Chapter 115: Playing the Pig to Eat the Tiger – Scum Abuse Operation (2)
[7 PM, No. 336, 12th Street]
Paimi’s eyes lit up.
Catching the boss of the fighting arena probably wouldn’t be that easy.
They needed to find a breach.
Before coming to the West District, An had booked a short-term rental for them.
Although it couldn’t compare to Hundred Dreams, or even the dormitories at Ares, it was at least clean, tidy, and very quiet and peaceful.
However, when Paimi stood in the room, cold sweat poured down his back.
Du Xun was grinding coffee, and Shen Zhuo was sitting on the side table chatting with Ai Li.
The atmosphere in the room was harmonious, and neither of them was wearing pheromone blocking patches.
High-level pheromones naturally leaked out.
Seeing Paimi take off his shoes and enter, Shen Zhuo put down his phone and gestured for him to sit anywhere.
Paimi, however, was like a startled bird, hurriedly responding in a loud voice.
Only then did he realize all the muscles in his body had gone stiff.
Although he didn’t have as high a rank as Black Eagle, he had never feared anyone’s rank in the West District.
But here, in the presence of these two wealthy young masters with faces like jade and extraordinary temperaments, he felt fear.
That glandular energy was more powerful than anyone he had ever seen.
He felt as if he were looking at two majestic, sprawling mountain ranges. Quiet, peaceful, divine mountains overlooking the mortal world.
“Th… that… did you two call me here to…”
Paimi lowered his head, his gaze timidly peeking out from beneath his brows.
Was it S2? Or perhaps the even higher S3?
“I can give you money, or I can give you other things,” Shen Zhuo looked at him, accepting the coffee Du Xun handed over. “I have one requirement.”
Paimi bowed his head even lower. “Please speak.”
In front of such people, Paimi put away his usual tough attitude. He only wanted to lower his head again and again.
Shen Zhuo sensed Paimi’s discomfort.
The young man tapped his fingertips lightly on the tabletop. “Look up.”
Paimi shuddered subconsciously and immediately looked up at the young man.
What he saw was Shen Zhuo resting his chin on his hand, eyes curving in a smile at him.
“We are making a trade; you don’t need to bow your head to me.”
Du Xun placed a cup of coffee by Paimi’s hand, his attitude equally calm. “Don’t be nervous.”
Paimi subconsciously gripped the coffee cup tight and took a fierce gulp.
It was full of bitterness.
He drank too fast to taste anything other than the bitterness, but fortunately, it steadied his mind a little.
“Whatever you say, I will listen.”
Shen Zhuo took out a cheque for one million that he had prepared earlier from the other side and pushed it in front of Paimi.
“There are three days left until the free fighting season ends. Do you want to win that five hundred million?”
Clearly, the young man had no particular expression. Yet, in those eyes as calm as a deep pool, Paimi saw a hint of seduction.
“Impossible,” the man shook his head. “Black Eagle is an S1.”
“As long as you want to, I can help you. But if you retreat first, I can only…”
The young man made a move to retract his hand.
The cheque was pinned down with a “snap” at the very last second.
A flame-like fighting spirit ignited in Paimi’s eyes.
How could he not want to win?
His Omega daughter was so seriously ill; just the treatment cost five thousand a day.
How could he wish to lose?
At worst…
At worst, he would sell his soul to the devil before him.
“What do you want to do?”
Paimi revealed the look Shen Zhuo wanted to see.
The young man smiled faintly. “Don’t worry. No matter what happens, I will make you win.”
Shen Zhuo briefly explained the plan, and finally casually mentioned the most beautiful scenic spots in the West District—he certainly hadn’t forgotten that he and Du Xun were here to take wedding photos.
Paimi’s eyes instantly brightened.
“I used to be a tour guide in the West District. If you two want to tour, I can arrange everything for free.”
The man scratched his head in embarrassment.
