Chapter 22: An Invitation
The class monitor now regretted giving Bo Yan the villa layout.
He’d wanted to see how Bo Yan would choose, imagining Bo Yan picking a comfortable large room, or a horror-themed room to enhance their relationship.
He never expected him to choose the mirror room so directly, not even noticing the room before.
Looking at it now, the large mirror and small bed were telling.
Thinking of Bai Qi’s beautiful and frail appearance, the class monitor couldn’t bear it, making a voice call.
His voice was unusually tense, repeatedly warning, “Be careful tonight! Stay under the covers and don’t talk to anyone.”
Bai Qi responded nervously and obediently, his voice like soft candy, “Thank you, I’ll be careful.”
He was already a little afraid of the large mirror in the room. The class monitor’s warning not to interact with anyone made him even more scared; if Bo Yan wasn’t there, he wouldn’t dare stay.
Bai Qi secretly planned to avoid looking at the mirror when sleeping.
The class monitor sighed, unsure if Bai Qi understood.
But he couldn’t directly say to be wary of Bo Yan; he didn’t want to interfere with Bai Qi’s feelings for Bo Yan.
Scratching his head, he hesitantly asked, “What do you think of Bo Yan?”
“He’s a good person and takes good care of me.”
“Uh, not what he does for you, but what are your thoughts on him as a person?”
The class monitor, fearing Bai Qi might not understand, asked more directly: “Do you have any thoughts of him becoming your boyfriend?”
His question was a little loud, echoing in the room. Bai Qi was startled by the question.
Perhaps he and Bo Yan were too close, and he liked the same gender, so someone might misunderstand their relationship, but he didn’t expect even the class monitor to misunderstand.
Bo Yan was a star, his career at its peak. How could he possibly date, especially since Bo Yan was straight.
He denied, “No, I’ve never thought of that. We’re absolutely impossible.”
His tone was firm, leaving no room for negotiation.
As he spoke, he didn’t notice when the bathroom door opened.
Bo Yan, wet and cold, stood behind the door, wet black hair dripping water, veins bulging on his hands.
Hearing Bai Qi’s firm answer, the class monitor was astonished, even feeling a little sorry for Bo Yan.
It seemed hopeless.
He also didn’t understand. Even someone like Lin Feng was fine, why not Bo Yan? He acted gentle enough in front of Bai Qi.
The class monitor wanted to ask more questions, but someone came to find him, forcing him to hang up.
After explaining, Bai Qi felt relieved, turning to find Bo Yan had just finished showering.
The room was dim; his expression was unclear against the light, his bathrobe stretched by his broad shoulders, imposing.
Bai Qi asked, “Oh right, the group chat said there’s a market in the nearby village. Do you want to go?”
Bai Qi didn’t really want to go. After the long bus ride and the stressful game, he was tired.
Bo Yan shook his head.
He stepped into the room, casually throwing a broken doorknob into the trash can, lowering his head to hide the bloodshot redness in his eyes.
Seeing his refusal, Bai Qi felt relieved, his tone a little cheerful, “I don’t really want to go either.”
He turned to get his change of clothes; his clothes were slightly askew, outlining a delicate and graceful figure, his black hair soft and drooping, revealing a soft white nape.
Such a gentle person, even the wind seemed to calm down around him, yet his words were so decisive.
Behind him, the intense gaze could no longer be hidden, like a hawk on the verge of attack, raw desire barely contained.
As if he couldn’t control himself any longer, about to pounce with everything.
The air seemed to be simmering.
But the next moment, Bai Qi awkwardly turned back.
He felt a little embarrassed, his cheeks flushing pink, “Do…do you have an extra pajama? I accidentally left mine in the dorm.”
Bai Qi was a little worried. Others could manage with an outer garment, but his skin was sensitive; rough outer garments would make him unable to sleep.
Bo Yan was stunned.
He involuntarily imagined Bai Qi wearing his pajamas; the darkness in his eyes faded. He picked out a pajama he had worn before from a pile of new ones.
