Chapter 153: Extra – The Final Time, Starting Over
He didn’t wait. He didn’t even get to see the youth for the last time. The hospital refused visitation, and he couldn’t even see the body for the final time.
Du Feng sat in the glass room at the highest point of the manor, the warm sun falling on him. Within the colorful gemstone dome, there was a small box. He took the box down and held it in his hand.
There was no one else in the manor. In this era without a master, there was no need for an audience or companionship. All self-indulgent solo acts must eventually come to an end.
Du Feng walked slowly through the long corridor, passing one patch of sunlight after another. The man was briefly surrounded by brightness, only to return to the darkness. Each step made a crisp yet heavy sound, echoing far in the large, empty house.
It seemed the invisible heavy chains on his ankles had long ago imprisoned him. And that endless term of imprisonment had neither an end nor hope. It felt as if the surrounding silence had materialized into a gloomy, ink-like mass, surging toward him.
Swallowing, gnawing, numbing.
Du Fengās footsteps paused as he looked out the window. Today was a beautiful, clear day. There wasn’t a single cloud in the sky. Sunlight poured through the azure canopy into the window frame, leaving rectangular silhouettes on the marble floor.
The manor was large. Now that there was no one, it felt even emptier. Du Feng walked alone, starting slowly from the first room on the ground floor.
The game room, the movie room, the wine cellar. The dining room, the study, the bedroom. Each room contained things he had prepared for the youth. Du Feng looked through the rooms one by one; the phantoms of all the things the youth would have done inside slowly dimmed. Similarly, they took away the vitality in the manās eyes.
Dreams must end. Whether they are beautiful or nightmares. After waking up, only he was left.
Until the very last room. Du Feng paused for a long, long time before gathering the courage to open it.
On the wall directly facing him were the 198 death experiences. Each short line of record was a real occurrence of blood and pain. They were real separations, time and time again. Every moment told Du Feng he was useless. He was a piece of trash who couldn’t even save his own lover.
Du Feng slowly raised his head, looking at that wall, feeling a groundless hatred. But his eyes held only void. He loathed himself. He similarly loathed being alive. He loathed that incapable, powerless self that could actually still be alive.
Sunlight fell on Du Feng through the glass, illuminating half of the man’s face. He gazed at his own hunched shadow on the floor. Like a withered soul wandering in this bright and brilliant world.
The silver gun in his hand still bore a faint scent of Night-Blooming Cereus. That was a small bit of final solace Du Feng would obtain from the youth using various reasons every time they restarted.
At leastāit seemed they could die together.
When the muzzle was pressed against his jaw, Du Feng was exceptionally calm. He slowly stroked the photo of the youth on the wall. It was how he looked at their wedding. In an exquisite white suit, his beautiful eyes looking beyond the lens.
From beginning to end, Du Feng didn’t speak another word. The ring that had been prepared long ago was placed in front of the photo.
Within the vast, deathly silent manor, a resolute gunshot rang out. Birds were startled into flight, and the clear sky remained as it was.
The 200th time. The final time. Starting over.
Chapter 154: Extra – Continuing the Seaside Gathering / CP Chat Time
Everyone chose that beach trip that hadn’t ended. Last time, the trip was interrupted by the sudden attack of the humanoid Zerg. This time, they would continue the journey.
However, the team of six had gained two more people.
The place they chose had an average temperature of thirty degreesānot like the winter in the Imperial Capitalāso everyone was dressed in short sleeves and shorts.
Shen Zhuo didn’t plan on going into the water this time. He changed into a thin sun-protection jacket. Being in the same room as before, his cheeks flushed when he saw the bright floor-to-ceiling windows.
He turned around, and Du Feng just happened to reach out from behind, embracing him. The gentle Rosemary scent enveloped the youth.
“Still feeling a bit uncomfortable?” the man asked.
Beside him, Du Feng carried a bag filled with everything they might possibly need, having transformed into “Dora-Feng.”
Shen Zhuo was about to speak when his turning body suddenly froze. He looked incredulously at the curve of his lower abdomen and blinked several times.
Du Feng, not understanding, nearly pulled out his phone to call an ambulance. He was stopped by the youth, who took his hand and moved it to his belly:
“Feel it.”
Du Feng touched it; there was no difference from before.
“He moved.” Meeting the manās confused gaze, Shen Zhuo said with surprise.
Du Feng took a breath and cautiously felt with his hand again. “Nothing.”
Shen Zhuo moved his hand away and touched it himself. “He moved just now… he moved again!”
Du Feng tried to feel again, but there was no movement. After going back and forth like this several times, Du Feng finally understood.
This little guy only liked Daddy.
