Chapter 24: He Was Free long Ago

Xie Miaohan hadn’t gone to the company for a week straight. He kept a very close watch on Gu Huaiye, seemingly inseparable.

While Gu Huaiye was playing games, he sensed Xie Miaohan’s strange gaze from behind.

He put down the controller and couldn’t help asking, “Don’t you have work? Did you get fired?”

Xie Miaohan looked at him for a long while, then suddenly stood up, came behind him, sat on the floor together, and pulled him into his arms.

This posture was incredibly awkward. Gu Huaiye didn’t hesitate at all and started to break free from Xie Miaohan’s arms.

Xie Miaohan held him tighter, his lips pressing against Gu Huaiye’s ear, making Gu Huaiye’s heart itch.

“What are you doing?”

“Actually, last month I participated in the auction for your family’s villa.”

Gu Huaiye stopped struggling, a look of surprise on his face.

“But with that incident happening suddenly, I never found a chance to tell you.”

Gu Huaiye turned his head. “You bought the villa?”

“En.” Xie Miaohan’s eyes held a smile as he whispered, “I had someone clean it last week. Do you want to go back and take a look?”

Gu Huaiye moved his lips, but the next second, he shook his head with a gloomy expression.

“Forget it. My dad is gone; things are different now.”

The smile on Xie Miaohan’s face faded, and he frowned slightly. “Just go back for one night?”

Gu Huaiye shook his head with a lack of interest. “Going back for a trip isn’t convenient either. My family’s things aren’t there anymore; to me, it’s just an ordinary building.”

Hearing this, Xie Miaohan stopped persuading him to go back.

“Let go of me first.” Gu Huaiye struggled again. “Laozi still wants to play games.”

Xie Miaohan’s hand on his waist showed no intention of moving.

“Do you want to go out and play with Chen Zirui?”

Gu Huaiye turned around, staring at Xie Miaohan with a strange look.

“What exactly do you want to do?”

“Didn’t you say you have no friends to play with? Then I’ll call Chen Zirui over to keep you company.”

These words thoroughly angered Gu Huaiye. He shoved Xie Miaohan’s shoulder angrily.

“Are you sick? Before, you were the one threatening him not to play with me. Changing your mind every day—do you think he’s very free? You’re only satisfied if everyone obeys your orders, right?”

If it were before, they would have argued long ago, but Xie Miaohan had no intention of arguing with him. His slightly furrowed brow relaxed.

Seeing Gu Huaiye this energetic, he didn’t need to worry too much.

“If you don’t want to call him, then we won’t.” Xie Miaohan rubbed his head and said gently, “It’s enough having me with you.”

Gu Huaiye glared at him. “Sick.”

Turning around, he continued playing his game.

Xie Miaohan stared at his slightly red ears, his Adam’s apple rolling. He couldn’t help leaning in and kissing it.

Gu Huaiye dodged with a shudder and wiped his ear with his hand.

His subconscious gesture of disgust was seen by Xie Miaohan, a dangerous glint appearing in his eyes.

“How long are you going to avoid me?” Xie Miaohan’s voice carried a chill. “I endured the last susceptibility period myself. This month’s is coming soon; you should help me this time.”

Gu Huaiye ignored him, sitting a bit further away, continuing to play his game as if nothing happened.

Xie Miaohan stared at his back expressionlessly and said, “You haven’t forgotten your duty, have you? If you keep evading like this, then I will…”

Xie Miaohan suddenly stopped.

Will what?

Father Gu was dead; Gu Huaiye no longer needed to bear the high medical costs.

To put it bluntly, Gu Huaiye was actually free long ago. As long as his material desires weren’t high, he could leave here at any time.

A trace of uneasiness arose in Xie Miaohan’s heart, and he pinched the bridge of his nose irritably.

He was thinking of an excuse to keep Gu Huaiye. At this moment, Gu Huaiye put down the game console and turned to look at him.

“Do you still want a permanent mark?”

Gu Huaiye had little patience to begin with. Seeing him not answer for so long, he turned back to continue playing.

Xie Miaohan noticed his subconscious dodging movement, a dark look flashing in his eyes.

He held Gu Huaiye down, forcing him to face him.

As long as he didn’t release Alpha pheromones, Gu Huaiye’s strength was no match for Xie Miaohan.

He had no choice but to turn around and meet Xie Miaohan’s eyes.

Xie Miaohan took his hand and placed it on the back of his own neck.

“We can do it now.”

Gu Huaiye frowned. “Are you sure about now?”

“En. It’s a matter of sooner or later anyway, might as well solve it now.”

This was said as if conducting official business, making Gu Huaiye unsure whether to laugh or mock him.

Xie Miaohan grabbed Gu Huaiye’s other hand and pressed it against his cheek, assuming a posture of seduction and weakness.

Immediately after, he released the Wisteria pheromones, surrounding Gu Huaiye in a domineering manner.

Gu Huaiye laughed and leaned in to kiss Xie Miaohan.

While taking off their clothes, Gu Huaiye whispered in Xie Miaohan’s ear, “As long as you don’t hate me.”

Xie Miaohan was stunned, thinking about the meaning of this sentence.

But the next second, a stinging pain came from the back of his neck.

Xie Miaohan’s pupils constricted, his red lips parting slightly.

He was permanently marked.

He had thoroughly become Gu Huaiye’s Omega.

Late at night, Gu Huaiye sat by the floor-to-ceiling window, smoking while gazing at the view outside.

Xie Miaohan opened his eyes. The stinging pain on his neck reminded him of what had happened.

Unlike usual, after waking up this time, a surge of anxious and uneasy feelings welled up in him.

He sat up immediately, looking for Gu Huaiye.

Seeing the person sitting by the window, he felt relieved, got out of bed, and walked towards him.

“Why are you suddenly smoking?”

Gu Huaiye lifted his eyes and flashed a punchable smile at him.

“This is called a post-coital cigarette, understand?”

Xie Miaohan knew he was looking for a fight again, so he didn’t respond, sitting down beside him.

Then, he picked up the cigarette pack Gu Huaiye had placed aside, took one out, and held it between his lips.

Gu Huaiye raised an eyebrow, holding the cigarette in his mouth with a lazy and rogue expression.

“Didn’t you say smoking is bad for health? Why aren’t you quitting quickly?”

“Chatterbox.”

Xie Miaohan reached out to hold the back of Gu Huaiye’s head, leaned in, and lit the cigarette in his own mouth using the fire from Gu Huaiye’s cigarette butt.

Gu Huaiye was startled by this move. It took him a long while to react, shoving Xie Miaohan away.

“Cao, where did you learn that?”

He had to admit, he was almost charmed.

Xie Miaohan narrowed his eyes, blew out a smoke ring, and the anxiety finally dissipated a little.

“When did you wake up?” Xie Miaohan asked.

“I didn’t sleep at all.” Gu Huaiye mocked, “Unlike you with your weak stamina.”

Xie Miaohan curled his lips, joking with Gu Huaiye for the first time.

“Try being f*cked by me; you’d probably sleep for days.”

Gu Huaiye retorted disdainfully, “What a pity, Laozi is an Alpha. You don’t have that chance.”

Regret showed in Xie Miaohan’s eyes. He took a drag of the cigarette and sighed, “Yeah, no chance.”
