Part 2
Chu Yang raised his hand to interrupt, casually telling a lie: “Sorry, I’ll have a girlfriend very soon. Thank you for your feelings. I’ll be going now.”
Chu Yang quickened his pace. The person who had confessed was so stunned by the phrase “will have a girlfriend very soon” that they failed to chase after him.
Chu Yang drove to the airport. It was currently 10:00 AM, and Zhou Ningyu was expected to arrive at 10:30 AM. Having nothing to do, he started a game in the parking lot to wait for her.
Meanwhile—[School Forum]—
OP: [I’M GOING CRAZY!! This is truly the end. Who exactly got with Chu Yang behind my back?? Who seduced him?! I watch him every day and I haven’t seen any other girls around him! AAAAAHH!]
[Upstairs, stop acting crazy so early in the morning. You probably just dreamed Chu Yang was with someone else and came here to scare us, right?]
[I envy those who are still asleep and haven’t heard this firsthand disaster. Haha… haha… My heart is shattered/splitting/teeth-grinding/tears-streaming/pounding the table!!]
[What happened? Stop teasing. If you don’t say it, I’ll assume OP is just multi-accounting to hype things up. Don’t try to ruin our Chu Yang Gege’s reputation!]
[Exactly. Chu Yang has no classes today. He’s definitely still asleep.]
[Chu Yang just left the dorm, hehe… A guy confessed to him, hehe… He rejected him and said he’ll have a girlfriend very soon, hehe AAAAAHHH! I can’t take it. Just remembering it makes me want to die. Who allowed him to have a girlfriend?! Who exactly is she?! Who’s been secretly ambiguous with him behind my back!]
[Wait, is this real? Details, details. Otherwise, I absolutely won’t believe it.]
[I can witness it’s real. I just passed by… and heard it. That guy confessed and said Chu Yang hasn’t dated so his orientation isn’t certain, and Chu Yang said he’d have a girlfriend very soon T_T]
[It’s true… The guy who got rejected is still crying in the cafeteria. Wailing… He even ate two bowls of porridge. Tears as side dishes for porridge…]
[Upstairs, I’m not in the mood for jokes right now. I’m really going to cry. I’m refreshing the post every ten seconds, and seeing more and more witnesses is breaking my heart.]
[Wait, this isn’t his usual wake-up time! Could he be going to pick up his girlfriend? I really can’t take this. Can one of you go follow him (sorry I’m really going crazy…)]
[I was dragged out of bed by my roommate’s howling to watch this. So is this true? If it is, I need to celebrate, hehehe…]
[Upstairs, what do you mean??? Are you crazy??]
[I get it. The person upstairs must be a dead straight man.]
[Guessed right! Finally, Chu Yang is dating. Only when he’s dating can we pursue other girls. Eight out of ten girls I pursued before liked him. I’m the one truly on the verge of collapse.]
[Chu Yang, thank you for letting us go!]
[Whoa, you pursued that many and you still think you’re in the right??]
[Kick the straight men out! Why does a bunch of classless things get to look at Chu Yang’s forum!!]
[I’m just learning the male god’s fashion style~ My goddess told me to.]
[Holy shit, are you sure you’re not a closet case? Calling my husband “male god”—are you being a bitch or just being sarcastic?]
[I’m just following my goddess’s lead, hehe. Continue your breakdown, I’m going back to sleep.]
[As expected, so bitchy. Your goddess will never like you!]
The “crying thread” was long, but most people still didn’t believe it, thinking Chu Yang only said it because he was being continuously confessed to by men.
However, the people in his dorm didn’t think that way. They still felt something was off.
Lin Zhiheng sneered at the two people scrolling through the forum and called Chu Yang directly.
Chu Yang saw it, but since he was in the middle of a team fight, he didn’t answer. By the time the team fight was over, the call had ended. He only called back after destroying the enemy Nexus.
During those two-plus minutes when he didn’t return the call, Lin Zhiheng had already checked his step count and Ant Forest. There were no changes, and his energy hadn’t increased.
Yet he still couldn’t help himself. His hand shook as he refreshed several times, almost unable to control the gloominess within him until Chu Yang’s call came through.
