Chapter 14: Class
Ten minutes later, Bai Qi sat in his seat, his breathing slightly erratic.
This was the first session of the elective course, and most of the students were unfamiliar faces. In the past, when meeting people for the first time, they would constantly turn around to look at him, and he had gotten used to it.
But today felt different.
The glances were exceptionally frequent, seemingly forcefully suppressing excitement. The air was vaguely charged, and he could constantly hear indistinct whispers—as if many people wanted to talk to him.
Bai Qi was shy and didn’t know what to do, so he avoided eye contact and focused on his pre-reading, his slender body exceptionally thin and vulnerable amidst the crowd.
Meanwhile, the class monitor yawned and pushed open the door. As soon as he entered the classroom, his gaze involuntarily passed over the crowded room, drawn to the glowing boy in the corner.
Like an elf who had fallen into the mundane world, his bone structure and skin were exquisitely beautiful, his demeanor possessing a clear transparency, yet his features were exceptionally vivid, out of place with everyone else in the classroom, as if he came from another dimension.
Just sitting there quietly, a beam of light seemed to fall on him, always the center of attention.
Countless people couldn’t help but steal glances, and upon seeing his face, they would turn their heads in shock, forcefully suppressing their excitement for fear of scaring him.
The class monitor snapped back to reality, noticing that Bai Qi’s area was filled with people, with only one empty seat beside him, nobody daring to sit next to him.
But the class monitor wasn’t shy at all; he had gotten used to this kind of scene over the past two years. He walked straight to Bai Qi’s side.
Immediately, the surrounding people looked over.
He was fearless, pointing to the empty seat amidst the various gazes: “I’d like to sit inside.”
Bai Qi looked up, the monitor’s refined face reflected in his misty, petal-like eyes.
For a moment, Bai Qi felt like he had seen a savior; his eyes brightened slightly, and he immediately stood up to let him in.
As their figures crossed, Bai Qi’s faint sweet fragrance wafted over, making the air fresher.
Sitting next to someone fragrant and soft always improved one’s mood. The class monitor sat down, finally showing a smile: “I thought you were going to take a leave today.”
Bai Qi didn’t understand the underlying meaning, honestly replying: “I’ve recovered from my fever.”
The class monitor scratched his head, then his expression turned serious, lowering his voice: “For the National Day trip in a few days, each Literature Society member can bring one person, who are you planning to bring?”
He spoke very softly, but it was no match for the people around them eavesdropping. As soon as he said those words, the area instantly fell silent.
Some people unconsciously scrolled their phones quickly, their eyes drifting towards them. Some paused their book-turning, some even removed their earphones.
Bai Qi didn’t actually know that he could bring someone. After thinking for a moment, he hesitantly asked: “Can I not bring anyone?”
The class monitor pondered: “It’s best if you bring someone. You wouldn’t believe how competitive these travel spots are. So many people are fighting over a single spot; not bringing anyone would be such a waste.”
“Besides, it’s a trip. You’re shy, so having a familiar person with you will be more convenient.”
The class monitor wasn’t lying; the travel spots were indeed very sought-after, although everyone was there for Bai Qi.
Bai Qi thought it made sense: “Then I’ll ask my roommate if he’s free.”
He silently thought; Zhang Cheng would probably be more willing to go. Having him along would make him more relaxed.
However, for some reason, as soon as he said that, the suppressed excitement around him burst, and the whispers instantly turned into noisy chatter.
Only the class monitor understood Bai Qi. Seeing his bewildered expression, he knew he probably wanted to ask Zhang Cheng or Zhao Bin.
So he simply clarified: “Would you mind asking Bo Yan if he’s willing to go?”
Having said so much, Bai Qi finally understood what was going on today. They must have seen the trending topic and guessed that his relationship with Bo Yan was good, and wanted him to speak for them.
No wonder it felt like a fan meeting.
Bai Qi relaxed, obediently nodding in agreement: “I’ll ask him, but he probably won’t come.”
The class monitor smiled: “It’s okay, you helping us ask is already great. We wouldn’t even be able to talk to him.”
After saying that, he took a sip of water, the smile in his eyes fading, not holding out much hope.
He wasn’t as unrealistic as others. Big stars are so busy and aren’t familiar with everyone; it’s very likely he won’t come. If it weren’t for the members’ clamoring, he wouldn’t have even mentioned it.
Besides… he didn’t really like Bo Yan.
Such a cold person wasn’t suitable for being friends; only someone with Bai Qi’s good personality, who was so naive and didn’t understand anything, could tolerate him.
Bai Qi must have been bullied a lot when he’s with Bo Yan; perhaps he’s almost become Bo Yan’s assistant.
He wanted to give a few words of advice, but it wasn’t suitable with so many people around.
His thoughts remained unknown, but after the two finished talking, others couldn’t help but admire the class monitor’s boldness, and the atmosphere in the room became more lively.
After a while, a girl whispered from behind: “Bai Qi?”
Bai Qi turned around, the striking impact of the beautiful face with fox eyes, snow skin, and red lips was intense, causing the faces of the people in the back row to flush.
“What’s wrong?” Bai Qi’s voice was soft, his speech slow.
