The Straight Man Is A Heartthrob Again Chapter 7

Chapter 7: Livestream

When it came to playing games, Chu Yang planned to clock in some livestreaming hours.

Yin Lianchuan nodded. “Sure. I haven’t touched the equipment; you can connect directly.”

Chu Yang paused. “You never use it? Then what did you buy it for?”

He tinkered with the settings; it really was exactly as he had set it up before. This equipment had been here since the first time he visited after he started streaming.

At the time, Yin Lianchuan said he wanted to try it out after seeing him stream. But up until now, Chu Yang was the only one who had ever used it. It was exactly as he had left it.

Yin Lianchuan was currently cutting fruit. He didn’t stop what he was doing and had his own excuse ready: “I didn’t really feel like playing later. Felt like a hassle.”

He had bought a very good set of equipment, and the price wasn’t cheap. After fiddling with it and getting it connected, Chu Yang turned around and said, “How about you sell this set to me? Better than letting it gather dust here when I’m the only one using it.”

“How much?”

Hearing that he wanted to pay, Yin Lianchuan was a bit unhappy. He let out a “tsk.” “You’re making it sound like I’m forcing a sale on you because I don’t use it.”

“Of course not. I just want to buy it; the equipment is great.” Moreover, he wanted to buy it because he didn’t want anyone else touching this equipment.

Yin Lianchuan had known him for so long; how could he not know his thoughts? “Use it whenever you want. We don’t need to be so calculative. Besides, aside from you, I wouldn’t let anyone else touch my things.”

Chu Yang laughed at that and joked, “Who knows if you’ll get a better ‘bro’ one day, or a partner.”

Yin Lianchuan looked into his smiling eyes and said with feigned lightness, “How about we just ‘keep it in the family’? Neither of us wants kids anyway.”

“…I don’t want kids, but I’m not interested in men.” After saying that, Chu Yang thought for a moment and tilted his head to look at him. “Do you like men?”

Yin Lianchuan gave him a deep look but didn’t follow up on his question. Instead, he asked, “You say you’re not interested in men, but I don’t see you dating any girls either.”

“I was busy studying before, and now I’m busy making money.” He paused at that and then nodded seriously. “You’re right. I really should get into a relationship.”

Yin Lianchuan’s face froze. This was truly shooting himself in the foot. If Chu Yang wanted to date now, he’d definitely be looking for a girl. He immediately changed his tune: “Actually, these things depend on fate. It’s not good to date too early; you might miss the right person.”

Chu Yang: “…You certainly have an answer for everything.”

The two sat down at the computer desk. Chu Yang started the stream. Yin Lianchuan set out two portions of fruit, opened his phone, and said he was going to get drinks, asking Chu Yang to pick a hero for him.

Chu Yang nodded. “Sure. What do you want to play?”

“Yao. I’ll attach myself to you.”

[Livestream Room]

[Hubby!! Why did the stream start so suddenly!]

[Sexy Xiao Yang streaming late at night. He must be unable to sleep because he misses us.]

[Or he might just be unable to sleep and want to play games while clocking some hours. Do I not know my hubby?]

[If only he really couldn’t sleep and wanted to play. If Xiao Yang were in pajamas, I’d just go for it. But can someone tell me what this is?? Who allowed him to be dressed so tightly? Who bought our hubby those clothes? They’re not sheer enough! Don’t hide my hubby’s abs!]

[Family, has the baby unlocked a new scene? This place doesn’t look familiar. There are two portions of fruit on the desk. It seems hubby isn’t spending the night alone. He hasn’t gone and gotten a girlfriend, has he???]

[Please no. If he really has a girlfriend, my heart will break. I really like Xiao Yang so much. If he has a girlfriend, how can I be his ‘dream girl’?]

[New here, aren’t you? Don’t overthink it. This is the ‘Firstborn Friend’s’ territory!]

[The Firstborn Friend is the legitimate eldest ‘brother.’ It’s a pity he’s not at the same school as Xiao Yang baby; otherwise, I’d really want to see him ‘sell off’ those ‘bomb’ roommates.]

[The Firstborn Friend is so useless.]