“I don’t have anything else to repay you two with. As long as I can get the money to save my daughter…”
“I will do anything.”
Shen Zhuo pursed his lips and didn’t speak, but after Paimi finished, he sent a message to Liang Yeta.
Jingyue Group had recently been stepping into the medical industry and cooperating with many large hospitals. Liang Yeta had significant connections.
A reply came back saying they could look into it.
Shen Zhuo placed his phone face down on the table. He didn’t plan to tell Paimi just yet, to prevent him from losing his fighting spirit.
When Paimi finally left, he promised again and again to complete his task as brilliantly as possible, holding the cheque with a thousand thanks.
Only when the door closed did Shen Zhuo close his eyes and look at Du Xun.
“We can save this place, right?”
“We can.”
The small wavering in his heart was instantly soothed by a single word.
Du Xun walked forward, bent down, and cupped the young man’s face.
“The worst-case scenario is armed suppression, but that is also the easiest method. It’s merely the West District.”
The Empire’s Commander-in-Chief was never an empty title.
An S5 Alpha was born with absolute control capabilities.
Even the most arrogant words, when spoken by him, signified that he had the ability to back them up.
“My wife, just the two of us are enough.”
Shen Zhuo suddenly realized he was overthinking things, treating everyone around him as if they were the formidable enemies he met in the capital.
Shen Zhuo took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.
His eyelashes trembled, and the covered eye color had already become as plain as water.
“Why don’t you guess, my wife, when that boss will come looking for us?”
Du Xun sat next to Shen Zhuo, sipping his coffee unhurriedly.
Tonight was destined to be a sleepless one.
Shen Zhuo moved his gaze to the door, the corners of his lips hooking up in a subtle smile.
“Now.”
Knock, knock, knock—!
The knock on the door rang out abruptly before Shen Zhuo’s voice had even fallen.
Du Xun and Shen Zhuo applied their pheromone blocking patches and got up to open the door.
The high-level pheromones in the air were completely cleaned up.
Combined with the very convincing fake identities created by An, the person who entered only called out when he saw Du Xun:
“Mr. Du.”
Du Xun hadn’t heard this form of address in a long time.
The person wasn’t the boss, just someone who looked like a bodyguard.
“Mr. Shen.” The man bowed his head slightly toward the room as well.
“Our boss invites you.”
Shen Zhuo stood up and adjusted his clothes. Under the man’s surprised gaze, he walked to Du Xun’s side.
Du Xun looked at the man. “Lead the way.”
The bodyguard hadn’t expected these two young masters to move so easily.
They really were, as the boss said, easy targets with too much money.
The two sat in the back seat; Du Xun hadn’t even brought a gun.
So, when they arrived at the destination and were searched, no one suspected them of having any dangerous capabilities.
The car stopped outside a three-story shipping container that didn’t look particularly special.
But upon entering, they discovered a different world inside.
The interior was luxuriously decorated; the price of the decorations could rival Hundred Dreams.
In a single room alone, the collection of items was worth more than a hundred million.
“Please.”
The bodyguard pushed open the door on the third floor, inviting the two to enter.
Shen Zhuo stepped in first, while Du Xun fully assumed the role of the quiet background figure.
Hearing the sound, the boss turned around with a smile.
Smoke from the cigar in his hand curled upwards, flickering as he inhaled.
“Gentlemen, please sit.”
Shen Zhuo’s persona here was a rich young master with a bad temper, so after sitting down, he crossed his legs.
“Skip the pleasantries. What do you want?”
The boss was surprised by Shen Zhuo’s directness, and a smile immediately crept up to the corners of his eyes.
“Naturally, I have a business deal I’d like to discuss with you two.”
The boss’s smile deepened as he emphasized:
“A profitable, good business deal.”
“But we don’t lack money.” Shen Zhuo propped his elbow on the chair armrest, resting his chin in his hand, looking completely uninterested.
He seemed… to hear some noise.
