The Straight Heartthrob: Ruthlessly Forced by a Madman Chapter 72

Chapter 72: Move in with Me

Wen Yuhuai had indeed thought of seeking refuge with Lin Shiyu when he was locked up by those two, but he no longer had that idea now.

“No thanks. I’m doing fine here. I don’t want to move for the time being.”

Lin Shiyu frowned, clearly not giving up. “What’s good about this place? It has nothing. There’s a fireworks show on the Bund in Haishi for the New Year. we can go watch the fireworks together.”

Wen Yuhuai was a bit moved. “Go to Haishi for the New Year? And come back after?”

Lin Shiyu immediately agreed. “Sure. I need to come here to keep an eye on the resort anyway.”

Speaking of which, he added, “Where are you living now? Is it big? Will it be cramped if the two of us live together?”

Wen Yuhuai frowned. “My place is too small for a big shot like you. Stay where you were staying before. Don’t come crowding in with me.”

Lin Shiyu said without a second thought, “Then I’ll buy a house here. You move in with me.”

Wen Yuhuai didn’t refuse outright. He glanced at him. “You’re going to stay here long-term? What about your business in Haishi?”

Lin Shiyu didn’t care. “I’ll manage it. It’s not far away; it won’t stop me from coming back at night.”

Even if it wasn’t far, it was still one or two hundred kilometers—a one or two-hour drive. Wen Yuhuai didn’t agree with his idea and only said, “Suit yourself.”

He didn’t mention anything about moving in.

Lin Shiyu was anxious for a promise and asked again, “I’ll call someone to buy a suitable house right now. When will you move in with me?”

Wen Yuhuai said unhurriedly, “When did I agree to live with you?”

The psychological shadow Gu Yanxiu and Fu Xingjian had left on him was too great. Unless necessary, he didn’t want to share a roof with any other man.

Lin Shiyu’s expression wasn’t great, but he didn’t push further. He changed the subject. “What do you want for dinner? My treat.”

Wen Yuhuai didn’t refuse again. While replying to WeChat messages, he said, “You arrange it.”

In winter, the sun sets early. By the time they finished dinner, the sky was already dark. Lin Shiyu didn’t go back to his hotel; he insisted on shamelessly following Wen Yuhuai to see where he lived.

Wen Yuhuai didn’t have a car, and since Lin Shiyu had to drive him back anyway, he just let him see. It wasn’t like he had anything to hide.

After seeing it, the wrinkles on Lin Shiyu’s brow could have crushed a fly. “You’re living in a place like this?”

The entire apartment plus the living room wasn’t even half the size of his previous bedroom.

Wen Yuhuai glanced at him. “I think it’s pretty good.”

Lin Shiyu couldn’t bear to see him living a hard life. Even if Wen Yuhuai said it wasn’t hard at all, Lin Shiyu’s heart still ached.

Wen Yuhuai had been pampered since he was a child, and his lifestyle was top-tier. Even for Lin Shiyu, after his mom died and his dad married a new wife, he had never lived such a meager life.

An aura of agitation and anxiety permeated his entire being. He wished he could snatch the person back to Haishi right now and keep him in a villa by the river, raising him like a precious treasure.

But he knew the boy wouldn’t agree.

Lin Shiyu couldn’t help but feel defeated, and after that defeat came a hint of jealousy and hatred. He didn’t know what those two scum in the capital had done to push Wen Yuhuai to this point. He wished he could go back and skin them alive right now.

But on second thought, he felt he should perhaps thank them. After all that trouble, they ended up sending the person right to his side.

The sky was completely dark, but it wasn’t late—only eight o’clock. However, Lin Shiyu refused to leave, acting as if he intended to stay the night.

The apartment Wen Yuhuai rented only had one bed, and it was 1.5 meters wide. It was perfect for one person, but too small for two. Moreover, after going through those things, he had a psychological shadow over sharing a bed with another man.

Seeing that the man still refused to leave, Wen Yuhuai pushed him toward the door. “If you don’t want to freeze for a night, leave early. There’s no place for you to sleep here.”

Lin Shiyu simply occupied the sofa outside. “I’ll just sleep here. I won’t fight you for the bed.”

Wen Yuhuai’s tone cooled. “Are you leaving or not?”

The reason he still treated him as a friend was that he hadn’t seen a clear intention toward himself from the man. He really didn’t want to provoke another gay man, especially one who was a main character.

Lin Shiyu also knew he was getting a bit carried away today. He raised his hands in a gesture of surrender. “I’m going, I’m going. I’m leaving right now. Don’t be angry.”

But just as he reached the door and his hand hadn’t even touched the handle, a knock came from outside.

“Brother Wen, are you asleep?”

It was He Yu.

The one who had dared to provoke him that morning. The expression on Lin Shiyu’s face instantly turned cold, and he looked quite intimidating.

Before the person behind him could react, Lin Shiyu opened the door directly, meeting those smiling eyes outside.

However, once the person saw him, the smile in his eyes clearly cooled. Yet, a smile still tugged at the corners of his mouth. “Mr. Lin is here too. Where’s Brother Wen? Is he inside?”

Wen Yuhuai responded from inside, “I’m here.”

He Yu squeezed past Lin Shiyu’s shoulder and entered, placing the soup he was carrying on the table. “My mom stewed old hen soup tonight. She didn’t wait for you to come back, so she specially packed a portion for me to bring over. It’s still hot; you can drink it right away, Brother Wen.”

Since the soup had already been brought over, Wen Yuhuai naturally couldn’t refuse. He said thank you and prepared to see the guest out.

But He Yu didn’t turn to leave. Instead, he looked at Lin Shiyu. “When is Mr. Lin leaving? How about we leave together?”

Lin Shiyu’s gaze was bone-chilling. He had felt this kid’s attitude toward A-Yu was off that morning, and now he had the guts to come at night.

Instead of being angry, he smiled, his lips curling almost imperceptibly. “No need. I’m not leaving tonight.” He shouldn’t come hanging around his person like a lapdog.

The smile on He Yu’s face faded a bit, and a hint of gloom appeared in his eyes. Yet he still responded as usual, “That’s not very good, is it? Brother Wen’s room is small; it’ll be cramped for two people. It just so happens there’s an empty room inside; how about Mr. Lin stays there for the night?”

Lin Shiyu still looked at him with a half-smile, but his words were enough to make one imagine things. “No need. We’re used to sleeping together.”

Translator’s Note: Lin Shiyu’s “The temple is too small for a big Buddha” (åŗ™å°å®¹äøäø‹å¤§ä½›) comment is so classic. He’s totally marking his territory! And that last line… “We’re used to sleeping together” (ęˆ‘ä»¬éƒ½ē”ä¹ ęƒÆäŗ†). He’s trying to make He Yu think they’ve already been together. So catty!
