Chapter 91: Heat Period Means Double the Cuteness
By the time Shen Zhuo’s three-day heat period ended, he had come into contact with almost every corner of the sunroom.
The bed that shook and swayed on its own.
The swing that would fly out and crash back with a gentle push.
The chair that perfectly supported his hands when kneeling.
The floor-to-ceiling glass that could transform into a whole mirror.
…
Exhausted, when Shen Zhuo woke up on the third day, his whole body was drained of strength.
He only felt a little better after Du Xun rubbed the side of his head.
Shen Zhuo wrapped himself in the quilt and turned to straddle Du Xun.
He dozed for a while longer.
Suddenly, he opened his eyes.
During this heat period, he seemed to have very few moments of clarity.
Compared to the last time on the simulated battlefield, he was sober far too little.
His memories were filled with various images of his own clinginess.
Or else it was just mosaics throughout.
“It seems to be the effect of pheromone fluctuations; Madam has been too overworked recently,” Du Xun explained softly.
Shen Zhuo bit his lip, reluctantly accepting this reason.
The state of being completely unconscious was truly a bit shameful.
An omega who only knew how to cling and do it was too debauched.
Even though he had experienced this state before, it still made Shen Zhuo blush all over.
“What is Madam shy about?”
Du Xun rubbed the boy’s hair with eyes full of doting affection.
He cupped that hot, red face.
Kissing the cheek again and again, unable to let go.
Until Shen Zhuo flusteredly pushed him away, his eyes looking very unnatural:
“Am I very annoying during my heat…”
That wasn’t like him at all.
Although he would make exceptions for Du Xun usually, but…
But he wouldn’t be so insatiable.
Thinking he didn’t like him just because Du Xun had a meeting…
It was a bit too childish.
Willful like a child.
“How could you be?” Du Xun pulled him entirely into his arms,
“My Madam is the cutest kid in the world.”
“The heat period just means double the cuteness.”
“I can’t like you enough, how could you be annoying?”
Hearing these sweet words as soon as he woke up, Shen Zhuo’s brain was about to be roasted muddled; he hurriedly pushed the person away.
He saw Du Xun looking serious and solemn.
“I did this kind of thing during my susceptibility period too. I can only say that Madam and I are a match made in heaven; we are born to be similar people.”
Equally insecure.
Equally hoping the other would never leave.
So alike.
“In my heart, whatever Madam does is cute.”
“My Madam is the cutest.”
Du Xun’s tone was actually quite proud, the tenderness on his face almost melting into water.
Shen Zhuo was burning up so much he could hardly listen anymore.
He had always been unable to resist Du Xun’s sweet talk, and could no longer respond calmly.
These few sentences made him unable to even say “Mn.”
Du Xun blinked.
He could probably guess Shen Zhuo’s thoughts.
So he turned the person around, making the omega look him in the eye.
“Every word I say is serious, absolutely no exaggeration.”
Shen Zhuo’s tongue was about to tie in knots:
“I, I know.”
Unable to push Du Xun away, he could only hug his neck and plant random kisses on the man’s face before escaping quickly to the bathroom to wash up.
As if fleeing.
Du Xun propped himself up on the bed, watching his omega’s fleeing back with a face full of smiles.
Just then, the phone on the nightstand vibrated.
Du Xun received a call from the hospital—
.
One day ago.
When Fu Qishang opened his eyes, there wasn’t a single family member by his side.
He never expected them to worry when something happened to him.
The only things that could make them worry were whether his grades had slipped, or if he had brought shame to the family.
All along, Fu Qishang thought this was the family’s test for him.
But the moment he saw Ai Li’s life.
The moment he saw his Little Uncle having a smile completely different from the omega elders in the family.
Fu Qishang suddenly felt.
Was what he believed… wrong?
Fu Qishang stared at the pale ceiling for a long time, until his eyes were dry and he felt dizzy.
Only then did he prepare to sit up and call the doctor.
But just as he raised his hand, another slightly larger hand pressed the bell for him first.
Fu Qishang turned his head, time coming to an abrupt halt.
His voice, just recovered, was still very hoarse:
“Liang Yeta?”
Liang Yeta took a step with his crutch, sitting on the hospital bed opposite Fu Qishang and closing his eyes.
Liang Yeta: “Mn.”
Liang Yeta turned his head to look at him.
“Thank you.”
Fu Qishang’s throat tightened: “Thank me for what?”
In his life, he had never received these two words.
Thank you.
For him, it was unnecessary, and impossible to obtain.
“Thank you for being willing to go to such lengths.” Liang Yeta took a deep breath, finally turning to face Fu Qishang directly.
“I heard before that you treated Shen Zhuo and Ai Li…”
The last few words didn’t need to be said.
Fu Qishang’s face turned pale then red.
“I used to be the same.”
Fu Qishang suddenly looked up.
Liang Yeta leaned against the hospital bed, his gaze distant, seeming to recall a certain afternoon.
Or perhaps a memory destined to be sealed away.
“But I found that Shen Zhuo was different from what I thought.”
“Standing there, he was like a piece of tangible oracle.”
Liang Yeta’s voice was very light, ethereal, with no place to land.
Mixed with the slight sound of wind through the window.
Fu Qishang wouldn’t think of this sentence as Liang Yeta’s whimsy.
Because he indeed, had also received the guidance of this “oracle.”