“Thank you,” Bai Qi gratefully accepted.
The fragrant, soft body leaned closer; their fingers accidentally brushed against Bo Yan’s hand.
The sharp thorns around Bo Yan instantly softened.
He swallowed, almost pathetically thinking that Bai Qi had avoided Li Mu Cheng’s hand, but not his.
That was already special.
Bai Qi, oblivious, relaxed as he went to shower. Entering the bathroom, he barely managed to close the door with the broken doorknob.
He was in a good mood, escaping his familiar surroundings for nature. Even without going out, he felt relaxed, all his stress gone.
After a warm shower, he changed into Bo Yan’s borrowed pajamas.
Then he felt a little troubled. He only knew Bo Yan was very tall, but now he had a clearer understanding.
The black pajamas, a perfect size for Bo Yan, reached Bai Qi’s ankles. The shoulders and sleeves were loose; thankfully, there was a belt to tighten it a little, barely stabilizing it.
However, the collar couldn’t be closed, gaping almost to his waist.
Luckily, it was Bo Yan; he already knew what he looked like. It would be more embarrassing with someone else.
He quickly went out; the lights were already on. The oversized black pajamas swayed slightly as he moved, Bai Qi seeming enveloped in silk, a corner gently peeled back, revealing his delicate, white skin.
In the brightly polished mirror, the same Bai Qi emerged, like a beauty admiring herself, an unspeakable allure permeating the room.
He felt Bo Yan staring at him, seemingly surprised at how large the pajamas were on him.
Bai Qi became even more uncomfortable, quickly crawling into bed.
Only when the covers covered his body did he breathe a sigh of relief, lying on the edge of the bed, trying not to touch Bo Yan.
But the bed was too small; even so, they were close. Bai Qi was afraid Bo Yan felt cramped, so he lay on his side, facing away, and pressed himself towards the edge of the bed.
This finally created a little space.
The group chat never stopped. Bai Qi checked his phone and found that most classmates had gone to the market, many posting photos, having fun.
But Bai Qi felt it was too crowded, tiring, and was glad Bo Yan wasn’t going.
After scrolling for a while, he exited the group chat and habitually checked his WeChat friend requests.
For some reason, many people wanted to add him every day. Bai Qi used to accept all requests, but later it caused some trouble, so he now chose to accept requests from people he knew.
He scrolled through the page; he didn’t know the people at the top, but the two at the bottom surprised him; they seemed to be from the entertainment industry.
With some apprehension, Bai Qi accepted. Soon, one of them sent a message, solemnly explaining their intention.
It was a variety show crew.
Bai Qi was extremely surprised. He rarely watched variety shows and didn’t recognize the name. They asked if he could appear on the show with Bo Yan.
Though Bai Qi needed money, before the other party mentioned the price, he immediately refused without thinking.
It wasn’t a proper program crew.
Even if he needed money, he wouldn’t do anything to affect Bo Yan’s career. Even if he agreed, Bo Yan wouldn’t.
Another person wanted to invite him to shoot an advertisement, and Bai Qi still refused.
His face hadn’t been exposed online; no one knew what he looked like; how could he shoot an advertisement? They would likely be dissatisfied upon meeting.
After rejecting two offers, Bai Qi heard Bo Yan ask behind him, “Did a variety show contact you?”
He wanted to say something, but saw Bai Qi excitedly nod: “Don’t worry, I’ve already refused.”
Bo Yan was a little speechless.
His thin lips tightened, and he leaned close, softly asking, “You don’t want to be on a show?”
Bai Qi shook his head, then nodded after thinking, “I don’t mind, but that show wanted you to go too, probably trying to use me to tie you in. That’s not good.”
What he didn’t say was that Bo Yan didn’t need money; such a famous actor would be picky about variety shows; Bo Yan wouldn’t accept.
Bo Yan was unusually silent.
Bai Qi stopped thinking about it, feeling sleepy.
Just as he turned off his phone to nap, he heard someone murmur behind him: “But I want to be tied together with you.”
