Chapter 17: So, He’s Not a Saint
There was a group chat for the students who came together, and someone forwarded the punishment notice into it.
[Hmm? Lieutenant Colonel Liang harassed an Omega?]
[Look at the announcement; it was Colonel Liang who handled it. That’s his own brother.]
[Then the question is, how did Colonel Liang know the Lieutenant Colonel was harassing someone?]
[Irresponsible guess: the harassed Omega is a student under his mentorship.]
[Why isn’t my mentor this protective? Severely jealous.]
[So, between his own brother and a student, he actually chose the latter? [Thumbs Up] [Thumbs Up] [Thumbs Up] Putting righteousness above family.]
[I have a theory, dare not say it…]
[I have a theory, dare not say it…]
[I have a theory, dare not say it…]
Mu Feng looked at the messages in the group, his face darkening. Liang Yuhang had only acted impartially; Mu Feng couldn’t let him get dragged into a romantic scandal.
He turned his head and gave Jiang Yuan a genial smile.
“Don’t look at me like that, I’m scared.”
Jiang Yuan felt his hair stand on end. “Although I think you’re an innocent good baby, I can visibly see your devil horns growing out.”
“You saw everyone’s discussion, right?” Mu Feng said with a beaming smile. “Didn’t you hate it most when people tied me and Liang Yuhang together? Do me a favor.”
Jiang Yuan’s sixth sense blared a strong alarm. He said firmly, “Not helping.”
Mu Feng let out a long sigh. “Alright, then just let everyone speculate about me and Teacher Liang. Sometimes, when there are too many rumors, they easily become true. By then, if my heart stirs and I go crazy…”
Jiang Yuan had too much tacit understanding with him. A threat, a naked threat.
But his conscience still existed. “Fine, how do I help?”
“Say you couldn’t stand seeing me bullied and complained to your brother, and Teacher Liang simply handled it on his behalf,” Mu Feng said.
He cared about Liang Yuhang’s reputation more than anyone.
Even if the subject of the scandal was himself, it wouldn’t do.
Jiang Yuan frowned. “Why say the Omega was you? You could totally play dead. Being gossiped about is so annoying.”
“Anyone with eyes knows he came to our dorm. There are only three of us.” Mu Feng glanced at him indifferently. “I can’t drag you and Tiantian into it.”
That look was so Alpha.
Jiang Yuan’s back shivered at that glance, then he pouted.
“Mu Bao!!!” Jiang Yuan hugged him with teary eyes. “I knew you considered my reputation the most. Helping, I’ll help to the end.”
After sighing about their deep brotherhood, he crackled away typing a reply in the group.
[What are you guys blindly guessing? I couldn’t stand seeing my bro get bullied, so I complained to my brother. As for Colonel Liang, he was just enforcing the law impartially. All of you read too many novels, trying to pair up every AO you see.]
[Young Master Jiang has spoken. So that’s what happened.]
[Envious of Young Master Jiang. Curious question, is Officer Lu your biological brother?]
[No no no, childhood sweetheart brother who grew up together. Not a biological brother but better than one. Problem?]
[I have a theory, dare not say it…]
[I have a theory, dare not say it…]
[I have a theory, dare not say it…]
Jiang Yuan: “…………”
These people, really. How can top students be such gossips? I’m done.
Mu Feng took off the watch from his wrist and put it on Jiang Yuan. “Here, giving the watch to you. Thanks.”
This brand was indeed one Jiang Yuan liked, and so was the style. He touched it admiringly and looked up. “Giving me back something I gave you—does that count as a gift?”
Reaction was pretty fast.
“You gave it to me, so it’s mine. If I give it to you again, isn’t that called a gift?” Mu Feng reached out to tease him. “If you don’t want it, forget it.”
Jiang Yuan, who was still feeling the pinch yesterday, now beamed with joy. “Today is another lucky day for Little Jiang.”
Mu Feng smiled along with him. He hoped Little Jiang would always be this heartlessly happy.
0717 sent him a message.
[Mr. Liang’s work schedule for today: 9:00 Meeting, 10:00 Surgery, 12:00 Swimming, 14:00 R&D, 18:00 Dinner with the Commander. You won’t see him today, study hard.]
0717 probably wanted to save him a wasted trip, but Mu Feng caught the key point: Swimming at noon.
With such a good opportunity, whoever didn’t go was a fool.
Mu Feng finished his questions, got up, and started to walk out, but was held back by Jiang Yuan. “Where are you going?”
“I think one should combine work with rest. Preparing to go for a swim,” Mu Feng said.
“Doesn’t your waist still hurt?” Jiang Yuan was suspicious. “You’re not going to find Liang Yuhang, are you?”
“How is that possible?” Mu Feng laughed awkwardly twice. “The ointment is effective; it’s mostly healed. Exercising more speeds up recovery. Since the base facilities are so complete, it’d be a waste not to use them.”
Jiang Yuan was a landlubber and had no interest in water activities. He curled his lip. “Then you go.”
Mu Feng thought that following right after 0717 reported the itinerary would be too obvious.
So he turned back, grabbed his exercise book, and walked out quickly.
“You’re bringing questions to swim?” Jiang Yuan was confused. “Won’t it get all wet once you splash around?”
Mu Feng looked back at him and smiled. “This is the latest scientific memory method. If you want to try, you can read while soaking in the bath.”
Jiang Yuan was bamboozled again and pondered the feasibility of this matter. “Then I’ll go to my brother’s room; there’s a bathtub there.”
