“I’m old; I really can’t out-argue you.” Father Gu sighed. “Ordered the ring yet?”

“Not yet.” Gu Huaiye shook his head. “I plan to stay here with Miaomiao for a few more days, then sneak out to order the ring. Keep it a secret for me; I want to give him a surprise.”

Father Gu glared at him unhappily. “I don’t see you putting this much effort into my birthday every year.”

Gu Huaiye didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. “No way, I get a headache picking gifts every time.”

Father Gu was just saying it; he wasn’t really jealous of them.

“I’ll help you contact the jewelry store. Since you’re going to spend a lifetime with him, the ring preparation definitely can’t be sloppy.”

Gu Huaiye knew which jewelry store Father Gu meant. He also planned to order the ring there.
