Chapter 3: Are You Ready?
Before anyone could respond, Shen Zhuo quickly added:
“I’m Shen Zhuo, 18 years old, my pheromone is lotus, and I’m currently single.”
Du Xun frowned and looked at General Shen, who turned his head and was caressing a book:
“This book is really good, isn’t it, Yueyue?”
Jiang Yuening followed along:
“Ah, yes… we’ll buy another one tomorrow.”
Du Xun: “…”
After about ten seconds, just as Shen Zhuo was about to give up, the man turned to him again, surprisingly serious:
“I have some matters to discuss with the teacher now. You can go to the marriage registry at 2 o’clock, and I’ll pick you up then.”
Shen Zhuo’s eyes lit up: “Okay, I’ll wait for you.”
Du Xun looked at Father Shen and bowed slightly:
“Teacher, the weapons depot.”
Father Shen was surprised, looking back and forth between the two, taking a long time before saying, “Okay.”
The high status of the Shen family had another reason – the imperial weapons depot was located under the Shen family estate.
The family had been the keepers of the weapons depot for generations.
After General Shen left, Jiang Yuening winked playfully at Shen Zhuo:
“Good child, you’ve chosen the best one. Your father wanted to introduce you two before.”
Shen Zhuo only now realized his brain was a bit sluggish, his face burning hot, unable to process Jiang Yuening’s words:
“What…?”
“That Du Xun, though bad-tempered on the outside, will certainly treat his beloved very well, just like your father.”
Jiang Yuening spoke solemnly:
“We’ve had our eye on him ever since he was learning mechas under your father.”
Perhaps sensing Shen Zhuo’s strange expression, Jiang Yuening came forward and pushed on his shoulders, calling out to the door:
“Xia Dou, take the young master to wash up and dress nicely, he’s going to register his marriage this afternoon.”
“Yes, madam,” Xia Dou hesitated for a moment, then secretly winked at Shen Zhuo:
The Second Prince said the wedding would be first, then the registration.
Shen Zhuo pressed the back of his hand against his flushed face, smiling wryly:
“Of course it’s not with him.”
Xia Dou was somewhat quick-witted in her work, but often a step behind in many situations.
Seeing the young master say that, she just nodded, not realizing the implication until she had helped Shen Zhuo change his clothes:
“What?! You’re going to register with the Supreme Commander?”
Shen Zhuo rubbed his ears, adjusting his tie.
“Yeah, isn’t he much better than Feng Ming?”
He had chosen a slim-fitting white suit, the tailored cut accentuating his slender waist and making him look exceptionally upright and exquisite.
His slightly longer hair was braided at the side of his head, secured with a hair accessory bearing the clan emblem of the six-winged eagle.
His eyes were slightly tilted upwards at the corners, his gaze cool and indifferent, but when he looked up at someone, there was an indescribable sexiness about it.
Shen Zhuo glanced at his watch, there were still five minutes until two o’clock.
“So…” Xia Dou tentatively asked, “Young Master, do you still like the Second Prince?”
“Now with the constant wars, the border areas are destitute, and the Insect Race has not been eradicated. The royal family has been useless for hundreds of years.”
Shen Zhuo smoothed out the slightly wrinkled sleeve, not looking up:
“What do they have besides an empty title? Greed or incompetence?”
After marrying into the royal family, Shen Zhuo had realized that they were not as glorious as they appeared on the surface.
Even if someone like Feng Ming with ability differentiation was born in the royal family, they would never go to the battlefield.
The young man stood up, his eyes and brows exuding indifference:
“When I don’t like something, I see it clearly.”
Xia Dou seemed to understand and didn’t quite understand, gently taking the young master’s hand:
“Whatever decision the young master makes, Xia Dou will support you.”
Shen Zhuo patted her reassuringly.
The voice of Du Xun came from outside the door:
“I’ve taken care of my matters, are you ready, Shen Zhuo?”