Only then did he take a deep breath, click accept, and start the recording. A clear, pleasant voice rang out— “Is something the matter?”
Lin Zhiheng’s jaw tightened slightly, but his voice was normal: “Just a small thing. About what time are you coming back? Could I trouble you to pick something up for me?”
“What is it? I won’t be back until just before class.”
Lin Zhiheng: “Then it’s fine. I’ll go get it myself.”
“Okay.” Chu Yang hung up, not thinking much of it.
He didn’t know that after he hung up, Lin Zhiheng put on his earphones and listened to the recording several times. He didn’t hear any background noise on Chu Yang’s end, which made him relax slightly. But a second later, he felt something was wrong—the call was less than a minute long; it was normal not to hear other sounds.
And so, he grew anxious again.
…
10:40 AM.
Chu Yang met Zhou Ningyu. She hadn’t changed at all—red lips, curly hair, sunglasses on as she walked toward him with a very crisp gait. A male assistant followed behind her.
Before she even reached him, she reached out her hand toward Chu Yang.
Chu Yang also opened his arms and hugged her: “Sister.”
Zhou Ningyu was over 1.7 meters tall, not to mention she was wearing high heels. As she hugged Chu Yang, she lowered her head and took a deep sniff: “Still so fragrant. You’ve grown taller.”
“Where’s the fragrance? You’re teasing me again.” Chu Yang’s face reddened slightly as he let go.
Many people often said he smelled good. Initially, he even recommended hair and body care products, but those people said that wasn’t it. He couldn’t smell it himself at all, so he figured they were just teasing him.
Zhou Ningyu took off her sunglasses to look at him closely. Chu Yang met her gaze, and neither felt anything was wrong until passersby began to turn their heads frequently.
Only then did Chu Yang react. Touching his ear, he said a bit awkwardly, “I drove here. The car is in the parking lot. Let’s head over.”
“Okay.” Zhou Ningyu followed him. Chu Yang wanted to help the assistant with a suitcase, but she wouldn’t let him. She tucked her arm into his and pulled him to the side. “Let me see what it feels like to hold a college student’s arm.”
Chu Yang: “…” Fine.
He didn’t struggle. They soon arrived at the parking lot. He helped the assistant stuff the suitcases into the trunk, while Zhou Ningyu was already in the passenger seat.
Chu Yang was still the one driving. He told Zhou Ningyu about the restaurant they were going to and asked for her opinion.
“Sure, as long as it’s good. I’m free all day today; I can even accompany you to your school to take a look,” Zhou Ningyu said with a smile.
After buckling her seatbelt, her gaze lingered on Chu Yang.
“No rush. Aren’t you staying for a few months? Come to my school after you’ve rested well.” Chu Yang responded. He glanced at the rearview mirror and locked eyes with the assistant in the back seat. The man’s eyes held no emotion behind his glasses; he looked like a total elite.
Chu Yang felt something was off. This “offness” was resolved at the dining table when the assistant “boldly” served food to Zhou Ningyu.
So he was Sister’s partner.
Chu Yang took a few more looks, then lowered his head to eat seriously.
Zhou Ningyu watched him for a while before she couldn’t help but laugh. Meeting Chu Yang’s dazed eyes, she curled her lips: “What? Are you unhappy to see that Sister has a partner?”
Chu Yang was stunned, then his face turned red: “I didn’t…”
Zhou Ningyu looked at him meaningfully: “How could you not? Didn’t you say before that your ideal type was someone like me?”
“Or is it that Sister isn’t pretty anymore?”
“How is that possible? You’re still very beautiful…” Chu Yang said immediately.
“Oh—so your ideal type is still like me? I thought you liked the ‘little sister’ types. Still don’t have a girlfriend?”
Chu Yang shook his head: “No. I just started university.”
“You’ve just been kept under too strict a thumb by your brother. Sister will take good care of you these next few days.”
Previously, Chu Yang was too young, so Zhou Ningyu didn’t want to lead the kid astray. Now it was different; Chu Yang was an adult and had become even more handsome. He would still blush in front of girls, which was truly rare.