“Who would complain about having too much money?” The boss took something from behind him and placed it on the table. “You two can take a look at this first before deciding.”
On the table was a vial of pale blue liquid.
Shen Zhuo recognized it at a glance.
It was exactly the same color as the S5 treatment potion he had won at the auction.
But Shen Zhuo didn’t say he recognized it.
He simply asked back:
“What is this?”
The boss didn’t hide it either. “This is the Research Institute’s S5 treatment potion’s…”
He paused for suspense, and seeing Shen Zhuo wasn’t buying it, continued:
“Replica.”
Shen Zhuo lazily lowered his eyes. “And what does this have to do with buying and selling?”
“Of course it’s related.” The boss clapped his hands. The door opened from the outside, and Black Eagle walked in.
Black Eagle’s state was different from when he was in the ring.
Although his muscles were still quite impressive, they weren’t that exaggerated, and his eyes were a normal color.
Black Eagle didn’t speak. He took the potion from the table, tore open the packaging, and injected it directly into his arm.
In less than five seconds, Black Eagle roared, clenched his fists, and bent his body.
The muscles all over his body began to swell, expanding like a blown-up balloon.
His eyeballs became bloodshot.
The entire person entered a state of extreme excitement.
Black Eagle displayed his muscles, then turned around.
The boss stepped forward and poked Black Eagle’s muscles in front of Shen Zhuo and Du Xun.
“This potion acts as a stimulant for anyone below S5 rank, and its effect increases as the rank decreases.”
The boss looked at them playfully.
“If the rank is lower than A-rank, the body might even explode and die.”
Shen Zhuo glanced at the boss, then at Black Eagle.
He pretended to be slightly interested.
He spoke, “So, what do you want us to provide?”
The boss clasped his hands. “If you are willing, you can choose a gladiator in my club, buy this potion, and let them go on stage to compete.”
“All costs for treatment after injuries will be mine, and all the prize money won will belong to you two.”
Shen Zhuo tapped his crossed leg.
His fingers combed through his dark hair.
Then he raised his hand, extended a finger, and pointed at Black Eagle.
“Then I want him.”
The boss smiled apologetically. “I’m afraid that won’t work. Black Eagle is retiring from the fighting arena after this season. You gentlemen should pick someone else.”
Shen Zhuo thought for a moment.
“The person competing against him today—what’s his name?”
“Paimi. He is a new talent in the club, and his strength is also very good.” A gleam of shrewdness flashed in the boss’s eyes. “You won’t go wrong choosing him.”
Hearing this, Shen Zhuo already roughly understood the trap.
It was nothing more than letting them taste the sweetness of earning a little money through Paimi, leading them to frantically buy potions to cultivate Paimi and bet on him.
Then, at the critical moment, Paimi would fight Black Eagle.
Paimi would lose, and lose thoroughly.
They would buy more potions to make Paimi stronger, but the final result would still be defeat.
Smart ones would cut their losses in time.
Greedy ones would likely lose their entire fortune.
Once the deal was made, they became gamblers.
And the boss was also gambling—gambling on their insatiable greed, gambling that he would make a massive profit.
Shen Zhuo’s expression was indifferent, revealing no thoughts on the surface.
“Acceptable.”
The boss immediately extended his hand, wanting to shake hands with Shen Zhuo.
Shen Zhuo, however, sat there without moving an inch.
“If the person I choose loses, can I or my husband compete?”
Shen Zhuo paused. “Both my husband and I are very interested in free fighting.”
The boss glanced at Du Xun, then imperceptibly glanced at the pheromone detector in the room.
Neither of their pheromone values exceeded A-rank.
Even with the potion, they wouldn’t be enough for Black Eagle to beat.
Truly foolish young masters with too much money and no knowledge of the world, being so interested in fighting.
The boss didn’t suspect anything; the pheromone detector he bought was the latest product and couldn’t be wrong.
He relaxed his brow, revealing smoke-stained yellow teeth.
“Of course.”
