Chapter 7: Fight All You Want, Just Don’t Hurt Me
“Looking at you guys again, you don’t fit my aesthetic either.”
After rejecting them, Lin Qingyue didn’t forget to continue searching for that water-blue Cyan Jade Sword.
After struggling to climb over a mountain of swords, he finally saw a flash of blue-white light on a distant peak.
“Hahaha, Heaven rewards the determined; I’ve finally found it.”
“Cyan Jade Sword, here I come!” Lin Qingyue sprinted toward the sword, but in his haste, he didn’t pay attention and was tripped by a sword that suddenly stuck out, causing him to stumble.
“No, I say, Brother Sword, you’re blocking the way here. Change spots.”
The kind-hearted Lin Qingyue decided to move this lackluster sword to a new location. After pulling it out, he stuck it into a nearby cluster of swords. “Look, isn’t this great? You have companions to keep you company. No need to thank me; I’m just a helpful young man.”
After planting the sword, he continued his mad dash toward the Cyan Jade Sword. According to the Three Laws of Villains, one is bound to run into the protagonist when discovering a treasure.
Striking first to gain the upper hand—there was logic to it.
“Cyan Jade Sword, I’m here!”
“Senior Brother Lin, wait!”
Lin Qingyue’s hand, reaching for the sword, paused. According to the Three Laws of Villains, a second’s hesitation leads to a change in fortune.
Ignoring the person, he reached out directly and pulled the sword.
“Senior Brother Lin, you can’t pull that sword.”
By the time Yun Jinzhou finished speaking, Lin Qingyue had already pulled the sword out. Holding the sword, he turned to look at him. “What did you say just now? I didn’t hear you clearly.”
Yun Jinzhou: “…”
What could he say? The sword had already been taken.
Fate told him that this sword should have been his.
Seeing that there were other swords behind Lin Qingyue, Yun Jinzhou spoke up, “Senior Brother Lin, I discovered this sword first. I was just a step slower, and you snatched it away. You have so many swords; surely you don’t lack this one.”
“Who says I don’t lack it?”
Yun Jinzhou’s words were cut off before he could finish. Lin Qingyue looked at him like he was an idiot. “I grabbed this sword first, so it’s mine. And where do I have any other swords?”
“Junior Brother Yun, you should go get your eyes checked when you have time. Senior Brother is truly worried about you; being so young, you can’t be careless about your health.”
Yun Jinzhou was scolded by him, still in a daze over how Lin Qingyue had become so articulate.
“What will it take for Senior Brother Lin to return the sword to me?” Yun Jinzhou asked, his voice sounding like he was crying.
It was as if Yun Jinzhou would burst into tears immediately if Lin Qingyue didn’t return the sword.
Lin Qingyue took two steps back with the sword, thinking, This is bad. He hugged the sword tightly. This Yun Jinzhou doesn’t have a crush on me, does he? Otherwise, why is he acting like he’s about to cry in front of me?
The thought was terrifying. When Yun Jinzhou took two steps forward, Lin Qingyue hugged the sword and retreated further.
“Stand still. If you want to talk, just talk. Why are you coming closer?”
Yun Jinzhou looked at Lin Qingyue, who was at least thirty or forty feet away, and thought to himself, As expected, he wants to claim the Cyan Jade Sword for himself.
Lin Qingyue didn’t care what he thought. Whoever grabbed it owned it. He took the sword and started to run.
The swords that had been timidly following him saw him run and immediately started running too.
“Lin Qingyue.”
“Junior Brother Yun, what’s wrong?”
Others attracted by the commotion arrived only to see a pile of swords flying away, leaving Yun Jinzhou standing there, angry and annoyed.
Lin Qingyue, running far away while clutching the sword, found it increasingly difficult to run. He looked back to see a pile of swords behind him.
“What are you guys doing?”
Looking closely, several of the swords looked quite familiar. “Why are you still here?”
Wherever Lin Qingyue ran with the Cyan Jade Sword, they followed. The number of swords behind him grew larger and larger.
