Chapter 31: Hoping This Isn’t a Dream
The Omega receiving Gu Huaiye was named Wen Zheliu, a junior student who had volunteered to help welcome the new students.
Wen Zheliu was enthusiastic and proactive; it only took an hour for him to guide Gu Huaiye through the enrollment procedures.
“It’s a good thing you came early. There should still be spots available in the two-person apartments right now,” Wen Zheliu said to Gu Huaiye with a smile. “If you had arrived a bit later, you might have had to settle for a four-person or eight-person dorm.”
“Are there no single rooms?” Gu Huaiye had been curious about this from the start. In his previous life, he had been too obsessed with Xie Miaohan’s beauty and had simply forgotten to ask.
Wen Zheliu smiled. “There are, but only one person has that privilege.”
“Huh? Who?”
“Xiang Wanxing,” Wen Zheliu whispered into Gu Huaiye’s ear, assuming that since he was new, he might not understand the situation here. “His grandfather is the founder of this school, and his father is the richest man. naturally, the school leadership has to give him the highest treatment.”
Gu Huaiye didn’t have a deep impression of this person. He only knew that he was the child of the richest man, but because he differentiated into an Omega, he lost his rights to the family inheritance and was driven here to District A.
Speaking of which, their Gu family was very wealthy, but that was limited to District A.
District B was where the chaebols and royals gathered; it was located in the very center of their country, involving both the political and business worlds.
The most interaction the Gu family ever had with District B was when he followed his father to attend a birthday banquet for a certain tycoon. They didn’t even have the qualifications to establish a company there; the admission ticket alone required having good relations with the royals.
Father Gu had previously told him to interact more with Xiang Wanxing, but this Omega was very mysterious and basically never appeared at school.
Presumably, he had just been temporarily banished to the “Cold Palace” and would return to the coveted District B once he graduated.
Gu Huaiye suddenly thought that if he didn’t disturb Xie Miaohan in this life…
Xie Miaohan was an SSS-tier Alpha. As long as he underwent the specialized training on the normal track and fought for a military rank in the army, he would likely be able to squeeze into District B.
Then they could completely sever the ill-fated connection from their previous life.
Seeing him stay silent, Wen Zheliu couldn’t help but call out to him.
Gu Huaiye snapped back to reality and looked at Wen Zheliu. “So now I just need to go to the Student Apartment Management Office to handle the check-in, right?”
“Right.” Wen Zheliu immediately walked ahead to continue leading the way. “Actually, a two-person room is pretty good too. As long as your roommate isn’t a weirdo, it’s no different from a single room.”
Gu Huaiye sighed. “I’m just afraid we won’t get along.”
In his previous life, he was assigned a roommate who weighed nearly 300 catties. The guy snored like an excavator. It was so loud that Gu Huaiye finally couldn’t stand it and applied to live off-campus.
Living off-campus was nice, but there were no decent houses near the school.
Gu Huaiye had found the closest apartment, but it still took more than half an hour to drive there.
If he had an 8 AM class or something, it was pure torture.
He prayed that this time it wouldn’t be the fatty from his previous life.
Wen Zheliu suddenly stopped. “You can also team up for a dorm room. do you know any freshman juniors?”
“Huh?” Gu Huaiye was surprised. “You can do that?”
Wen Zheliu’s eyes curved into a smile. “Of course you can. Rules are dead, people are alive. As long as it’s not too outrageous, the dorm supervisors are understanding.”
“What counts as outrageous?”
Wen Zheliu thought for a moment and answered with a blush, “For example, if you, an Alpha, insisted on living in the same room as an Omega. That would cause a big incident.”
If it was just that, then Gu Huaiye was relieved.
“Wait a moment, let me make a call.”
“Okay.”
Gu Huaiye took out his phone and immediately called Chen Zirui.
“What’s up, Brother Gu?”
“Have you reported to the school yet?”
“No, what’s the rush?”
“Get your ass over here right now. I want to apply to be in the same dorm room as you.”
Chen Zirui laughed out loud. “Just for that? spending a little money would fix it.”
Gu Huaiye rolled his eyes. No wonder Xie Miaohan always said birds of a feather flock together; they were both good-for-nothings with no ambition.
“Roll over here now. Don’t always think about spending money. If I can’t apply for a double room, just wait for a beating.”
Chen Zirui froze for two seconds, asking in disbelief, “Brother Gu, are you for real?”
Gu Huaiye didn’t answer and hung up directly, giving him plenty of urgency.
Wen Zheliu stared at Gu Huaiye in shock. He hadn’t expected this Alpha’s personality to be so rough.
A bit scary.
Gu Huaiye smiled at him apologetically. “Might have to waste a bit of your time.”
Wen Zheliu hurriedly shook his head. “Not at all.”
The “Male God” filter shattered. Wen Zheliu liked gentle Alphas, so he no longer had any presumptuous thoughts about Gu Huaiye.
Chen Zirui rushed to the Student Apartment Management Office in a hurry, clutching the doorframe and panting heavily.
“Hurry up, we’re just waiting for you.”
Chen Zirui: “…”
Even a cow gets to catch its breath when working. Brother Gu is truly a devil.
Fortunately, there were still spots left. The two were arranged into the same room in Building 21, which was fairly close to their teaching building.
“Thanks for your hard work. I can handle the rest myself,” Gu Huaiye said to Wen Zheliu. “I’ll treat you to a meal when I’m free.”
Wen Zheliu waved his hands quickly. “No need, this is what I should do. Then I’ll go get busy. Hope you have a happy time at school.”
“Okay.”
After watching Wen Zheliu leave, Gu Huaiye turned his head and looked at Chen Zirui, who was still panting.
“Your stamina is too poor, isn’t it? Are you really an S-class?”
Chen Zirui desperately held back the urge to roll his eyes, looking at Gu Huaiye with a fake smile.
“Do you know how far my house is from here?”
“It’s not like there are no cars.”
“I couldn’t exactly drive here; it would cause a safety accident.”
Gu Huaiye disagreed. “It’s not far from the school gate to here, just 2 kilometers. You’re too weak.”
Chen Zirui: “…”
Devil! Truly a devil!
Gu Huaiye stared at his best friend in front of him and suddenly felt a sense of survival after a catastrophe.
His dad and Little Uncle weren’t dead, and his family hadn’t gone bankrupt.
More importantly, he hadn’t fallen out with the Chen family yet. He didn’t need to avoid Chen Zirui and could openly go to his house to hang out.
Thinking of this, Gu Huaiye hugged Chen Zirui with excitement and sadness.
“It’s great, nothing has changed,” Gu Huaiye choked out. “I hope this isn’t a dream.”
Chen Zirui was stunned, not knowing what play he was acting out.
“Brother Gu, don’t tell me you’ve fallen in love with me.”
Gu Huaiye laughed out loud. After letting go of Chen Zirui, he kicked him in the butt.
“Keep dreaming. Laozi doesn’t like Alphas.”
Chen Zirui rubbed his butt and said grumpily, “Rein it in a bit. You’re so violent, I wouldn’t dare hand my brother over to you.”
Gu Huaiye remembered the engagement.
However, he didn’t plan to cancel the engagement this time.
In his previous life, he had suffered enough at Xie Miaohan’s hands. Trying to get along with Chen Xialin now wasn’t impossible.
Gu Huaiye curled his lips. He wanted to say something else, but out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly glimpsed a familiar figure.
Xie Miaohan was dragging a suitcase, accompanied by a stranger, presumably brought along to handle the accommodation.
The person beside him kept talking to him, but Xie Miaohan had no expression on his face. His gaze was fixed right here on Gu Huaiye, their eyes meeting.
