You Claimed You Didn’t Love Me, So Why Cry Now That I’m Engaged? Chapter 59

Chapter 59: His Lover

“Don’t come over, there are shards.”

Xie Miaohan pushed Gu Huaiye away and actually intended to pick up the glass shards with his hands.

Gu Huaiye watched with his temple throbbing, and he said angrily, “Stop worrying about that stuff. If you had a fever, why didn’t you say anything? Are you holding out just to gain sympathy?”

“I didn’t know I had a fever,” Xie Miaohan whispered. “I thought it was just a cold.”

Gu Huaiye wanted to say more, but he looked down and saw blood continuously pouring from Xie Miaohan’s wrist.

Once again, memories from his previous life overlapped.

In the previous life, he cut Xie Miaohan’s wrist. In this life, it was still him, and it was the left hand again.

Was there no way to avoid this, no matter what he did?

“Go lie down on the bed. I’ll call a doctor over.”

“No need to go to the troub—”

Gu Huaiye glared at him. Xie Miaohan swallowed his words and obediently went to lie down on the bed.

Gu Huaiye simply bandaged Xie Miaohan’s wound, then called Lu Zishi.

He remembered Lu Zishi had a doctor friend and hoped he could come over to help. He was willing to pay whatever the cost.

About half an hour later, Lu Zishi and the doctor arrived.

The doctor treated the wound on Xie Miaohan’s wrist, while Gu Huaiye and Lu Zishi waited in the living room.

“Don’t look at me like that.” Gu Huaiye frowned, upset. “I know I do outrageous things.”

Lu Zishi smiled faintly. “This is the Young Master’s private life. I have no right to question it, and you don’t need to explain to me. You naturally have your reasons. Don’t worry, I won’t tell the Master.”

Gu Huaiye knew Lu Zishi was trustworthy; otherwise, he wouldn’t have called him for help.

“The wound has been stitched up.” The doctor walked out of the bedroom and said to Gu Huaiye, “The patient currently has a fever of 38 degrees. I gave him an injection. Observe him tonight; if the temperature doesn’t come down, he’ll need to go to the hospital.”

“Thank you.” Gu Huaiye paused, then asked with difficulty, “Will his wrist scar?”

“The dermis was damaged, so scarring is inevitable. However, he can have scar removal surgery to make the scar appear lighter.”

Just lighter, not completely gone.

In his previous life, Gu Huaiye took Xie Miaohan for scar removal surgery several times, but it had little effect. In the end, he could only wear a watch or bracelet to cover it.

Come to think of it, ever since Xie Miaohan met him, he had often ended up on the operating table.

The first time was when he slept with Xie Miaohan; he didn’t know his own strength and injured him.

The second time was when he argued with Xie Miaohan and accidentally pushed him down the stairs.

The last time was the artificial gland surgery.

The artificial gland surgery almost cost Xie Miaohan his life, scaring Gu Huaiye so much that it left a shadow, and he never dared to mess with Xie Miaohan casually again.

Especially after Xie Miaohan became an Omega, his physical strength couldn’t compare to Gu Huaiye’s at all, so Gu Huaiye rarely fought with him.

“Young Master, we’re leaving first.” Lu Zishi picked up his jacket from the sofa. “Call me if anything happens.”

“Okay.” Gu Huaiye snapped back to reality. “Thank you for your hard work.”

After they left, Gu Huaiye returned to the bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed.

Xie Miaohan had fallen asleep. He seemed to be having a nightmare, his brows tightly furrowed.

Gu Huaiye reached out, wanting to smooth the wrinkles between Xie Miaohan’s brows.

Unfortunately, it was useless.

He sighed, his gaze landing on Xie Miaohan’s gauze-wrapped left wrist.

“Stop following me. We hurt each other enough in the last life.” Gu Huaiye gently stroked the gauze, speaking softly, “Go. Go to the place you should go.”

He knew Xie Miaohan couldn’t hear him, and he didn’t dare let Xie Miaohan hear.

Gu Huaiye looked after Xie Miaohan all night. Fortunately, the fever broke, and at six in the morning, Xie Miaohan finally woke up.

“Feeling better?” Gu Huaiye stood up. “Want some water?”

Xie Miaohan nodded.

Gu Huaiye immediately went to the living room to pour water and brought the cup to Xie Miaohan.

Xie Miaohan took the cup and drank it all in one breath.

“Want more?”

“No need, thank you.” Xie Miaohan looked apologetic. “I caused you trouble.”

Gu Huaiye sneered. “So you know it’s trouble. Since you didn’t feel well, why didn’t you go to the hospital? Were you only going to be happy when it got serious?”

“You didn’t come home, and didn’t reply to my messages. I was worried about you.”

Hearing this, Gu Huaiye felt a bit guilty, and his tone wasn’t as harsh.

“Alright, rest well.” Gu Huaiye picked up his phone from the coffee table. “I’m leaving.”

“Where are you going?” Xie Miaohan asked hurriedly.

“It’s almost New Year’s. I’m going back to the villa.”

Xie Miaohan pursed his lips and remained silent.

Gu Huaiye went back to the walk-in closet to pack his luggage.

With what happened yesterday, he wasn’t in the mood to write the product report. Fortunately, what he had written before wasn’t terrible, and he managed to secure the deal without mishap.

But he still had to meet his Little Uncle and apologize.

Luggage packed, Gu Huaiye didn’t look at the person in the bedroom and walked straight to the entryway.

As he opened the door, Xie Miaohan suddenly hugged him.

“Can you not leave?” Xie Miaohan’s voice was hoarse. “I’m all alone. I don’t want to be alone.”

Gu Huaiye gritted his teeth and hardened his heart to pull Xie Miaohan’s hands away.

He turned around and realized Xie Miaohan had walked so hurriedly that he forgot to wear slippers.

Gu Huaiye looked away to avoid softening his heart.

“You won’t be alone.”

Xie Miaohan curved the corners of his mouth. Just as he was about to say something, he heard Gu Huaiye say, “Go date someone. Find a suitable Omega.”

“What?” Xie Miaohan’s voice trembled. “You don’t want to continue?”

“Yes.” Gu Huaiye nodded. “The financial support I mentioned is still valid, and I won’t restrict you from dating. We only have a contractual relationship. Once you go to the army, the contract ends.”

It was all his fault.

Those ten years gave him not only hatred but also reluctance to let go.

This led to him still being entangled with Xie Miaohan.

Now he had to force himself to walk away. Even if Xie Miaohan truly wanted to degenerate and seek Xiang Wanxing as a sugar daddy, he couldn’t waiver.

This was Xie Miaohan’s fate in this life; he couldn’t interfere.

He also had his own fiancé.

It was time to take responsibility.

“I said I won’t go to the army. I want to stay here and be your lover.”

At this point, Gu Huaiye couldn’t even get angry hearing such words.

“I won’t make my fiancé sad, so don’t hope that I’ll continue keeping you.”

“Do you have to marry him?” The corners of Xie Miaohan’s eyes were red, perhaps due to his illness. “Can’t you reconsider?”

Gu Huaiye took a deep breath and stared at Xie Miaohan coldly.

“Can you bear children for me?”

Xie Miaohan’s face turned deathly pale, and he shook his head.

Even if he had surgery to become an artificial Omega, he couldn’t give Gu Huaiye children.

“Since you can’t give birth, and you can’t bring me any benefits, why should I be with you?”

Gu Huaiye pulled his suitcase and left without looking back.

Xie Miaohan slowly squatted down, clutching his chest.

His lover.

Really knew how to hurt him.

Whether in the previous life or this one.

He never cared about him.