Yin Lianchuan returned to the computer desk and set down the drinks. Chu Yang handed his phone back to him. Both had picked their heroes and were waiting to enter the game.

Yin Lianchuan didn’t mind being on camera. He pulled his chair back a bit so he could be closer to Chu Yang. He glanced at the lens. “Are there still fans in your stream who recognize me?”

“Of course. They even call you the ‘Firstborn Friend’ and the ‘Legitimate Eldest Brother,’ and want you to sell off the others.” Chu Yang knew they were playing with the “legitimate vs. concubine” tropes; it was quite interesting.

Yin Lianchuan also laughed. He was very close to Chu Yang and could smell the pleasant scent on him. “I’d have to see if you’re willing to let me send anyone away. Otherwise, how would I dare?”

Chu Yang gave a snort of laughter. “Stop being poor.”

Chu Yang was playing the Jungler, while the Yao played by Yin Lianchuan was the Support. As soon as the game started, Yin Lianchuan followed Chu Yang into the jungle with great purpose.

But within a minute, the Marksman in the bottom lane gave up first blood and fell in the river.

Chu Yang frowned and glanced at the map. Just as he was about to tell Yin Lianchuan to go follow the Marksman, the Marksman turned on their mic.

“F*ck! I’m sick of meeting dog couples all night. If you’re a couple, why not go to a hotel? Why play games? This Yao is only level three and is already sticking to the Jungler. Hilarious. I bet she’s just going to hang onto his head the whole time and never come down, right?”

“I’m telling you women, if you can’t play, then don’t. What kind of hero is that? No competitive spirit at all.”

Chu Yang’s expression immediately soured. But he didn’t intend to argue back. He and Yin Lianchuan did indeed have a “Couple” tag, but this person starting off with “hotel” and “women” clearly said this kind of thing often.

Even if Chu Yang argued, it would be useless—a pure waste of time. If the next game didn’t go their way, this person would surely curse the same way.

Yin Lianchuan didn’t react much. Being called a couple with Chu Yang actually made him quite happy. He looked at Chu Yang’s cold profile. “I’m not going with him. That guy has a foul mouth. If I go with him, he might think he’s something special and rush in to feed.”

Chu Yang: “Mm.”

His thin lips were pressed together, and his brows were lowered as he stared at his phone. He was clearly unhappy. Even his knuckles gripping the phone were tight. His fingers slid across the screen with incredible speed, his face full of killing intent. Those who didn’t know better would think he was out to kill his own foul-mouthed Marksman.

The chat panned even faster seeing Chu Yang’s cold profile~

[For some reason, I really love seeing Xiao Yang’s cold face. Truly such a ‘dominant’ vibe. Wifey, wifey, you are my wifey.]

[If Xiao Yang saw someone calling him ‘wifey,’ he’d probably faint from shock.]

[Gege, don’t be mad. Gege, big hugs.]

[He really looks even better when he’s angry. Gege’s eyes are so dark and bright; I feel like he could look up and scold me at any moment.]

[Hubby’s fingers are even tensed. Let me lick them.]

[Wifey, pinch me…]

[Wifey, I want to…]

[As expected, this hour is… the right time… for ‘action.’ I’m going to hold it until wifey looks up at me.]

[I only ever dare to post these dirty comments when Xiao Yang is too busy to look at the chat… Wifey, when you have that cold face, I really want to ‘devour’ you.]

[Wifey, can you use that expression to ‘ride’ me hard on the bed?]

[Wifey can be on top or on the bottom, as long as I’m ‘inside.’ /Dog head emoji.jpg]

[God, the ‘Firstborn Friend’ must be loving this. Forget the Couple tag; now they’re being called a ‘dog couple’ for real. Yang-bao has always been the one people cling to in games; when has he ever been scolded as a ‘dog couple’? This tag has finally fulfilled its true purpose…]

[LMAO, I feel like the Firstborn Friend is still losing. If it were really Yang-bao’s girlfriend, Yang-bao might have cursed back. A pity the Firstborn Friend is a man, so Yang-bao feels no need to explain to a crazy person. Firstborn Friend… what a loss!]

