Chapter 19: He Wanted to Molest Me

Gu Huaiye wasn’t very familiar with this Senior; he had only had drinks with him a few times when participating in club activities before.

He didn’t have his contact information either. Presumably, when he was making calls just now, a friend had leaked the news that he was borrowing money.

Gu Huaiye no longer cared if they were badmouthing him behind his back. As long as he could borrow money, they could call him an idiot for all he cared.

He hurriedly arrived at the Senior’s private box. A group of people sat on the sofas inside, and he simply couldn’t find which one was the Senior.

“Little Ye, over here.” A man sitting in the middle waved at him.

Gu Huaiye smiled at him and walked over.

“Hello, Senior.”

“You came quite fast. Did you take a taxi?”

“Yes.” Gu Huaiye paused, worried that this would make people think he was too extravagant and refuse to lend him money, so he explained, “I was worried about making you wait too long, so I took a taxi.”

The man motioned for the person beside him to move over, then patted the sofa.

“Come sit. Let’s drink together.”

Gu Huaiye hadn’t contacted him for several years, and he didn’t know anyone else in the box. Drinking would be impossible; it would only be awkward.

He refused with a smile, “No thanks, I have matters to deal with tomorrow morning.”

The man’s face sank, displeased. “Seems like you aren’t giving this Senior any face.”

Gu Huaiye’s heart skipped a beat, seeing that he might not be willing to lend the money anymore.

The man immediately poured him a drink. “Here, have a glass first.”

Gu Huaiye said “Thank you,” threw his head back, and downed the glass.

“Not bad, your tolerance is the same as before.”

Gu Huaiye put down the glass, his expression serious. “Senior, thank you for your help. I really need money urgently right now, but rest assured, I won’t fail to pay it back. The police are already recovering the funds transferred abroad. As soon as I get that money, I’ll pay you back immediately.”

The man laughed and leaned closer to Gu Huaiye, draping his arm over Gu Huaiye’s shoulder.

Gu Huaiye frowned but didn’t say anything.

“No rush. It’s just five hundred thousand. I don’t lack this money; you can pay it back whenever.”

“There has to be a deadline. I’ll try my best to pay you back this year.”

The man stared at Gu Huaiye’s face, his heart itching, and couldn’t resist reaching out to touch it.

Gu Huaiye jolted up, his face looking nasty. “Senior, what are you doing?”

Seeing Gu Huaiye’s huge reaction, the man grew impatient and stopped pretending.

He said bluntly, “What do you think I’m lending you money for? Charity? Gu Shao, I’m afraid you were protected too well by the Gu family and don’t know that there’s no such thing as a free lunch in this world.”

“I said I would pay you back.”

The man exchanged glances with his friends, and immediately, the group burst into laughter.

“I can get interest if I put five hundred thousand in the bank, so why should I lend it to you for free?”

“I can pay interest too.”

The man seemed to find his words even more ridiculous, his eyes full of pity.

“You are penniless right now. Giving me only an empty promise, I’m afraid you won’t be able to pay back this money in this lifetime.”

Gu Huaiye saw that this person was deliberately toying with him.

He instantly lost the desire to borrow money, turned around, and wanted to leave.

The man grabbed Gu Huaiye’s wrist. “Hey, don’t go. I can waive the repayment. Just stay with me for a year. Just one year. When I get tired of playing with you, you can leave.”

Hearing this, Gu Huaiye felt utterly disgusted.

He immediately shook off the other’s hand and said coldly, “Laozi is an Alpha.”

The man disapproved. “So what? Didn’t you marry an Alpha back then too? I haven’t tried an Alpha yet; I think it’d be quite fresh.”

Gu Huaiye had restrained his temper recently, but hearing such filthy words would enrage anyone, no matter how good their temper was.

He crossed his arms, looking the man up and down with disgust.

“Before you keep a lover, do you not look in the mirror? Only in your early thirties, yet your belly is as big as if you’re pregnant. Your face is oily and dirty. Even if you gave me ten million, I wouldn’t be willing.”

“What!” The man’s eyes went wide.

“You want to keep someone yet you’re so stingy—five hundred thousand a year.” Gu Huaiye laughed out loud, his eyes mocking. “When Laozi was chasing Xie Miaohan, I smashed down millions every month. If you don’t have the destiny to be a sugar daddy, don’t try to imitate one. Aren’t you afraid of being laughed at if word gets out?”