The Sword Guardian Elders outside were dumbfounded seeing this. What is this situation?
In the Sword Tomb, it was indeed possible for someone to resonate with several swords at once, but usually, they only brought one out. They had never seen a situation like Lin Qingyue’s.
“Do we need to intervene?”
“Let’s watch first. It’s not like there haven’t been cases of resonating with other swords before.”
“True. If something happens, we can just go in and bring him out.”
The two Sword Guardian Elders discussed it and finally decided not to interfere but to wait and see. If they intervened and caused the disciple to fail in retrieving a sword, it would be a sin.
Lin Qingyue, who had taken the sword and was ready to leave, had truly been “scammed” by these clingy swords. He looked at the Cyan Jade Sword in his hand and complained, “You’re not a sword; you’re a powerful magnet, aren’t you?”
Otherwise, why would swords flock to him wherever he went with it?
Lin Qingyue started to feel a bit disdainful of the Cyan Jade Sword, but then he thought about it and changed his mind.
What a great sword. If I get into a fight with someone later, I can just let it suck the opponent’s weapon over. Problem solved.
“Good sword. As expected of a famous sword. Truly excellent, very useful.” He patted the Cyan Jade Sword and praised it.
The other swords seemed unconvinced. How is a Cyan Jade Sword better than us? They were dissatisfied, and one by one, they crowded in front of Lin Qingyue.
Lin Qingyue, who hadn’t started cultivating yet, was knocked to the ground by them. He felt a bit dazed.
The familiar feeling returned—weak and fragile, unable to jump or run, unable to go anywhere, only able to watch the scenery from the window every day.
After a moment of daze, he climbed up from the ground. “Can’t you guys just go back and stay put honestly? Do you know that if this were anywhere else, this would be called intentional injury? Be careful, or you’ll be suppressed underground.”
As he spoke, Lin Qingyue suddenly thought of a problem.
The swords in the Ten Thousand Sword Tomb were an accumulation of all swords since the founding of the sect. It was impossible for there to be only one good sword; there were good ones and bad ones.
Anyway, with so many swords, it shouldn’t be a problem if he took a few more out, right?
No, wait. It wasn’t that he was taking a few more swords out; it was that these swords insisted on following him. They refused to leave. He couldn’t refuse them; their hospitality was hard to turn down.
Lin Qingyue coughed lightly twice. “People usually have to fight for what they want. It’s the same for objects. You guys understand, right?”
Demons danced wildly—these swords started fighting. And the one getting beaten the worst turned out to be the Cyan Jade Sword.
Lin Qingyue: “…”
How could he expect these swords to understand scheming? Lin Qingyue felt he must be going crazy.
Too tired to run, he simply found a spot to sit down. “Put some effort into it, everyone! Let’s see who is the strongest.”
“Let’s get this straight first: fight all you want, just don’t hurt me. If I’m gone, you’re all finished.”
“This is outrageous!”
Elder Su, one of the Sword Guardian Elders, felt terrible watching this scene. He said to the other Sword Guardian Elder beside him, “Old Ma, quick, bring that child out. Otherwise, in a while, he’s going to turn the Ten Thousand Sword Tomb upside down.”
Elder Ma didn’t think much of it. “Old Su, it’s just a child acting on a whim. How big of a deal can it be? The Sword Tomb is so huge; it’s not as exaggerated as you say.”
At this moment, Elder Ma didn’t know how much he had underestimated the bizarre nature of someone with half-baked strength in the cultivation world who knew nothing. The trouble a person could cause was unimaginable.
“I think we still need to get the Sect Leader and this child’s master.”
As Elder Su spoke, he turned and ordered a disciple to go notify the Sect Leader and Guizang Peak.
Ye Zhanxiu and the Sect Leader arrived together. As soon as he arrived, he hurriedly asked Ye Jingxian about the situation.
Surely it wasn’t that someone was bullying their newly accepted young disciple of Guizang Peak, or that the child was injured?
Before Ye Zhanxiu could ask, Elder Su explained the matter to the Sect Leader.
“To think such a rare thing has occurred.”
