Vicious Cannon Fodder, But a Squeamish Heartthrob chapter 15

Chapter 15: Supreme Nightclub

As long as Zhou Yuejun didn’t rush him, Yu Deng ate in small, delicate bites, chewing slowly, yet his cheeks still puffed out into rounded curves.

As he chewed his rice, Zhou Yuejun wanted to chew his face.

Yu Deng tilted his head slightly, his watery eyes shimmering with confusion.

“Why? Why do you have to come back later? Do you have to work that long at the construction site?”

Even though Yu Deng only craved enjoyment, he knew that work at the site was exhausting.

Sometimes when Zhou Yuejun wore a vest, his back was partially exposed, and Yu Deng could see the redness—marks from the weight he carried. His hands were also roughened by the friction of scorching steel bars.

Capturing Yu Deng’s concern, Zhou Yuejun felt filled with energy, though he wouldn’t let Yu Deng worry for nothing.

“Not working, just doing night watch.”

“I can be back by two.”

Yu Deng recalled the old ladies’ gossip about materials being stolen from construction sites, so he took it for granted that Zhou Yuejun was going to guard the site at night.

Despite this, Yu Deng still pouted and grumbled his complaints.

“That won’t earn much money, though.”

“From two to five-thirty, you can only sleep for three hours. It’s so hard. You still have to work during the day; won’t your body break down like this?”

He was a little “ne-ne” monster, knowing nothing but how to act spoiled.

Zhou Yuejun’s brow was deep, and the corners of his eyes tilted up slightly; he didn’t find it hard at all: “I can earn from it. I’ll come back at noon to rest for two hours and won’t go back so early.”

The boy lowered his delicate brows, not knowing what to say. He pursed his cinnabar-red lips, exhaling a faint fragrance.

“Alright then. Don’t make breakfast for me in the morning. I’ll go buy food and eat the buns from downstairs.”

This way, Zhou Yuejun could sleep for another half hour.

However, to maintain his persona, Yu Deng added a layer of arrogant cover-up, speaking harsh words.

“It’s not that I’m worried about you! It’s just that you make so much noise with the pots and pans every morning—clatter, clatter—it’s very loud and disturbs my sleep!”

Zhou Yuejun’s dark, phoenix-like eyes were narrow and deep, his entire attention fixed on the boy’s slender brows and bright eyes.

When the little beauty frowned and pursed his lips into a fleshy pout, it only made Zhou Yuejun want to press against those soft red lips to see if they were actually hard at all.

“Alright, I’ll listen to you.”

The breakfast shop near the building sold many varieties of breakfast. Zhou Yuejun even bought glutinous rice cakes for Yu Deng.

They were sticky, somewhat like zongzi, with red beans inside.

The glutinous rice wasn’t to his liking, so Yu Deng used his chopsticks to pick out the red beans, leaving the rice for Zhou Yuejun.

He couldn’t finish what Zhou Yuejun bought him, and he’d want a different flavor for the next meal. The leftovers couldn’t be thrown away, so they could only sit in the bowl waiting for Zhou Yuejun to return and eat them.

After breakfast, Yu Deng went to water his seeds, looking forward to Zhou Yuejun taking him to buy the TV and fridge the day after tomorrow.

What Yu Deng didn’t know was that Zhou Yuejun wasn’t guarding a construction site; he was at a nightclub.

This border area was far from the city center, chaotic and filled with hidden filth. The Supreme Nightclub was the only entertainment venue in the vicinity.

The patrons were a mix of all sorts—from officials and businessmen to local thugs. Almost every night, there was some sort of disturbance.

Before Zhou Yuejun arrived, a bouncer at the nightclub had just been knifed. His leg had been slashed twice, leaving him unable to work and bedridden for two months.

The manager saw Zhou Yuejun’s muscular build and the natural air of ferocity on his cold, stern face, deciding he was good material to hold down the fort.

“It’s settled then. The monthly salary is three hundred yuan. If you do well and customers give tips or the boss wants to slip you something extra, that’s all yours.”

