Chapter 111: Just Tools
Chi Wan returned to her residence with a heavy heart.
See his goodness?
Her time here felt like a countdown.
She was considering the endgame for everything she did; every day, she felt as though several giant blades were chasing her from behind.
In a month, or perhaps even soonerâwhether she would be dead or alive, or in what state she would find herselfâeven she wasn’t sure.
Her basic life and safety were still in question; how could she have the mind to consider love?
As soon as she got home, Chi Wan asked Dudu:
“Dudu, would you be willing to go to an unknown place with me?”
Dudu barely hesitated:
“Dudu wants to go anywhere Chi Wan-jie is!”
“As long as it’s with Chi Wan-jie, it’s okay!”
Chi Wan felt a warmth in her heart. She immediately began researching the Federationâs robot purchase regulations and interstellar policies regarding robots.
The next day.
The Alliance launched its third large-scale operation.
Naturally, Chi Wan had to participate.
Firstly, it was her duty; secondly, she wanted to use her contribution points to buy as much energy concentrate and other supplies as possible before she left.
The more, the better.
Despite being mentally prepared, she still felt a bit awkward when she saw the teams from the seven bases at the Alliance Square.
The Inspection Captain came over as usual to ask which base she would be joining.
Chi Wan: “Iâll be my own team. Iâve already contacted the Personnel Department to assign people to me.”
“Guide Chi Wan should come with N9 Base!”
Shen Yu was the first to run over.
“No need.”
Chi Wanâs refusal was swift.
“Why? Weâre a designated Shao-Xiang pair, aren’t we?”
His clear voice was filled with confusion. “Since binding as a designated pair, we haven’t acted alone once. You haven’t even comforted me.”
By the end, his tone was purely aggrieved. She could feel the irritable aura of his White Tiger mental entity even from a meter away.
Chi Wan turned to look at him and immediately saw Qi Ye walking toward them from behind him.
She pursed her lips and raised her voice slightly, her tone resolute:
“Iâm not following any base.”
Cang Lin looked toward Chi Wanâs location. Shi Ye also walked over. Currently, three men were standing directly in front of her.
Shen Yu, Qi Ye, and Shi Ye.
Three tall Commanders surrounded her like three wolves circling a small white rabbit.
Yun Qi also looked toward them from his own team.
In a rare move, Pei Yuan even cast a glance toward the rear.
“The Commanders are all fighting over Guide Chi Wan again.”
“Who wouldn’t want to be with her now? She’s a top-tier Guide and her combat ability is strong too.”
“So, who do you think she’ll go with?”
“How should I know? It won’t be our base anyway. Didn’t our Commander say before that heâd never cooperate with her?”
Amidst the Shaobingâs gossiping, Li Suâs attention was finally drawn. He looked back and realized the scene at Chi Wanâs side was quite spectacular.
This wasn’t the first time such a situation had occurred. Their changes toward her were too obvious; it was hard for him not to notice.
However, Li Su didn’t care much. He indifferently withdrew his brown eyes.
Office romances, to an extent, affected work efficiency. He only hoped these colleagues wouldn’t lose their combat standards because of it.
The three men before her blocked her path, all radiating high irritability from their mental entities. The savage, restless auras of the tiger, wolf, and snake mingled with their intense desire for her, making her even more uncomfortable.
Chi Wan lowered her head and listened in silence to Shen Yuâs hurt voice: “Then tell me, what exactly does a designated Shaobing mean to you?”
Seeing that Chi Wan didn’t speak, Shi Ye, who was quietly watching her, asked: “Why is Guide Chi Wan avoiding us?”
Before the vacation, although she was passive, she hadn’t been this intentionally distant.
“What are you all doing?”
Cang Linâs deep, magnetic voice pressed down on them.
He hadn’t intended to participate, but seeing Chi Wan lowering her head in silence, it looked as though she was being bullied.
Shen Yu: “Asking for an explanation.”
With so many eyes on her, Chi Wan decided to lay her cards on the table.
She looked up and spoke the truth: “To me, a designated Shaobing is just a tool to provide contribution points.”
Qi Yeâs brows lowered slightly, his green eyes dark and heavy:
“Just a tool?”
Chi Wan gritted her teeth. She knew saying this was incredibly selfish. At the moment she signed with them, she had intended to fulfill her duties as a designated Guide normally.
But things were different now. The next time they met, they would be on opposite sides. She was only considering herself now.
She wanted to live.
“Yes.”
After speaking, she opened her Guangnao:
“I’m sorry. If you can’t accept it, I can dissolve the bond right now.”
Her fair fingers tapped rapidly, only to be firmly caught by a large hand.
Qi Ye let out a sigh of compromise. “I accept.”
The warm touch felt like an electric shock to Chi Wan. She quickly pulled her hand away and lowered her head to avoid their gaze, her words coming out fast:
“Then if any of you want to dissolve it, find me at any time.”
At least before she left, she wanted to leech as many contribution points as possible.
Once she finished speaking, she didn’t look at their expressions again. she bypassed them and walked away.
Cang Lin suddenly spoke up:
“Since Guide Chi Wan needs contribution points so much and is so clear-headed and rational, why not bind with me too? Do you want free contribution points?”
