Chapter 181: Is it Time for a Hug?

“Hiss—”

Gu Huaiye grimaced in pain; even just sitting up was extremely difficult.

“Xie Miaohan!” Gu Huaiye shouted loudly towards the door. “Get your ass in here!”

In less than a minute, Xie Miaohan opened the door and walked in, holding a glass of warm milk.

“Huaiye, you’re finally awake.” Xie Miaohan came to sit by the bed, a touch of apology appearing on his handsome face. “Is it very uncomfortable? I should have controlled myself.”

This attitude was so good that Gu Huaiye couldn’t get angry at all.

But thinking about it carefully, he felt something was wrong—he seemed to be getting the short end of the stick.

Last night when they went to bed, it was the rebellious and domineering “Xiaohan,” but now that he was awake, it was back to the gentle and considerate Miaomiao.

“Drink some milk first.” Xie Miaohan carefully helped him up. “It’s afternoon now; drink something to line your stomach.”

Gu Huaiye took a sip and handed the glass back.

“What time did you get up?”

“Twelve noon,” Xie Miaohan answered obediently. “There’s nothing to do these next two days, so I’ll stay home and keep you company properly.”

Gu Huaiye hurriedly raised his hand. “Don’t, my butt can’t take it.”

Xie Miaohan placed the glass on the cabinet and wrapped his arm around Gu Huaiye’s shoulders.

“Huaiye, I’m already satisfied. I won’t touch you for the next two days.”

Gu Huaiye snorted coldly, feigning unhappiness. “Why aren’t you pretending to be Xiaohan anymore?”

“You don’t like him, so I’ll let him appear less.”

Gu Huaiye felt like this sentence was setting a trap for him. He raised his hand and pinched Xie Miaohan’s ear.

“You are the same person; there’s no need to distinguish between liking one or the other.”

Xie Miaohan curved his lips and didn’t speak, gazing affectionately at Gu Huaiye.

Sitting was uncomfortable for Gu Huaiye, so he simply leaned into Xie Miaohan’s embrace.

“In a while, I plan to go back to District A to help Dad pack his things,” Gu Huaiye said. “I don’t know if he’ll be used to living here. Let him stay for a short period first to adapt to the environment.”

“Okay, I’ll go back with you.”

Gu Huaiye nodded and continued, “However, before we go, we have to look at houses first. The apartment we live in now is too small; it’s inconvenient for him to move around.”

And he didn’t know if the soundproofing was good. If they said anything improper in the room and Father Gu heard it, that would be huge trouble.

He wouldn’t have the face to appear before Father Gu.

“Alright, I’ll contact a real estate agent in the next few days.”

Gu Huaiye was silent for a while, then suddenly took Xie Miaohan’s hand and stroked the ring on his ring finger.

Ever since his successful proposal, this ring had stayed on Xie Miaohan’s hand, never taken off.

Once, while washing dishes, Xie Miaohan accidentally let the ring slip off, and it rolled into a crevice under the counter, impossible to retrieve.

“What is an Omega like you doing here? You can’t carry anything; you’re just taking up space,” Chen Zirui mocked Xiang Wanxing while moving things.

Xiang Wanxing turned to look at Gu Huaiye. “You’re the heir to the Gu Group; is it hard to hire some movers? If you’re really short on money, I’ll pay for it, okay? Treating my Zirui like a dog, calling him here and th…”

Chen Zirui stomped hard on Xiang Wanxing’s foot. The pain from his toes made Xiang Wanxing shut up.

“Brother Gu, he goes crazy often. Ignore him.”

Gu Huaiye: “……” His eyes looked like he wanted to kill him.

Xiang Wanxing was furious, gritting his teeth and glaring at the two of them.

Good brothers are more important than me, huh?

If he had known earlier, he would have bribed Gu Huaiye’s real estate agent to prevent Gu Huaiye from buying a house near the Xiang family.

Living so close now, Chen Zirui would definitely run over to Gu Huaiye’s place every day.

Just thinking about it made him angry.

Gu Huaiye and Chen Zirui went to the study on the second floor to organize things.

“Before the Gu Group moves here, we’ll work here temporarily,” Gu Huaiye said with a smile. “There are two desks here; see which one you want.”

The two tidied up for a while when Chen Zirui suddenly spoke up. “Brother Gu, I feel like all of this is a dream.”

Gu Huaiye paused in his actions and turned to look at Chen Zirui. “Why do you say that?”

“Originally, I didn’t expect to do very well. Drinking and fooling around every day was just to numb myself. I thought I would muddle through life like that, but I didn’t expect to actually climb up to the Xiang family and become a leader in your company. It really feels so unreal.”

Gu Huaiye put down the things in his hand, walked up to Chen Zirui, and patted his shoulder.

“Don’t feel it’s unreal; this belongs to you.” Gu Huaiye paused, then continued, “Just like you said, it’s destiny.”

“Brother Gu…”

Before Chen Zirui could finish speaking, a cough came from the doorway.

The two turned around and saw Xiang Wanxing leaning against the doorframe.

“Go on, keep talking,” Xiang Wanxing said with obvious jealousy in his tone. “Is it time for a hug now?”

Gu Huaiye awkwardly lowered his hand.

“Childish,” Chen Zirui said with a look of disdain.

Xiang Wanxing sneered, walked over, and pinched the back of Chen Zirui’s neck.

“The Xiang family has so many businesses; you can manage whichever one you want. Go there, and you’re the boss. With so many choices, do you have to be a lackey at the Gu Group?”

“I just want to go there. Don’t control me so much,” Chen Zirui said with a straight face. “If you try to control me again, I won’t marry you.”

This sentence was very effective; Xiang Wanxing stopped nagging.

Chen Zirui turned his head and winked at Gu Huaiye.

Of course, he could choose to manage the Xiang family’s businesses.

But he also knew that as long as he went to work at the Gu Group, it was equivalent to binding their interests.

If anything happened to the Gu Group one day, Xiang Wanxing wouldn’t sit by and do nothing.
