Chapter 85: He Will Never Be Okay Again

When Xie Miaohan returned, Gu Huaiye was just coming out of the banquet hall. Both paused, their eyes meeting.

“You’re going out?” Xie Miaohan asked first.

Gu Huaiye had noticed Xie Miaohan was missing a few minutes ago and thought to go look for him. Seeing that the person had already returned, he relaxed.

“Mhm, I’m going out for a smoke.”

Gu Huaiye took a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, pursed his lips around one, and walked past Xie Miaohan toward the exit.

Xie Miaohan turned to look at Gu Huaiye’s retreating back. In that instant, he thought of the backs of his parents in his dream.