By now, both Chu Yang and Yin Lianchuan were level four. Yin Lianchuan attached himself to Chu Yang. He barely looked at the screen; most of his attention was on Chu Yang.

Chu Yang was very serious about the game, though he didn’t care too much about winning or losing. Of course, with his skill, he rarely lost.

Chu Yang was just about to head to the bottom lane for a gank. The Marksman didn’t wait for him and died again, immediately starting to grumble once more. The two of them instinctively muted him.

Chu Yang, with Yin Lianchuan in tow, glided over like a shadow. He chased them under the turret, his fingers flying across the screen. He secured a double kill directly under the turret and then floated back into the jungle with Yin Lianchuan.

Except for the Marksman, the other two teammates gave him a “Like.” Yin Lianchuan also gave one, but that wasn’t enough. He deliberately typed in the public chat: [Gege is so amazing.]

Chu Yang’s eyelids flickered as he saw it, and he subconsciously let out a smile. His cold expression shattered in an instant, and those brilliant eyes curved up beautifully.

Yin Lianchuan’s heart trembled, and he subconsciously smiled along with him, completely unaware that Chu Yang had entered a new round of combat.

Chu Yang was being besieged by four people. After a series of maneuvers, he secured a triple kill, but under the combined assault, Yin Lianchuan’s Yao was knocked off. He was too busy looking at Chu Yang’s face to notice. He stood still like a statue and was beaten to death.

Before he died, Chu Yang circled around him twice but never saw him re-attach. He didn’t care; he naturally killed those people to avenge Yin Lianchuan and went back to jungling.

“Did you lag?” He asked this one question without looking back or even lifting his eyes. Casual, yet charming—his heart was entirely in the game. He seemed like such a “player” yet so soulful.

“…Yeah, lagged for a bit.” Yin Lianchuan only looked down at his phone for a moment. Respawning would take another dozen seconds…

Mm, he’d continue staring at Chu Yang.

Seeing that the Yao was dead, the Marksman mocked him a few more times. But with Chu Yang’s skill right there, he couldn’t say anything too nasty.

From the start of the game until now, only his voice had been heard. Both Chu Yang and Yin Lianchuan had their mics off. After a while, he realized that these people might have chosen to mute him.

He immediately switched to text to start cursing Yin Lianchuan.

[SexX: The Jungler isn’t bad. Any support could be carried by him. This Yao is hilarious—standing still and getting beaten to death. If you can’t play, then don’t, okay?]

[SexX: Playing like that, you might as well just be beside your boyfriend massaging his legs.]

Chu Yang saw it and was prepared to reply. This person was really too much. Just as he was about to respond, Yin Lianchuan pressed his hand down. “You play yours. I’ll reply to him myself. He has zero combat power.”

[III: I am indeed very bad. It’s all thanks to my Gege carrying me.]

[III: I have Gege to avenge me.]

[III: How did you know I’m waiting on Yang-gege right now? O!O]

After replying, he just happened to respawn. With one hand, he controlled his character to run to the jungle and attach to Chu Yang; with the other, he picked up a piece of cut fruit and fed it to Chu Yang’s mouth.

A literal “waiting on.”

The Marksman choked and immediately replied: [LMAO, then you must be exceptionally ugly. What kind of couple would be playing games at this hour?]

[With you beside him, he can still play so calmly. His mind is entirely on the game; he probably doesn’t even want to look at you.]

Yin Lianchuan’s face instantly darkened.

Chu Yang looked on with impatience and replied: [Prettier than you.]

[If you’re too bad, don’t play. If you love cursing people so much, go host a cursing competition. You might actually win a few rounds.]

Then he pinged two spots on the map: [Push fast.]

A team fight just happened to break out. The Marksman didn’t have the energy to reply to Chu Yang’s words. He was staring at the screen, preparing for a series of maneuvers to show Chu Yang that he wasn’t bad, just being dragged down. He managed a two-for-two trade and immediately went to reply to Chu Yang. He was just about to hit send when he saw the enemy’s crystal explode under Chu Yang’s assault.

“Victory!”
