On New Year’s Eve, Chen Zirui got his leave approved and came to the apartment where Gu Huaiye and Xie Miaohan lived.
Carrying bags big and small, he collapsed onto the sofa as soon as he entered.
“Exhausted Lao…” Chen Zirui paused, glanced at Xie Miaohan busy in the kitchen, and corrected himself, “Exhausted me.”

“Sleep here tonight. The room is already tidied up for you. You can go back to District A tomorrow morning.”

Gu Huaiye cried out in surprise, looking up to meet Xie Miaohan’s darkened gaze.
Before he could speak, his lips were blocked, kissed until he couldn’t breathe.