There weren’t that many generous customers, but Zhou Yuejun had heard that the boss would slip people extra money every month to win their loyalty.

Zhou Yuejun was a man of few words; he simply nodded and began patrolling the nightclub with a veteran.

As for what he actually did, it was throwing out anyone who caused a scene. If they wouldn’t leave, he’d use force. When encountering those looking for trouble, getting physical was inevitable.

Zhou Yuejun was well aware that he was stepping onto the path of the “underworld,” though it wasn’t quite like the police movies with knives and guns everywhere.

He figured that since the sun rose early in summer, working in the morning wasn’t so hot. So he’d go to the construction site at six in the morning and come back for a break at noon.

After finishing dinner, he could squeeze in some more work at the site; every little bit counted.

By seven in the evening, his shift at the nightclub began, lasting until the early hours of the morning.

By the end of the month, he could earn quite a lot.

When Zhou Yuejun returned home, he found the bedroom light still on. The door wasn’t fully closed, leaving a crack that allowed the orange-yellow light to fall onto the living room table.

There sat a bowl of mung bean soup.

Not asleep yet?

“Dengdeng?”

Zhou Yuejun’s heart felt an itch. Truly believing Yu Deng was still awake and waiting for him, he didn’t rush to wash up but entered the bedroom first.

Inside, the boy’s sleeping posture was terrible. Half his face was pressed against a book, causing his lips to squeeze into a thin slit with a hint of crystalline moisture escaping.

He had fallen asleep halfway through reading.

If Zhou Yuejun had come back any later, drool would have soaked the book.

Zhou Yuejun gently cradled Yu Deng’s head to pull the book out, but a red patch had already been pressed into Yu Deng’s face, looking like red plum blossoms on snow.

He noticed Yu Deng’s index finger was red, as if burned. This made him think of the mung bean soup on the table.

Sleeping with his head tilted like that would easily cause a stiff neck, so he adjusted Yu Deng’s head.

He then lowered his own head. First, like a large wolf-dog, he sniffed the sweet fragrance on Yu Deng’s body that was absolutely fatal to him. Then, truly acting like a dog, he stuck out his tongue.

His well-defined fingers pinched the boy’s cheek; the flesh was soft. His tongue licked up the clear sweetness, his taste buds occupied by the delicious flavor.

He began to greedily crave that sweet, honeyed taste.

Yu Deng’s mouth was small and tender; he didn’t dare pinch too hard.

The lips were fleshy, and because Zhou Yuejun was a “carnivore,” he couldn’t behave. His teeth felt itchy.

After a bit of tossing about, they became congested with blood. It felt as though that thin layer of skin would break, and the labial tubercle would be ruined.

When he let go, the flesh of the cheek was slightly sunken, with red marks left behind.

Zhou Yuejun tapped the tip of Yu Deng’s nose. Enduring the agonizing heat of desire, he only dared a shallow taste.

As for everything else, no matter how much agony it caused, he could only suppress it.

Aside from rainy days and leaves of absence, the construction site generally gave one day of rest every ten days.

They couldn’t truly work people like beasts. In this heat, if something happened and a scene was made, it would surely delay the project.

“Let’s go, let’s go! Hurry up! We’re going to buy the TV!”

Yu Deng couldn’t stop his mumbling urges. Standing at the door, he even stomped his feet.

Zhou Yuejun said they would go to the city this morning. After being woken up, Yu Deng didn’t show a hint of morning grumpiness.

To go out, he wore the new clothes and shoes Zhou Yuejun had bought him before, looking as if he were celebrating the New Year.

The light blue T-shirt was a bright shade, paired with cotton shorts that ended just above the knee. The fabric was thin and breathable, and he wore small white sneakers.

While this outfit wasn’t a brand-name display from a department store, no one would doubt Yu Deng’s nobility; they would only think he was a fair and beautiful young master from some wealthy family.

Because the boy’s features were exquisite, his smile made his face look like it was dusted with powder, and his lips were like budding flowers. His pure, spring-water eyes held not a trace of filth.

And he, just like in the movies, was the bodyguard following behind the young master.