The man stood up, face flushed red, and rolled up his sleeves.

“Fine. It seems you need to be taught a lesson.”

There was no fear on Gu Huaiye’s face; instead, a hint of excitement flowed out.

He hadn’t fought anyone in a long time. He had been feeling suffocated recently and was just looking for a punching bag.

A few hours later, Xie Miaohan arrived at the police station.

Looking up, he saw Gu Huaiye, bruised and swollen. His brow instantly turned ruthless.

“Your family member is here,” the police officer sitting opposite Gu Huaiye reminded him.

Gu Huaiye’s spine stiffened, and he buried his head lower.

Cao! Embarrassing as hell.

And he had a nosebleed, currently plugged with tissue.

This image must be ugly enough.

It was like going downstairs looking like a slob to throw out the trash, turning around, and seeing your glamorous ex.

It couldn’t be more stifling.

Fortunately, Xie Miaohan hadn’t found a partner yet. Otherwise, seeing the other party bring a beautiful current partner over, he would have smashed his head into a block of tofu and died right there.

“He is not my family.” Gu Huaiye whispered, “I am preparing to divorce him.”

“If you haven’t divorced, he is your wife.” The officer in charge of the group brawl case was an Omega and couldn’t help but stand from the wife’s perspective. “You, as an Alpha, have no sense of responsibility. Getting into a group fight is one thing, but not even acknowledging your own wife? And he even came this late to pick you up.”

Gu Huaiye was in the wrong and didn’t dare refute.

“What happened? Why fight?”

Gu Huaiye pouted, pointing at the man sitting not far away who was equally bruised and swollen.

“He tried to molest me.”

Xie Miaohan immediately turned his gaze toward the man, his eyes carrying danger.

Afraid the police would misunderstand, the man spoke excitedly, “He begged to borrow money from me. I refused, so he hit me. Not apologizing is one thing, but he’s spitting blood to frame me! Officer, I want to sue him. I do not agree to settle!”

The officer slapped the table sternly with a file.

“Behave yourselves!”

Gu Huaiye was furious. The private box was full of the man’s friends, and there was no surveillance, so he couldn’t prove the man harassed him.

“Their situation looks more like mutual combat; there’s no issue of suing or not.”

Xie Miaohan said with a cold, grim face, “If possible, I want to take him home now.”

The officer nodded. “Just go through the procedures.”

“Hey! No way!” The man stood up, pointing a finger at Gu Huaiye. “He beat me this badly; I have to sue him to death.”

“Are you saying I’m not badly hurt?” Gu Huaiye sneered. “You commanded your brothers to beat me up together. Bullying with numbers is the only skill you have.”

“You f*cking slander me! Officer, I want to sue him for defamation too.”

Gu Huaiye clicked his tongue.

“Illiterate regarding the law.”

Suddenly, his shoulder was patted.

Looking up, he saw Xie Miaohan’s tightly furrowed brow.

“Alright, stop making a scene.”

Being told this, the rims of Gu Huaiye’s eyes gradually turned red, his heart feeling indescribably aggrieved.

Not believing him was one thing.

But telling him not to make a scene?

If he was so annoyed by him, why come to the police station?

Xie Miaohan signed a few documents and paid the bail.

“Let’s go.”

Seeing them about to leave, the man was relentless. “Why are you leaving? You haven’t apologized to me yet.”

The next second, Xie Miaohan cast a glance at him, instantly silencing him.

That look was too terrifying.

Like being targeted by a venomous snake—ruthless and gloomy.

Xie Miaohan withdrew his gaze and pulled up Gu Huaiye’s hand.

“Let’s go. I’ll drive you.”

Gu Huaiye stood up reluctantly, shook off Xie Miaohan’s hand, and walked ahead.

Half an hour after they left, the man’s family also arrived and was processing the paperwork for him.

The police officer suddenly received a phone call. His brow sank. After hanging up, he took out handcuffs and cuffed the man.

“Ah? What’s the meaning of this?” The man was confused.

“We suspect you of drugging multiple Omegas and violating their sexual autonomy. We are now arresting you according to the law. Please cooperate.”

The man’s face turned deathly pale, unable to utter a single word.
