turned back to look at him. “Don’t you need to go to the company?”

Gu Yanxiu gave a small smile. “The company isn’t very busy today. No need to go this afternoon. I’ll stay home to keep you company until I send you off tomorrow afternoon.” After saying that, he brushed past his shoulder and walked away.

Wen Yuhuai nodded stiffly and reached out to push open his bedroom door. “Then get some good rest. I’m going to nap now.”

He said it was a nap, but Wen Yuhuai couldn’t sleep at all. He stared fruitlessly at the ceiling with wide eyes.

Could he leave smoothly tomorrow? Had Gu Yanxiu discovered he went to the basement? Would he change his mind at the last minute?

Everything was an unknown. The initiative was not in his hands at all; he could only passively accept all arrangements.

Unable to sleep, the person who made him feel disgusted from the bottom of his heart was sleeping right next door. Just thinking about this made him even more restless.

Yet, he had to endure it. Endure until tomorrow. Endure until that one and only possible chance to leave this place.

He swore that if he successfully escaped, he wouldn’t return to the capital for ten years.

He would rather wander the world alone, rather have a home he couldn’t return to, than face these two “madmen” who viewed the law as non-existent.

If they were seven or eight years younger, he might not be so deeply repulsed. But now they were well-considered adults. Such people were the most terrifying when they went crazy; they were definitely not something he could handle.

Especially two of them together.

If they truly joined forces to lay out a dragnet, it would be impossible for him to escape. He could only become their plaything in the palm of their hands, like a butterfly with broken wings, until the day they grew tired of him.

He lay on the bed in a daze for the entire afternoon until he heard the sound of a door opening.

Wen Yuhuai sat up stiffly, listening quietly to the movements outside.

Gu Yanxiu went out. Gu Yanxiu came back. Gu Yanxiu seemed to be cooking in the kitchen…

After about another hour, the bedroom door was gently knocked from the outside. Gu Yanxiu’s voice reached his ears, somewhat muffled by the soundproof door. “A-Yu, come out and eat.”

Wen Yuhuai threw back the covers and got out of bed. He didn’t go to open the door. Instead, he went to the bathroom first and looked at himself in the mirror above the sink. His face was pale, his eyes panicked; anyone could see something was wrong.

After staring quietly for a while, he lowered his head and turned on the tap, cupping water to wash his face. He washed very vigorously, as if trying to scrub off a layer of skin. The results were naturally significant; before long, his pale face showed a bit of color through the flesh.

His complexion looked much better.

Grabbing a clean towel, he dried his face. Wen Yuhuai practiced his expression and gaze in the mirror until no more abnormalities could be seen. Only then did he finally walk toward the door.

Gu Yanxiu wore a leisurely smile as he lowered his hand from knocking. “I knocked for so long with no reaction. I thought you weren’t awake yet.”

Wen Yuhuai curled his lips. “I just woke up. My head was still a bit foggy, so I went to wash my face.”

The arc of Gu Yanxiu’s lips deepened, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes.

Liar. He clearly hadn’t slept at all.

“Let’s eat. I specially made a few of your favorite dishes tonight. Taste my cooking.”

“En.”

After finishing a meal he could hardly swallow, the two returned to their respective rooms to sleep.

The night passed peacefully. The long darkness gradually faded, and the dawn finally arrived.

Wen Yuhuai finally endured the last morning. It was time for their agreed-upon departure.

Gu Yanxiu pulled the suitcase for him, standing at the door and looking at him gently. “A-Yu, let’s go.”

Wen Yuhuai gripped his phone and gave a soft en.

It wasn’t until the car left the underground garage and drove toward the high-speed rail station at a steady speed that Wen Yuhuai’s tightly wound heart finally began to relax a little.

He probably hadn’t noticed that I went to the basement.

If he truly sends me out of the capital today, then that kidnapping can be wiped clean. I can magnanimously forgive him and stop holding a grudge.

Only Fu Xingjian… only he is the absolute villain.

The car soon stopped near the high-speed rail station, and the two got out together.

Gu Yanxiu handed him the ticket he had bought in advance, gave him the suitcase, and walked him into the station.

People were coming and going all around them, but they were perfectly separated by a few nearby travelers, leaving them space to say goodbye.

The station entrance was right before his eyes. Wen Yuhuai already saw the dawn of hope. His heart couldn’t help but throb wildly, and his eyes burst with a strange light.

“Senior, thank you for your help these past few days. In the future, I will—”

His words were cut off in his throat. Gu Yanxiu’s hand was gripping his arm tightly, with no intention of letting go.

The smile on the corner of Wen Yuhuai’s mouth froze awkwardly. His heart sank and sank again, yet he still didn’t want to give up this golden opportunity and continued to struggle fruitlessly. “Senior, let go! The train is about to depart—”

Gu Yanxiu didn’t let go. Instead, he used a bit of force to pull the person into his arms. He looked at him with a gaze that was somewhat regrettable, his tone full of pity:

“A-Yu, I really did want to let you go.”

“But my secret was accidentally discovered by you.”

Wen Yuhuai’s pupils dilated uncontrollably. He opened his mouth to say something, but a sudden sharp pain came from his arm. Everything before his eyes began to spin.

Before losing consciousness, all he saw was Gu Yanxiu’s face, so gentle it was nearly distorted, and those few travelers who kept closing in to block the view from the surrounding area.

“Was I not good enough to you, Baby? Why do you always think about leaving me?”

“Fortunately, I’ve had enough of playing this gentle senior. You don’t know how much I’ve been looking forward to this day. Looking forward to how I will…”

“F*ck you hard.”
