The Stunning Omega of the Commander Tears the Cannon Fodder Script chapter 151

Chapter 151: “I’ve Stuck Myself to You; You Have to Have Me.”

South Sea Command.

The hospital next to the Command Center was overcrowded; even the ICUs were at full capacity.

The South Sea had flying-type Zerg, which were the hardest type to fight beneath the humanoid Zerg.

Ai Li pressed the call button next to him. A moment later, a doctor arrived and helped him remove the IV from the back of his hand.

Ai Li pointed to his eyes. Because he had overused his [Ji Mu] (Ultimate Sight) ability, the blood vessels had nearly burst. When he returned to the Command Center, his face was covered in bloody tears, and he couldn’t even see clearly five meters away.

“When can the bandages come off?” Ai Li smiled toward the doctor. “And what about Deputy Commander Ji? It’s been so many days and you still won’t tell me where he is. You just say his life isn’t in danger. I want to see him.”

Since their relationship began, Ai Li and Ji Weishen never intended to hide it from anyone. Thus, almost everyone who knew them was aware that the two were a couple soon to be wed.

The doctor cleared away Ai Li’s IV bag before saying:

“Your eyes need at least another week to recover. You don’t need to worry about Deputy Commander Ji.”

Ai Li’s originally cheerful expression stiffened slightly. He called out to the doctor who was about to leave: “Please wait a moment.”

“Is there something else?”

The fingers Ai Li had tucked under his sleeves tightened. “Is something wrong with Ji Weishen? Is that why you won’t tell me?”

The doctor immediately denied it. “The Deputy Commander is out of danger. If you wish to go, you can go after your bandages are removed.”

The youth, who was usually like a fish in water in social situations, had already harbored suspicions the first time he was told Ji Weishen was fine. The words didn’t make him forget the doctor’s tone. It was clearly the tone of someone hiding something.

Ai Li took a deep breath. Even with his eyes covered, his determination was clear.

“I can accept missing arms or legs. Please, just say it.”

War was so cruel; less than one-tenth of people survived. Ai Li had long since prepared himself. At worst, he would just take care of Ji Weishen for the rest of his life. He had the money.

“…” The doctor was silent for a while. “In that case, you should go directly.”

Ai Li tilted his chin, not understanding why the doctor had suddenly agreed to let them meet. But someone immediately stepped forward to support his arm and quietly led the way.

Ji Weishen’s ward wasn’t far from his, about five or six rooms away. Before he even entered, he heard Xie Zhen’s voice.

Ai Li made a “shh” gesture to the person beside him, letting the nurse leave first. He stood outside the door, holding his breath to listen.

“The Research Institute has already developed bionic limbs; they’ll feel just like the real thing once they’re on.”

Xie Zhen uncovered Ji Weishen’s blanket and looked at the bandaged wound. “Don’t worry too much. It’s only the lower leg.”

Ji Weishen gave a bitter laugh. “I’m not worried about the leg. Can the medicine you brought me prevent scarring?”

Xie Zhen covered him back up. “Scars are an Alpha’s medals. They aren’t ugly.”

Ji Weishen fell silent, only speaking again after a few minutes:

“In any case, thank you for making the trip. How are the others?”

“They’re all alive.” Xie Zhen patted his shoulder. “In this war, being alive is already the best thing. I have to head back to the Institute now. I’ll come see you all again once you return to the Imperial Capital.”

Xie Zhen gave some final instructions regarding precautions. When he turned to leave, he saw Ai Li standing at the door. The man’s gaze swept back and forth between Ji Weishen and Ai Li. He didn’t mention anything, only saying:

“Rest well. See you next time.”

Ai Li was in no mood for a proper farewell; he nodded randomly. “Sorry, I’m going in.”

If the Ji Weishen on the bed was visibly stunned upon hearing Ai Li’s voice, then—seeing the youth run in and nearly hit the wall because he couldn’t see—Ji Weishen lunged out of bed. He reached out both hands and pulled Ai Li into his embrace just before he hit.

Along with the clattering fall of the IV stand, both fell heavily. The needle in the back of Ji Weishen’s hand was ripped out, and it immediately began to bleed.

But the Alpha didn’t seem to feel it. “Did the fall hurt?”

“Refusing to let the doctor tell me your situation… were you afraid I’d worry, or afraid I wouldn’t want you?”

For no reason at all, Ai Li felt angry. He was always optimistic about everything and wouldn’t become despondent even in the face of hardship. Therefore, he hated it when people kept secrets or even lied to him under the guise of “it’s for your own good.”

He could accept it. No matter what Ji Weishen became.

Ai Li grabbed Ji Weishen’s collar, his fingers digging into his palms.

“I… I didn’t…” Ji Weishen instinctively said no, but then he thought about it—actually, he did. He wanted to hide it as long as possible, waiting until Ai Li’s eyes were better. He was afraid Ai Li would worry, and even more afraid Ai Li wouldn’t want him.

It wasn’t because he had lost his right lower leg, but…

Ji Weishen’s throat bobbed. He turned his head away.

Ai Li’s eyes were bandaged, so he couldn’t see that Ji Weishen’s face was also wrapped in gauze. Ji Weishen hadn’t forgotten why Ai Li liked him. This face was the reason Ai Li had accepted him.

But now, his face was ruined.

“I…” Ji Weishen uttered a single “I,” and his throat became so dry and sticky he couldn’t speak.

He remained silent, taking Ai Li’s hand into his palm and placing it on his gauze-wrapped face.

Ai Li’s fingertips traced up and down. “Cosplaying as a mummy won’t make me laugh.”

“I have a scar on my face, from my right eyebrow all the way to my chin.” Ji Weishen lowered his head. “I know you like my face. Now that I’m no longer good-looking, if you don’t like it, we can break—”

In the next second, his collar was suddenly gripped even tighter. Ai Li yelled right at his face: “Are you a fucking idiot?!”

Ji Weishen’s pupils shook; he had never heard Ai Li curse so directly.

Ji Weishen: “Ah… what?”

“So what if your whole face is disfigured? Is your face the only thing worth liking? Do you look down on yourself, or do you look down on me?!”

Ai Li had originally felt quite touched that Ji Weishen had lunged off the bed to save him, but now he was only filled with fire.

Damn it. For such a trivial thing.

“Break up my ass!” Ai Li roared.

Ji Weishen was dazed.

Just then, the doctor heard the commotion and opened the door. He saw the fallen IV stand and the two people on the floor, with the Omega still clutching the Alpha’s collar. They looked like they were about to fight.

The doctor let out a sharp exclamation and dragged the two of them onto the bed. “What are you doing! If you want to fight, wait until your bodies are better!”

Ai Li wasn’t that angry at first, but hearing that “if you don’t like it, we’ll break up” made him explode. He sat on the edge of the bed with his mouth pursed, not saying a word until Ji Weishen’s IV was reconnected and his wounds were checked.

Fortunately, the wounds hadn’t reopened.

“Talk things out properly. Neither of you should get too agitated; now is the time for recovery,” the doctor advised earnestly.

Ji Weishen also knew he was in the wrong. He scratched his head and reached for Ai Li’s hand. “Li-zi…”

Ai Li got angrier every time he replayed it in his mind. “Apologize to me.”

Ji Weishen said sincerely, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said the words ‘break up’.”

Ji Weishen paused, then gathered his courage: “Let’s go get our marriage certificate as soon as we’re better.”

“I’ve stuck myself to you,” Ji Weishen said. “You have to have me.”