“He responds when Madam is close; he doesn’t like me.” The Alpha started to feel groundlessly aggrieved.
Shen Zhuo pinched the manās face, finding it funny. “How could that be?”
Du Feng looked at Shen Zhuoās belly, feeling a mysterious sense of crisis for the first time.
Ji Weishen sat on the edge of the bed, changing into beach shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. He looked up and saw the engagement ring between Ai Liās fingers. His heart felt full and bloated, with a touch of sweetness.
Ai Li was tinkering with something; he had installed a bright light strip on Ji Weishenās prosthetic leg. When the lights were on, the flashing colored lights gave off a very cybernetic, sci-fi feel.
“Here, take it, my bionic boyfriend…” Ai Li laughed as he handed over the mechanical leg, the last word rolling on his tongue, “…Husband.”
Ai Li was never stingy with such intimate titles. He could often make Ji Weishenās head spin.
Ji Weishen immediately put it on.
Ji Weishen: [Obedient].
“Li-zi.”
“Hm?” Ai Li turned around, stuffing things they might use later into the bag, then found a pair of sunglasses to put on. His eyes were mostly healed, but he still couldn’t use them for long periods; sunglasses were a must on the beach.
“It’s nothing, hehe.” Ji Weishen was just grinning foolishly.
“Idiot,” Ai Li laughed and cursed. “In the future, the kid can only look like you, but their brains have to come from me.”
“Kid!” Ji Weishenās eyes lit up. “You want to have a kid with me?!”
This sentence actually stunned Ai Li. He stepped forward and pinched the Alphaās ear. “You don’t want one?”
Even being pinched, Ji Weishen only laughed, wrapping his arms around Ai Liās waist and pulling him onto his lap. “But we have to wait until after the wedding.”
The next second, Ai Li pushed his sunglasses to the top of his head and leaned in. His nose was only a few millimeters from Ji Weishenās, his breath mixed with the sweet scent of pear as it puffed onto the Alphaās face.
“You’re really holding back.” Ai Liās fingertips touched the scar on his face. “Am I not enticing you enough?”
There was a hint of complaint in his tone. His deep blue eyes were mostly covered by his lashes, his features exquisite and more beautiful than the sea.
The scar felt a slight itch. Ji Weishen swallowed and denied in a hoarse voice, “No…”
“Then what is it?” the youth breathed like orchids. His fingertips gradually slid down from the bridge of the nose, tapping on the manās lips, rubbing them gently twice.
Ji Weishenās lips trembled, his eyes blinking frantically, trying to use the wind from his blinking to blow the youth further away. Because his hands couldn’t bring themselves to push the person away.
“Because before the wedding, I want to respect you.”
Ji Weishen always acted like a pure-hearted puppy in front of him. Usually, they were joking and messing around. These words made Ai Li stop his intended teasing.
Not touched at all, hmph.
“Fine, I’ll count that as a valid reason. Then do you want a kiss as a reward?”
“Yes! A kiss is okay!”
“Ehehe, not giving it.”
“Just one kiss, waah, Li-zi…”
Feng Muya pulled a bikini out of her suitcase. Looking at the fierce sunlight outside the window, she said to the female Alpha beside her:
“Apply sunblock for me.”
When Feng Muya turned around, a scar could be seen stretching from her shoulder blade to her coccyx. The scab had already fallen off, leaving a pale pink color different from her skin.
Mi Jia had touched the original state of the scar, but even now, her hands would still shake. Feng Muya pulled her hair to her chest and looked at her sideways. “It doesn’t hurt anymore.”
Mi Jia lowered her eyes, her snow-white hair falling from her ears. Without her knightās armor, the womanās long hair reached her waist, softening her sharp features.
“Mm.” Mi Jiaās fingertips pressed against Feng Muyaās back, spreading the sunblock evenly bit by bit. “Princess, can you not wear this?”
Feng Muya was used to Mi Jiaās cold obedience; this sudden refusal piqued her interest. Mi Jia was never like this. The words she said most were “Mm,” “Yes,” “As you command,” and “Understood.” Aside from those, she rarely spoke.
“Why?” Feng Muya tilted her head, revealing a large expanse of her porcelain neck and chest. The girlās figure was surprisingly good; the exquisite curves were usually hidden under her skirts and hard to see. But a bikini was different.
“Can you not wear it,” Mi Jia repeated. This time, she tilted her head to the side, her gaze wandering, not daring to look directly at Feng Muya.
Feng Muya arched an eyebrow, showing an expression that said she had finally found something fun. She leaned closer to Mi Jia.
“Mi Jia, why are you afraid to look at me?” Feng Muya raised both hands to wrap them around the womanās shoulders, her jacket sliding off her shoulders due to the movement.