Mu Feng lowered his head and smiled, walking quickly into the natatorium. Sure enough, by the light blue pool, a vigorous body like a cheetah, with shark lines tightly taut, jumped and sliced into the water.
The movements were very clean and beautiful, an absolute feast for the eyes.
Mu Feng squatted at the finish line, appreciating it without concealment, muttering to himself, “Pity, can’t take a photo. Would be treated as a pervert.”
Liang Yuhang swam a lap. When he lifted his head to breathe, he saw the familiar figure.
He narrowed his eyes, swam towards that side, and reached the bank.
Taking off his swimming goggles, he pushed his wet hair back, revealing handsome features. “Why are you here? Coincidence?”
Mu Feng shook his head and smiled. “Not a coincidence. Came here specifically to camp you. 0717 told me your schedule.”
He felt that being a bit sincere made people less suspicious.
Liang Yuhang’s gaze landed on the notebook in his hand. “Chasing me here to ask questions? Suddenly so fond of learning.”
“I want to become smarter, Teacher Liang.” Mu Feng lowered his head, wanting to get closer to him, so he leaned down almost in a kneeling posture. “Yesterday you praised me, said I wasn’t too stupid.”
Liang Yuhang’s gaze moved up from the notebook, landing on his open collar. He seemed to like wearing these loose-collared T-shirts, but right now, at this angle, nothing could be hidden.
His neck, collarbones, chest muscles, and thin waist—from top to bottom, everything was visible at a glance.
He knew how… suggestive it was to kneel in front of an Alpha like this.
Still a kid. Any more words would seem like dirty thoughts.
Liang Yuhang was wet all over, so he didn’t reach out. instead, he swam a little forward, getting closer. “Which question don’t you understand?”
“This one.” Mu Feng suppressed his heartbeat. He could feel the vigorous body heat from the other person, breathing right by his ear. “And this one, didn’t understand either.”
The notes above were densely packed, looking indeed like he intended to turn over a new leaf. Liang Yuhang suppressed his lewd speculations and explained carefully.
“So I have to substitute this formula. I was wondering why I calculated for so long only to circle back.” Mu Feng watched his wet, raven-feather-like eyelashes from the corner of his eye, and his kneeling foot slipped.
“The notebook!”
He had promised to give it to Zhou Tiantian.
So he reached out and grabbed forward violently. Before falling into the water, he held it high up, and splash, his whole body fell into the water.
The pool was deep; he was soaked through.
This really wasn’t premeditated.
Only at the moment of falling into the water did Mu Feng’s little thoughts secretly float up. He pretended to flail in panic, threw his head back, and very realistically choked on two mouthfuls of water.
This part was premeditated.
“I can’t swim!!! Teacher Liang!!!”
Liang Yuhang couldn’t leave him to die. He reached out with one hand to grab his waist tightly, his palm folding Mu Feng’s legs and lifting them up.
Mu Feng half-floated out of the water. One hand was still tightly clutching the notebook, while the other hooked around Liang Yuhang’s neck, his whole body lunging forward.
His chest felt hot.
Liang Yuhang’s lips pressed against his chest, scalding hot.
“Thank you, Teacher Liang.” Mu Feng panted slightly, looking down at him. “Scared me to death.”
The swaying water rippled in circles, just like his heart.
He was actually this close to Liang Yuhang, not as a cat.
Liang Yuhang shook the water droplets from his hair, swam a bit forward, and placed the person steadily on the pool edge. “How did you manage to fall in even while kneeling there?”
“Back hurt, didn’t kneel steadily.” Mu Feng was sitting now, his legs still soaking in the pool, the soles of his feet stepping on the other’s thighs.
Liang Yuhang sensed it too. He wanted to retreat but found his neck tightly gripped by Mu Feng.
His voice lowered, warning, “Mu Feng, let go.”
“Oh oh, sorry.” Mu Feng scrambled, still having to be careful not to get the notebook wet. His hand didn’t completely withdraw, and his feet changed position, still stepping firmly on the other person.
He looked up and found Liang Yuhang’s eyes had become very dark.
Like an agitated Alpha who had caught his desired prey.
“Teacher Liang, what’s wrong?” Mu Feng asked, oblivious to the danger.
Liang Yuhang looked up slightly, his fingers grabbing Mu Feng’s ankle with heavy force. “Move your foot away.”
Mu Feng felt his grip was a bit strong; a ring of red marks would probably appear on that patch of skin. Yet he still pretended to be innocent. “Teacher Liang, do you have a fever? Your body temperature feels very high.”
Liang Yuhang didn’t know if he truly didn’t understand or was pretending.
AO distinctions existed. He was clinging like an octopus; clearly told to let go and move his feet, he didn’t follow a single instruction.
Very disobedient.
Liang Yuhang broke free with force, retreating abruptly, submerging into the cold water, holding his breath to cool down quickly.
When he surfaced again, his expression had returned to its usual indifference, as if nothing had happened.
Mu Feng stared straight at him, seeing that he had become unsettled due to the Omega’s excessive proximity, yet still pressed on: “What exactly happened?”
So, Teacher Liang isn’t a saint.
“Nothing,” Liang Yuhang said.
He intended to leave it at that, but after thinking about it, he added, “Mu Feng, it seems you need to catch up on your physiology classes too.”
Mu Feng smiled brilliantly, tilting his head slightly. “Will you help me catch up? Teacher Liang.”
