Chapter 18: Don’t Make Me Scold You
【Shen Zhuo: As a D-rank omega applying to the military academy, you – are you too afraid to do the same?】
After posting the comment, Shen Zhuo directly uninstalled the app.
He didn’t mind what others said about him.
But he also had no interest in opening it to see.
He went back to his room for a nap and had a light dinner in the evening.
So he didn’t know that the mysterious trending topic disappeared an hour later.
That night, General Shen Yuxin was summoned by the military headquarters for an emergency meeting.
At the time, Shen Yuxin was having a candlelight dinner with his wife.
Jiang Yuening learned of this news: “I’ll go with you.”
Shen Yuxin spoke sternly: “No, it’s too dangerous. You’ve already retired.”
Jiang Yuening put down his cutlery on the table, lowering his gaze:
“My abilities haven’t deteriorated. If anything happens, I’ll be there to back you up.”
Shen Zhuo happened to pass by and saw this scene.
This household may seem to be dominated by Shen Yuxin, with Jiang Yuening being the gentle, obedient spouse.
But in reality, the admired General Shen was henpecked.
Jiang Yuening was the one who called the shots.
“Dear, I’m doing this for your own good. This time it’s a really urgent matter, and Zhuo will soon be…”
“Shut up. It’s our anniversary today, don’t make me scold you.”
The omega lifted his eyes, his slender phoenix eyes seductive yet fierce.
Shen Yuxin had no choice but to agree, smiling indulgently: “So stubborn, you haven’t changed in all these years.”
Shen Zhuo then knocked on the door: “Are you going out?”
Jiang Yuening immediately spoke softly to the young man: “We’re going to the military headquarters. Have you had dinner? Would you like to come eat something?”
Shen Zhuo shook his head: “When are you leaving?”
“In 10 minutes, they’re coming with a helicopter. The situation is urgent.”
Shen Yuxin ate quickly, “It might take a while, your father and I may not be able to accompany you to Ares.”
As soon as he said that, the sound of rotor blades arose, the high-speed rotation emitting a thunderous roar.
The searchlight pierced the night, the bright light flashing across their eyes.
Shen Yuxin seemed to have thought of something, abruptly standing up.
The camellias in the garden outside the manor had been blown into disarray by the strong wind, the General frowning fiercely:
“Little bastard, my flowers!”
An alpha jumped down from the helicopter, Shen Zhuo didn’t recognize him, but he recognized the shoulder insignia – a colonel.
“General, I’m here to pick you up.” The alpha saluted.
Then he glanced at Jiang Yuening standing not far behind, his eyes widening slightly, and he solemnly saluted Jiang Yuening:
“Lieutenant General.”
“I’ve been retired for a long time, no need for that formality.”
Jiang Yuening smiled, taking two coats from the side.
“I’m going with you this time.”
The colonel immediately lit up, eagerly leading the way for the two.
They left in a hurry.
In the garden, half the camellias had been blown off.
Shen Zhuo actually hadn’t heard Jiang Yuening talk much about their past in the military.
Now he learned that his father had once been a lieutenant general.
At the peak of his abilities, he chose to retire.
Giving up his own dreams to raise his children.
Did it hurt to sacrifice his aspirations?
Will he, in the future, also have to do the same?
Just because he’s an omega…
Shen Zhuo shook his head, stopping his wandering thoughts.
He turned and went to the study.
Three days later, at Ares Military Academy.
In the central square, a statue of the Empire’s first general stood tall.
A crowd of students had already gathered, preparing for the entrance exam.
They clustered in groups, discussing animatedly.
Suddenly, a corner of the crowd fell silent.
Everyone stood at attention, watching as a young man stepped out of a luxurious limousine.

Chapter 19: Welcome, Xun Qing
The young man wore a practical training uniform, with a slightly fitted effect.
Accentuating his slender waist and long, straight legs.
His boots, covering his ankles, were spotlessly clean.
Shen Zhuo got out of the car, saying goodbye to Xia Dao.
The latter was reluctant to part, showering him with reminders.
Shen Zhuo quickly instructed the driver to leave.
As he was about to head to the center of the square to register, the young man noticed that almost everyone was staring at him.
Shen Zhuo ignored the gazes, walking into the crowd with a cold expression.
About 10 meters ahead, the crowd automatically parted to make way.
“That’s him, Shen Zhuo.”
“He does look good, but he’s only a D-rank, isn’t he being too presumptuous?”
“He’s just here for the experience, with his background and power, getting into the academy is just a matter of saying a word.”
“Tch, don’t put me in the same group as him, or if he drags me down, I’ll be the first to beat the crap out of him.”
Shen Zhuo didn’t really care about the vulgar comments around him.
But it was truly annoying.
So he lifted his head and looked at the alpha who said he would “beat the crap” out of him.
The alpha was fierce-looking, with terrifying muscles like a demon.
Seeing the omega staring at him, the alpha sneered condescendingly, stepping forward.
Just as his hand was about to reach out—
“Fuck, you dare look at me like that, I’m a B-rank alpha—”
“Aaah!!”
Shen Zhuo released his hand, glancing indifferently at the alpha on the ground with a dislocated arm.
“What’s wrong, B-rank alpha?”
The whispering voices around suddenly fell silent, as quiet as the winter crickets.
“Wow, so ruthless?”
A youthful voice came from behind, a bit muffled.
Shen Zhuo shifted his gaze, looking at the newcomer.
It was a flamboyant-looking omega.
With distinctive sea-blue eyes and soft, light brown hair.
A face that was ambiguous in its femininity.
Dressed in designer brands, chewing bubble gum.
He blew a bubble, popping it on the fallen alpha’s face.
“He’s notorious for bullying the weak. Hey, trash, B-rank alpha? Trying to get back at me, I’m…”
The omega paused, staring at Shen Zhuo for a moment.
Shen Zhuo almost spoke at the same time: “Ai Li.”
The omega’s eyes widened: “Shen Zhuo?!”
“I can’t believe it’s really you!”
Shen Zhuo raised an eyebrow, waving his phone: “My name is on the list.”
Ai Li waved his hand dismissively, casually draping an arm around Shen Zhuo’s shoulder:
“I didn’t check that thing.”
Just then, the alpha on the ground felt he had lost face.
He angrily tore off the bubble gum, trying to get up and attack.
Shen Zhuo grabbed Ai Li’s arm, pulling him back.
Then he lifted his leg, delivering a powerful kick.
“Aaaaah!”
The alpha curled up in pain, rolling on the ground.
Ai Li peeked out from behind Shen Zhuo.
“Tsk tsk, you just had to go and provoke our Shen Zhuo.”
“Let’s go, time to register.”
Shen Zhuo didn’t even want to spare a glance.
But he hadn’t gone far when he heard someone criticizing them.
“We’re all classmates, no need to go this far. Be merciful to those who deserve it, you—”
The person crouching on the ground to treat the alpha suddenly stopped.
Shen Zhuo’s gaze was too cold.
It was so cold that the alpha’s scent gland started to ache.
The ability to [Immune to Pain] immediately dissipated.
The alpha resumed his howling.
“Welcome.”
Shen Zhuo looked down at him from above.
Blocking the sunlight, those black eyes were indifferent, like the dark abyss:
“Xun Qing.”