Mi Jia was about to be suffocated by this person. She really wondered if the Princess had considered the consequences of saying such things. She was indeed a woman, but she was also an Alpha.
“Princess.” Mi Jia turned her head, grabbing Feng Muyaās wrists with a bit of force.
Caught off balance, Feng Muya was pulled into the womanās embrace. Mi Jia was much taller than her; Feng Muya leaned against Mi Jiaās chest, almost swallowed up.
Mi Jiaās figure is so good…
Hehe, sheās destined to be mine.
If sheās going to be this indifferent, then…
“Are you afraid I’ll be seen by others, or that you won’t be able to hold back?” The girl looked up, her beautiful blue-gray eyes like stars flashing in the night sky.
Red Rose pheromones filled the room in an instant like a flower field. S5 pheromonesāno Alpha could resist them.
“Princess.”
The words came from Mi Jiaās mouth with a hint of gritted-teeth endurance. “I am a healthy Alpha.”
Feng Muya feigned surprise. “I didn’t say you weren’t.”
Mi Jiaās gaze narrowed for a moment. Suddenly, she picked the girl up and pinned her wrists directly onto the bed.
“It’s me.”
Feng Muya squinted, seeing Mi Jia reveal an expression different from her usual emotionless face for the first time. She nudged her again with a rising lilt: “You what?”
Mi Jiaās voice was very low, carrying a hoarse tone that had been coaxed out. Her white hair slid down from behind her, intertwining with the girlās long black hair. Her restraint seemed to have reached its limit:
“I… won’t be able to hold back.”
Feng Muya curled her lips. The girl tilted her chin like a precious and beautiful canary:
“Today, I allow you to overstep.”
Fu Qishang sat in his wheelchair, pointing at a glass not far away, showing a bit of his former arrogant temperament. “Water.”
The man immediately went to get it and handed it to him. “Here.”
Fu Qishang turned and pointed again. “Camera.”
Liang Yeta immediately stepped forward. “I’ll carry it.”
Fu Qishang tilted his head, still thinking of how to make things difficult, but he saw Liang Yetaās busy back as he placed everything he might need in suitable positions one by one.
Then there was a knock on the door. Liang Yeta went to get something.
“Hydrangeas.” Liang Yeta held a very beautiful bouquet of hydrangeas and handed them to Fu Qishang. “Your favorite.”
Holding the flowers, the insults at the tip of Fu Qishangās tongue suddenly became hard to say. Recently, Liang Yeta had been exceptionally good to him, even more attentive than when he was chasing Liang Yeta back then.
Now that Jingyue was steadily improving, he, the CEO, had more time to do the things he wanted to doāfor example, a few days ago, he insisted on staying at the Princeās manor.
Fu Qishang naturally wouldn’t be so easily coaxed. But he couldn’t resist the manās soft-and-hard tactics. After hearing the man sneeze three times in a row outside the door, Fu Qishang finally softened his heart and let him into the house.
Then they received the news to continue the trip to the beach. And then, it became like this.
“Liang Yeta.”
“Hm?” Liang Yeta peeked his head out from the nearby corridor, still holding a vase. “What do you want?”
“Come here,” Fu Qishang said.
Watching the man walk over obediently, Fu Qishang suddenly felt a great deal of sighing, and even a bit of secret satisfaction. Liang Yeta, you also have today.
“Don’t think that just because you’re doing these things, I’ll agree to your pursuit.”
Fu Qishang thought it over and decided he had to pay back all the blows he had received before they could be considered even. Therefore, when he said this, he didn’t feel any guilt.
Liang Yeta visibly paused. Fu Qishang saw his body freeze for a moment. Finally, he half-knelt in front of Fu Qishang, looking up at him:
“I know.” Liang Yeta smiled. “But I will wait until you agree. In a few days, it’s your birthday. Iāve already booked dinner; you have to go with me.”
Fu Qishang suddenly realized that he was actually two months older than Liang Yeta. He was a year older than Shen Zhuo, while Liang Yeta and Shen Zhuo were in the same class. But just looking at Liang Yetaās height, he always forgot that the Alpha was actually younger than him.
“I…”
As if knowing what Fu Qishang was thinking, Liang Yeta directly interrupted him. “Promise me, alright?”
Liang Yeta suddenly remembered something. Looking into Fu Qishangās eyes, he spoke slowly:
“…GÄge (Big Brother).”
Those were words that shouldn’t have come from Liang Yetaās mouth; they completely overturned the young CEOās elegant and steady image in Fu Qishangās impression.
Fu Qishangās eyes nearly popped out. For a moment, he even forgot how to breathe.
What…?
GÄ… GÄge?!
