Chapter 59: His Lover

“Don’t come over, there are shards.”

Xie Miaohan pushed Gu Huaiye away and actually intended to pick up the glass shards with his hands.

Gu Huaiye watched with his temple throbbing, and he said angrily, “Stop worrying about that stuff. If you had a fever, why didn’t you say anything? Are you holding out just to gain sympathy?”

“I didn’t know I had a fever,” Xie Miaohan whispered. “I thought it was just a cold.”

Gu Huaiye wanted to say more, but he looked down and saw blood continuously pouring from Xie Miaohan’s wrist.

Xie Miaohan had fallen asleep. He seemed to be having a nightmare, his brows tightly furrowed.

Gu Huaiye reached out, wanting to smooth the wrinkles between Xie Miaohan’s brows.

He sighed, his gaze landing on Xie Miaohan’s gauze-wrapped left wrist.

“Stop following me. We hurt each other enough in the last life.” Gu Huaiye gently stroked the gauze, speaking softly, “Go. Go to the place you should go.”

He knew Xie Miaohan couldn’t hear him, and he didn’t dare let Xie Miaohan hear.

Gu Huaiye looked after Xie Miaohan all night. Fortunately, the fever broke, and at six in the morning, Xie Miaohan finally woke up.

“Feeling better?” Gu Huaiye stood up. “Want some water?”

Xie Miaohan nodded.

Gu Huaiye immediately went to the living room to pour water and brought the cup to Xie Miaohan.

Xie Miaohan took the cup and drank it all in one breath.

“Want more?”

“No need, thank you.” Xie Miaohan looked apologetic. “I caused you trouble.”

Gu Huaiye sneered. “So you know it’s trouble. Since you didn’t feel well, why didn’t you go to the hospital? Were you only going to be happy when it got serious?”

“You didn’t come home, and didn’t reply to my messages. I was worried about you.”

He turned around and realized Xie Miaohan had walked so hurriedly that he forgot to wear slippers.

Gu Huaiye looked away to avoid softening his heart.

“You won’t be alone.”

Xie Miaohan curved the corners of his mouth. Just as he was about to say something, he heard Gu Huaiye say, “Go date someone. Find a suitable Omega.”

“What?” Xie Miaohan’s voice trembled. “You don’t want to continue?”

“Yes.” Gu Huaiye nodded. “The financial support I mentioned is still valid, and I won’t restrict you from dating. We only have a contractual relationship. Once you go to the army, the contract ends.”
