Chapter 32: Cream
Bai Qi was drinking grape juice. Hearing this, a drop of juice stained his lower lip. He turned his head in stunned disbelief. “W-what?”
“On the boat,” Bo Yan corrected himself, looking down at that alluring touch of vermilion, his voice very raspy. “There’s a small lake by our house in the suburbs. Staying on the boat for two days would be nice.”
Bai Qi was instantly overjoyed.
He had always liked water—streams, lakes, waterfalls, the sea—he liked them all. He just hadn’t had much chance to interact with them before. The Literature Society trips were always to the mountains, so he hadn’t thought about it.
Hearing that Bo Yan’s house had a lake right next to it where they could row a small boat, Bai Qi was immediately filled with anticipation. Staying there for two days would surely be delightful.
Licking the sweet juice from his lip, making his already rosy lips even more lustrous, Bai Qi nodded happily and repeatedly.
Bo Yan clenched his fist tight and then released it, hiding the excessive thoughts in his eyes, and told the driver to turn around.
The car quickly turned towards the suburbs.
On the way, Bai Qi couldn’t stop eating. It was all light snacks that didn’t fill the stomach—beef jerky, gummies, and the like. Bo Yan had a lot in his car, but Bai Qi rarely had the chance to eat them before.
Now that he suddenly possessed so many snacks, he couldn’t help but be a little greedy, like a child.
Bai Qi’s eating habits weren’t exactly elegant; he liked to stuff his mouth a bit full, making his white cheeks bulge. He chewed slowly with his tender red lips closed. This gave him a great sense of satisfaction from tasting delicious food.
Bo Yan didn’t eat. He just propped up his chin and watched Bai Qi eat. His sharp Adam’s apple bobbed occasionally, and his burning gaze soon made Bai Qi feel shy.
He thought Bo Yan didn’t like snacks, but it seemed he was craving them.
It wasn’t good to eat alone. Bai Qi handed over a raspberry gummy from his hand and asked softly, “Do you want one?”
His slender fingers pinched the edge of the candy wrapper as he offered it. The raspberry gummy squeezed out was bright red. Combined with the natural sweet scent on Bai Qi, it emitted an incredibly enticing aroma.
Bo Yan’s eyes darkened significantly. His black irises stared straight at Bai Qi’s face as he lowered his head to bite the gummy.
Scorching breath invaded. His thin lips brushed past Bai Qi’s fingertips—soft and hot. The friction left a spot of bright red, almost demonic.
“It’s quite sweet.”
Bai Qi’s fingertips tingled as if electrocuted. Being stared at by those eyes, he felt inexplicably hot in the face.
Strange. It was just an accidental touch, yet his heart was beating so fast.
Embarrassed to look up at him, Bai Qi lowered his head and munched on several pieces before feeling the heat on his body subside.
Soon, the car drove further and further into the distance, gradually leaving the city center.
However, the buildings outside the window didn’t become dilapidated. On the contrary, there was more greenery, and the clear bird songs were refreshing. Occasionally, a villa could be seen in the distance. The road was empty and quiet.
This looked like an area Bai Qi would never have come into contact with before.
He opened the window, smelling the fresh air outside, and suddenly wanted his mother to come here too.
His mother had always been in poor health and coughed constantly. Living alone in a dim, damp old building made it hard for her to recover. Every time Bai Qi went home, he felt it was cramped and oppressive. Unconsciously, he really liked this kind of open, natural scenery.
If only his mom could come and experience this life, even if just for a month. It would be like a vacation to recuperate.
Thinking of this, Bai Qi turned around. For the first time, he wanted to actively ask about the villa Bo Yan had prepared for his mom.
But he stammered, not knowing how to say it.
For an honest child from an ordinary family, actively asking about such expensive things felt incredibly awkward, especially since Bo Yan was only trying to be his boyfriend.
His lips moved for a long time, and Bai Qi almost wanted to give up. Just then, Bo Yan leaned in close and whispered, “What’s wrong?”
Bai Qi’s throat was dry. Under Bo Yan’s gaze, he felt like he had nowhere to hide. His fingertips unconsciously gripped the back of the seat.
“I-is the offer for my mom to move still valid?”
He lowered his head, missing the look of near-ecstasy on Bo Yan’s face.
Finally willing to accept his things. Even just a little bit was fine, as long as he stopped pushing him away.
“Of course it’s valid. We’ll go pick her up right now.”
Bo Yan’s tone contained uncontrollable excitement, the veins on his forearm bulging. He cared about this even more than Bai Qi did, ready to have the driver turn around to pick up his mother immediately.
Bai Qi quickly stopped him, asking uncertainly, “Can I tell my mom tonight and go pick her up tomorrow?”
Bo Yan agreed instantly.
His enthusiasm dispelled much of Bai Qi’s anxiety, and he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
He thought it was finally over, but Bo Yan pulled up a map of Jiang City to show him.
He circled many locations on the map: a castle in the suburbs, a villa in the city center, a manor near Jiang University, and even a high-end complex near Bai Qi’s old family home.
It could be said that Bo Yan had real estate all over Jiang City. Bai Qi was dazzled and couldn’t choose at all.
Bo Yan mused, “Originally, I prepared the city center villa for Mother, but now I think she might not like it. Maybe she’d prefer the fresh air of the suburbs.”
“Which one do you think Mother would prefer?”
Seeing Bo Yan look over inquiringly, Bai Qi was touched. He pursed his lips and shook his head.
“It’s okay, we’ll ask her tomorrow,” Bo Yan sighed. “I really want to bring Mother over.”
“Qi Qi, let’s go get our luggage tomorrow too and move out of the dorm, okay? There are too many people in the dorm; it’s not convenient for us to be intimate.”
