Chapter 71: Not Arguing with a Madman

Two distinct pheromones lingered in the bedroom.

The scent of mint wrapped around the cedar, aggressive and domineering, testing it bit by bit before forcibly merging with it.

Gu Huaiye felt suffocated by the oppressing pheromones. His body went limp, and cold sweat broke out on his forehead.

When Xie Miaohan bit down on the back of his neck for the umpteenth time, Gu Huaiye finally snapped. He rolled over and kicked Xie Miaohan squarely in the stomach.

“Are you a fucking dog? How many times are you going to bite me? I am an Alpha; you can’t mark me at all.”

He thought this would make Xie Miaohan stop, but a second later, Xie Miaohan hugged him again, pressing his lips against the bite-riddled nape of his neck.

“Why can’t you just keep my pheromones? Why can’t I mark you?”

Gu Huaiye rolled his eyes.

Why?

Because Alphas repel each other.

Is such a simple concept that hard to understand?

“Just give me an inhibitor.” Gu Huaiye was exhausted, and his body felt terrible. “You can’t mark me. Doing this only makes it harder for both of us.”

After he spoke, Xie Miaohan went silent.

Gu Huaiye frowned, intending to turn around and look at him. But the arms around his waist were wound so tight they didn’t give him a chance to move.

“Xie Miaohan, you…”

A cold drop of water landed on his shoulder.

Xie Miaohan was crying.

Gu Huaiye almost laughed out of sheer exasperation.

His ass was the one in pain, so if anyone should be crying, it was him, okay?

“Huaiye, don’t you miss me at all?”

Gu Huaiye pondered for a moment before sighing. “If I had known you would be this obsessed, I shouldn’t have permanently marked you back then and let you develop these mistaken feelings.”

“Do you really think it’s just the permanent mark?”

“What else?” Gu Huaiye lowered his eyes, his voice muffled. “In the ten years we were married, aside from fighting physically, we were fighting verbally. I wasn’t good to you at all, so it was only right that you gave me the silent treatment. I held a grudge when you ruined my company, but after being reborn, I let it go.”

“I’m treating you well now. I won’t give you the silent treatment… Is that not enough?”

Gu Huaiye shook his head. “It’s too late.”

Xie Miaohan fell into silence once more.

Seeing that he had calmed down a lot, Gu Huaiye planned to say a bit more to convince Xie Miaohan to let him go.

But the next second, Xie Miaohan flipped over, pinning him underneath him once again.

“Wait…” Gu Huaiye looked panicked. “I can’t. I really can’t anymore.”

If this continued, he wouldn’t be able to get out of bed.

But Xie Miaohan had no intention of letting him go. He lowered his head and kissed his lips, stopping his words of refusal.

Gu Huaiye made muffled sounds, intending to knee Xie Miaohan.

But before he could lift his leg, Xie Miaohan’s tears dripped onto his eyelids, blurring his vision.

Gu Huaiye’s movements paused, and he lowered his leg.

Forget it. He wouldn’t argue with a madman.

Outside the villa, Chen Zirui was thrown out by Xie Miaohan’s subordinates yet again.

He landed on his butt, grimacing in pain.

He stood up, rubbing his rear while shouting curses.

“Fuck your ancestors! So what if he’s a Commander? Does that mean he can ignore the law? I’m going to the TV station to expose all your dirty laundry right now. Just you wait!”

Chen Zirui took out his phone from his pocket. Just as he was about to make a call, an amused voice rang out from behind him.

“Yo, isn’t this the little shorty?”

Chen Zirui froze. He turned around and saw Xiang Wanxing inside a Maybach.

“Why are you so dirty?” Xiang Wanxing took off his sunglasses, looking Chen Zirui up and down with interest. “Is life that miserable after leaving the army?”

“Piss off.” Chen Zirui waved his hand irritably. “I get angry just looking at you. I’m not in the mood to mess with you.”

Xiang Wanxing didn’t leave tactfully. Instead, he rested his arm on the car window and leaned his head out.

“Do you want to save your brother?”

Chen Zirui’s expression shifted slightly, and he suddenly looked up at Xiang Wanxing.

That’s right.

Xiang Wanxing’s aunt was a member of the royal family, and he was also the son of the richest man. He should be able to help stop Xie Miaohan’s insane behavior.

Chen Zirui’s attitude did a one-eighty. Wearing a flattering smile, he rubbed his hands together and ran over to the car window.

“My brain just cramped up earlier; I was raging impotently and acting crazy. Please don’t take it to heart.”

Xiang Wanxing raised an eyebrow. “Hmm? And?”

Chen Zirui’s smile deepened as he bent at the waist. “Could you do me a favor and rescue my brother? Of course, if you could save my best buddy while you’re at it, that would be even better.”

Xiang Wanxing eyed him with an obscure gaze.

“Turn around, keep that posture.”

Chen Zirui didn’t understand why, but he did as he was told.

“That ass really is perky.” Xiang Wanxing chuckled and teased, “Are you actually an Omega in disguise?”

Chen Zirui: “…”

“Fuck! I knew you were up to no good!” Chen Zirui immediately straightened up. “You’re in cahoots with Xie Miaohan, aren’t you? Neither of you are good birds.”

“Stop swearing so much. It’s a miracle you weren’t beaten to death in the army.”

Chen Zirui disagreed. “Who would dare hit me? I’m the Young Master of the Chen family.”

“Your Chen family isn’t worth mentioning in District B.”

Chen Zirui: “…”

“Forget it, I’m too lazy to argue with you. Get lost, stop bothering me.”

Xiang Wanxing hooked his finger at him. “Kiss my cheek, and I’ll help you rescue your brother.”

Chen Zirui’s expression turned weird.

He really hadn’t misjudged him.

This Omega was truly improper.

“You don’t want to?” Xiang Wanxing threatened. “Then I’m leaving.”

“I’ll kiss, I’ll kiss.”

Chen Zirui took a deep breath, looking like he was marching to his death, and leaned in.

The smile on Xiang Wanxing’s face vanished, and his eyes turned dark and vicious.

“I really hate it when people use those kinds of words to describe me.”

Chen Zirui was frightened by his gaze and couldn’t help swallowing his saliva.

After a long standoff, the hostility on Xiang Wanxing’s face faded, and he returned to his languid expression.

“Forget it. You’re a shorty; I won’t hold it against you.”

Xiang Wanxing put his sunglasses back on and lifted his chin to signal the driver to go.

“Go find a hotel to stay in first. You look no different from a homeless person right now.”

When Xiang Wanxing’s car had driven a bit further away, Chen Zirui cowardly raised his middle finger.

Damn it.

There isn’t a single normal person in District B.

He had to get Brother Gu and Chen Xialin out of here quickly.

He was never coming back.