Even though it was a soft voice, because of his shyness, his expression appeared distant, that of an unreachable beauty.
The girl who had spoken froze, a little afraid to look at him, until her friend poked her hard under the table, and she hurriedly blushed, saying: “Your… your neck is very red, did you get hurt?”
“Huh?” Bai Qi instinctively touched the back of his neck. When he woke up this morning, he felt it was numb and a little itchy, but not painful. He hadn’t expected it to still be red.
The class monitor leaned over to look, finding that it was red in patches. The color was actually quite light, but because Bai Qi’s skin was so white, it looked quite serious.
Bai Qi didn’t care much, rubbing it vigorously: “I probably rubbed it accidentally.”
The class monitor echoed with a nod, actually suspicious—wasn’t it because of working for Bo Yan?……
Without further thought, the class quickly began.
Bai Qi always listened attentively, cherishing every lesson, studying wholeheartedly.
The two classes flew by. Near the end of class, the corridor outside was noisy, and people kept peeking into the room, but they didn’t seem to see anything.
Bai Qi didn’t notice; he was quietly reading until the end-of-class bell rang, and the noise reached its peak. Everyone clearly heard someone exclaim that Bo Yan had arrived.
The room instantly became chaotic, many people quickly walking out, Bai Qi also rising in surprise.
Bo Yan had work today, so why was he at school?
Following the crowd out, Bai Qi immediately saw Bo Yan, his cold temperament striking, his 1.9-meter height standing out among the crowd, his features exceptionally handsome and impeccable.
The impact of seeing him in person was strong, the surrounding students didn’t dare to approach, gazing up in awe.
Bo Yan casually leaned against the corridor wall, ignoring the attention. When Bai Qi came out, he put his hands in his pockets and walked with him.
Bai Qi followed in surprise, full of questions. He hadn’t expected Bo Yan to pick him up.
Walking side by side, Bo Yan’s shoulders were wide, Bai Qi’s figure was made even more petite, his slender waist easily grasped, from a certain angle, it almost looked like he was being led away.
As two legends of Jiang University, no one had expected that the school flower and school handsome guy would have such a good relationship a few days ago. Many students behind them were excitedly blushing, almost about to faint from excitement.
The class monitor, however, furrowed his brows, standing firmly at the classroom entrance.
To be honest, the two had vastly different personalities and had only known each other for a couple of days; he didn’t believe their relationship was that good.
Those who could reach the top of the entertainment industry were all shrewd. Bo Yan now actively approaching Bai Qi, helping Bai Qi clarify on Weibo, and personally picking him up—what exactly did he intend to get from Bai Qi?
He had thought that Bai Qi was easy to deceive and could be his assistant, but now looking at their height difference, Bai Qi’s small frame couldn’t carry much…
They weren’t in the same department, so asking for help with studies wouldn’t make sense. Bai Qi wasn’t rich, leaving only his life and his looks. But Bo Yan, a completely straight man, couldn’t possibly be after Bai Qi’s body.
The class monitor’s expression became increasingly confused.
Even if he wanted to advise Bai Qi to stay away from him now, he didn’t know how.
His thoughts remained unknown, but after the two finished talking, others couldn’t help but admire the class monitor’s boldness, and the atmosphere in the room became more lively.
He suddenly hoped that Bo Yan would agree to go on the trip, which would be a good opportunity to find out what was going on.
On the other hand, Bai Qi didn’t know the class monitor’s thoughts. He was already downstairs with Bo Yan, walking a small path back to the dorm.
The crowded air instantly became refreshing, away from the prying eyes of the crowd, he sighed slightly in relief: “Do you have work this afternoon?”
“No.”
Bai Qi’s eyes brightened a little. He looked around again, making sure there was nobody around, and tiptoed closer to Bo Yan.
Bo Yan instinctively bent down, his pale, cold face drawing closer, feeling warm from the sweet breath.
He heard Bai Qi’s soft voice: “Can we film the kissing scene this afternoon?”
Bo Yan seemed a little stunned.
He was dazed, unable to react, and only after a few seconds did he suddenly look at Bai Qi: “Kissing scene?”
“Mm, okay?” Bai Qi hadn’t thought much about it. There were too many kissing scenes in the script, but he was also ticklish. This was the fastest way he could think of to train himself.
The dappled shadows of the trees fell on his face, like white paper stained with ink.
Bo Yan’s narrow phoenix eyes stared almost straight at Bai Qi, his voice hoarse: “Okay.”
After saying that, he took out the electronic version of the script, pondered for a moment, and turned a page to show him.
[Late at night, Dr. Jiang tossed and turned, accidentally seeing Su Qi leaving from the back door through the window, immediately becoming alert and worried, following him.]
[The two arrived at a secluded pile of straw, but Su Qi suddenly stopped, and then, in front of Dr. Jiang, began to slowly undress, walking towards Dr. Jiang as he undressed, saying that he had already discovered that he was following.]
There were many long kissing and intimate scenes. Bai Qi felt itchy just looking at them.
But thinking of Bo Yan’s efforts on his behalf, he gritted his teeth and agreed: “Okay.”