Bai Qi’s mind was full of Bo Yan caring for his mom. He was a mess of emotion. He nodded subconsciously even when Bo Yan mentioned moving out to be intimate, missing the dangerous signal hidden within.
“Thank you.” Bai Qi truly felt lucky to have met someone as good as Bo Yan. He wanted to show his gratitude through action, but without the “acting practice,” all he could do seemed to be saying thank you.
Bo Yan shook his head, his tone calm. “No need to thank me. These were all your houses to begin with.”
Bai Qi: “…”
H-how did they become all his houses? Before, he said half and half.
How could he accept so many valuable things? But fearing that if he asked, Bo Yan would say something about donating them, he just blushed and pretended not to hear.
This tacit acceptance made Bo Yan very happy.
Knowing Bai Qi just didn’t know how to refute him, Bo Yan still couldn’t resist. He cupped Bai Qi’s face and planted two heavy kisses on it, then went to the small bed in the back to sleep.
After closing his eyes, his face became as cold as a sculpture, as if nothing had happened, leaving a flushed Bai Qi at a loss. Finally, Bai Qi just lowered his head and rubbed his face, which felt numb from the kisses.
Soon, the RV arrived at the house in the suburbs.
It was called a house, but it looked completely like a traditional Chinese garden courtyard. White walls, green tiles, carved railings, and painted beams. It had mountains and water, occupied a massive area, and was as beautiful as a tourist attraction.
From a distance, Bai Qi saw the sparkling lake beside the courtyard. Several antique wooden boats were floating by the lakeside. The scene was so beautiful it felt like traveling back in time.
It didn’t look like a private residence at all.
He couldn’t imagine how expensive this courtyard was. After getting out of the car, stepping onto the clean stone steps, seeing precious flowers and plants everywhere, he was afraid of breaking something.
This level of wealth far exceeded Bai Qi’s imagination. He deeply felt the class difference of their worlds, which made him feel even more unworthy.
The richness of the courtyard reflected in his eyes, turning into deep confusion.
Living in here for a month… even the rental fee would be astronomical. He really didn’t know what he could give Bo Yan in return.
In his heart, even couples should help each other. There was no logic where one side just gave endlessly.
Bai Qi felt uncomfortable all over, carefully following behind Bo Yan. Suddenly, Bo Yan turned around. “You don’t like it here? Shall we change to another place?”
“Huh?” Bai Qi froze, then immediately shook his head. “No, I like it very much.”
Bo Yan still frowned, an expression that made him look a bit fierce. “But you look unhappy.”
Bai Qi struggled, but couldn’t help speaking his thoughts. “I just don’t know what I can do for you.”
Did Bo Yan really need him?
While he was doubting himself, he heard Bo Yan breathing a bit heavily. “There are many things we can do together. Qi Qi, accompany me on the boat for a while, okay?”
Bai Qi finally received a request from him; how could he refuse? He immediately followed him happily.
Passing the RV, Bo Yan grabbed some snacks from inside, and the two walked side by side.
Natural scenery always blows away troubles. Walking by the lake, the unique scent of the water awakened an instinctive joy. Bai Qi felt relaxed all over.
He had been worried about gains and losses just a moment ago, but now he couldn’t help sinking into the coolness of the lakeside, looking happily at the water’s surface.
So beautiful, so deep.
The lake water wasn’t clear like many artificial lakes; it had a natural turbidity, full of water plants and small fish. There were even frogs by the shore. Grass was everywhere—a vibrant scene of life.
A smile unconsciously appeared on Bai Qi’s face as he followed Bo Yan to the small boat.
It really was a small wooden boat, pointed at both ends. The width in the middle was just enough for two people to sit close together.
This was Bai Qi’s first time on a wooden boat. Curious, he was lifted directly onto it by Bo Yan. Instantly, he smelled the scent of damp wood, and his footing was unsteady and swaying.
He felt a mix of novelty and fear. He carefully sat at the stern, while Bo Yan rowed at the bow, slowly moving the boat to the center of the lake.
Separated only by a layer of wood planks, he lay on the edge of the boat, peering over to look.
Soon, Bo Yan came over and sat next to Bai Qi. In a rare mood, he took a small piece of cake to eat.
Bai Qi was in such a good mood. After looking at the lake water for a while, he felt a bit dizzy, so he turned over to lie down.
Above him was the clear blue sky; beneath him, the small boat rocked gently. He raised a slender white hand to shade his eyes, watching the clouds through the gaps in his fingers.
This is life.
His movement pulled his shirt up, revealing a patch of extremely tender skin at his waist. It was dazzlingly white in the sunlight. The flesh at his waist was firm and tucked in; one could almost smell its fragrance through the air.
Bai Qi didn’t notice at all. His belly was snowy white, his palms pink, and his exquisite nose tipped upward. He stretched lazily like a kitten with his eyes closed.
The small boat swayed with the water. Seemingly by accident, a dollop of cream from the small cake in Bo Yan’s hand fell, landing right on Bai Qi’s exposed belly.
The soft flesh shivered in surprise.
But it wasn’t just the coolness of the cream on his waist; soon, there was an exceptionally hot fingertip.
Bai Qi’s body trembled sensitively. He opened his eyes in surprise, only to see Bo Yan’s finger dipping into the fallen cream and bringing it to his lips to eat.
“So sweet.”
Bo Yan’s voice was hoarse, like a predator who had finally lured his prey into the nest, impatient to take a bite and taste.
Splat.
As if he hadn’t held it steadily, the entire cream cake fell onto Bai Qi’s body.
Bai Qi opened his eyes wide in confusion, his arms still raised, looking like a soiled doll, ready to let someone else wipe and clean him.