He said: “Use your own eyes to see if all this is truly correct.”
It seemed Shen Zhuo was right.
All along, he hadn’t used his own eyes to experience things; he relied forever on his family.
“You…” Fu Qishang wanted to speak but stopped.
“Jingyue Group, Liang Yeta.”
A merchant.
Fu Qishang took a deep breath.
His expression changed slightly.
“Okay, Liang Yeta.”
Fu Qishang looked at the young alpha in front of him.
Suddenly, a strong and crazy idea was born in him.
Violating the family rules he had always obeyed.
The Prince hated merchants.
Then he would be like his Little Uncle.
Insisting on being with a merchant.
As soon as this idea came out, Fu Qishang immediately had a feeling he had never had before.
A thrilling numbness rose from his tailbone, spreading to his back, up to his scalp.
Liang Yeta drank a sip of water, glancing sideways, waiting for what followed.
Fu Qishang took a few more deep breaths, looking serious:
“Can I pursue you?”
“Pfft—”
Liang Yeta almost choked to death on the water.
“You… want to take revenge on me, right?”
Fu Qishang was a very distinctive omega, actually bearing some resemblance to Ai Li.
That bright and dazzling blonde hair and deep blue eyes were indeed incredibly eye-catching.
Fu Qishang was stunned for a second upon hearing this sentence.
Just then, the doctor came in to check on his condition.
Fu Qishang took the opportunity to question Liang Yeta:
“Why would I want to take revenge on you?”
Liang Yeta wiped the water from the corner of his mouth and placed the cup on the table.
Looking at Fu Qishang’s deep blue eyes across several doctors.
“I’ve learned about the Prince; don’t you consider merchants to be the lowest status? Young Master Fu, don’t joke around.”
“I’m not joking.” Fu Qishang was surprisingly calm.
He thought that after saying those earth-shattering words just now, he would regret it immediately.
But he didn’t.
Bound by rules and regulations for so many years.
He now felt only the thrill of immorality.
Like a bird whose wings were bound and could only be a fish, now finally having the chance to spread its wings.
His heart beat much more powerfully.
He seemed to see the blue sky and freedom within reach.
The doctor gave a few instructions, saying he could be discharged after another day or two of observation, and left the ward.
Closing the door on the way out.
As the sound of the lock clicking echoed, Liang Yeta shook his head:
“Sorry, I can’t be with anyone right now.”
Someone who doesn’t know how to love must keep a distance from everyone first.
He doesn’t deserve to love now, naturally he doesn’t deserve to be loved either.
Fu Qishang’s eyes widened: “I’m pursuing you; I didn’t say you have to be with me right now.”
“Besides, am I ugly?”
Except for Little Uncle, he was the best-looking in the family.
Fu Qishang didn’t believe Liang Yeta wouldn’t even let him pursue.
Liang Yeta: “That’s not…”
Fu Qishang raised his eyebrows: “I’m just notifying you; just wait.”
That little young master temper was something Liang Yeta himself had back in the day.
Suddenly seeing this lawless look of not listening to anyone on someone else.
Liang Yeta finally realized how annoying he used to be.
Rather than annoying, it was more like…
Helpless.
Liang Yeta simply stopped talking.
Soldiers block, water covers.
But the next day, when Fu Qishang had people fill the entire ward with various flowers and jewelry.
Liang Yeta realized he had underestimated Fu Qishang.
And underestimated his former self.
So he wanted to call Shen Zhuo for help.
But remembering that Shen Zhuo was in his heat period recently and it might not be convenient to call.
So he dialed Du Xun’s phone.
He intended to ask when Shen Zhuo could manage this matter.
But after Du Xun and Shen Zhuo finished listening on speakerphone in the bathroom, Shen Zhuo rinsed his mouth and said to Liang Yeta:
“Why not try?”
Liang Yeta, facing a ward full of flowers with a headache on the other end of the phone:
“…”
Wrong.
He really knew his former self was completely wrong.
Please, someone come and make him stop for a while during his hospitalization!
“Calling who? Shen Zhuo? How is he?”
Shen Zhuo heard another voice from the other end, followed by various words like “This flower is for you,” “I’ll treat you to dinner today, what do you want to eat?” “I’ll send you something else.”
Listening to the dialogue that was exactly the same as when Liang Yeta chased people before, Shen Zhuo raised his eyebrows at Du Xun.
Du Xun shook his head, noncommittal.
Shen Zhuo said to Du Xun’s phone:
“Good luck.”
Then patted Du Xun’s arm to make him hang up.
After Shen Zhuo wiped his face, he saw Du Xun’s expression looked much happier than just now.
The boy looked the alpha up and down.
“What makes you so happy?”
Du Xun certainly wouldn’t say childish things like one less love rival.
But he was indeed thinking about how to help Fu Qishang quickly shift Liang Yeta’s gaze away from his omega.
Of course.
Not jealous.
Not jealous.
“I’m always happy.”
Du Xun stepped forward to hug the omega’s waist, lowering his head to nuzzle affectionately at his brow.
Seeing the boy squinting and smiling from the nuzzling, Du Xun felt his heart was filled.
But the relaxing time wouldn’t continue indefinitely.
Du Xun soon received a second call, and his face changed.
“Commander-in-Chief, please come to the Research Institute immediately!”
“Something… something happened!”
