Chapter 104: Why Would You Marry Him?
“I’m sorry,” Shao Chen said.
Ye Zhile also knew that Shao Chen’s mother was in Shao Mingjue’s hands. Once betrayed by Shao Chen, Shao Mingjue would not let his mother go. Ye Zhile could only turn back and ask Shen Tingyuan, “How are you feeling?”
“Alright…” Shen Tingyuan was too afraid of Shao Chen. She remembered it was this person who extracted her pheromones; she could never forget that pain.
“Once you enter this place, you can’t leave.” Shao Chen reminded them, “You’d better wait for them to come.”
Shen Tingyuan looked at Ye Zhile in confusion, wondering why Shao Chen would say such a thing. Wasn’t he one of the people behind the pheromone gene modification?
Ye Zhile didn’t know how to explain Shao Chen’s situation to her, so he could only say, “We might have to wait a bit. They should find this place soon.”
Hearing this, Shen Tingyuan didn’t feel comforted but rather more despairing. The Inspection Department hadn’t found a clue in all those years; who could find this place? By the time they did, their bones would likely be dust.
“Why are you here?” Shen Tingyuan asked Ye Zhile. Ye Zhile looked at Shao Chen. “I was kidnapped by him.”
Shao Chen walked out. “You only have a few minutes.”
Hearing that Ye Zhile was about to leave, Shen Tingyuan immediately grabbed his hand. Her delicate face was full of terror. “I don’t want to stay here. Can you let me leave this small room? I’m about to suffocate…”
Shen Tingyuan had been waking up intermittently these last few days. This place was airtight; she sometimes felt she couldn’t breathe. Besides the boundless fear, there was a sense of suffocation.
“I…” Ye Zhile looked at Shao Chen. “Where am I going?”
“He prepared a separate room for you,” Shao Chen said.
“Then can I bring my friend with me?” Ye Zhile asked. Beside him, Shen Tingyuan nodded repeatedly. When Shao Chen glanced at her, she shrank back in fear.
After a moment of hesitation, Shao Chen nodded.
Ye Zhile happily helped Shen Tingyuan up. “Let’s go.”
Shao Chen took them to a room. All along the way, airtight bodyguards were on watch. The room was decorated in a retro and magnificent style, a completely different style from the cabin with its heavy mechanical feel. A short while later, someone was sent to bring food.
There were no windows in the room, so Ye Zhile had no idea what time it was, but he was indeed incredibly hungry. He didn’t care about anything else, sat down, and began to eat.
“You… aren’t you afraid?” Shen Tingyuan asked pointedly. What if they had poisoned the food?
Ye Zhile didn’t care. “If he wanted me dead, he wouldn’t have kept me until now. Aren’t you hungry?”
Hearing this, Shen Tingyuan swallowed her saliva and also sat down to eat.
Shao Chen watched them eat from the side. Ye Zhile looked up. “What exactly does your father want by kidnapping me?”
“He wants your Papa to come see him,” Shao Chen said.
“Then he’s overthinking it. He’ll only get my Father’s artillery shells!” Ye Zhile said bluntly. “What exactly is he obsessed with? My Papa is already married with children, and thirty years have passed. He still can’t let go?”
“God knows what he’s obsessed with.” Shao Chen’s tone held disdain, and his gaze carried curiosity. “You’ve been in a relationship; don’t you understand what he’s thinking?”
Ye Zhile looked up blankly and shook his head. “I haven’t been in a relationship; I got married directly. Besides, neither Ji Shuohan nor I had a first love, so how could I understand?”
“……” Shao Chen was speechless and said no more.
As Ye Zhile ate, he suddenly asked, “Could you lend me a phone to make a call? I’m afraid my family is worried.”
“I don’t have a phone.” Shao Chen sighed. “I’ll steal one for you.”
With that, Shao Chen vanished.
Ye Zhile looked at the spot where he had disappeared, thinking that this guy was actually quite good.
“You really have a big heart, to be so optimistic here.” At first glance, Shen Tingyuan had thought the Leader’s Spouse was the kind of obedient and submissive type who would let anyone slaughter him. Now it seemed he was completely different from what she had thought.
Ye Zhile paused for a moment. “Not really, but even if I were crying, he wouldn’t let me out, and my family would be worried.”
Furthermore, he was safe for the time being. Shao Mingjue wanted to use him to see his Papa, so he wouldn’t touch him for now. He would wait until his Father arrived and then plan everything. Besides, he had Ji Shuohan’s pheromone extraction fluid with him, and Ji Shuohan was an Enigma; he should be able to find this place soon.
Hearing that he hadn’t mentioned the Supreme Leader at all, Shen Tingyuan asked, “How are things between you and Brother Shuohan now?”
“What do you want to ask?” Ye Zhile looked up while eating. Shen Tingyuan asked, “Are you two really divorced?”
Ye Zhile nodded. Shen Tingyuan seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. She looked at Ye Zhile expectantly. “Then can I marry Brother Shuohan?”
“Huh?” Ye Zhile was stunned. Was she asking for his opinion? “He doesn’t even like you. Why would you marry him?”
“But I like him,” Shen Tingyuan said bashfully.
Ye Zhile was no longer in the mood to eat. “That’s his business. You shouldn’t ask me.”
Shao Chen successfully stole a phone and gave it to Ye Zhile, who looked at him gratefully. “Thank you!”
Ye Zhile hurriedly dialed Wen Yumiao’s number. The moment the call connected and Ye Zhile spoke, Wen Yumiao was incredibly excited. “Lele? How are you? Where are you now?”
“Papa, don’t worry. I’m fine now, but I don’t know where I am; I can’t see outside from here.” Ye Zhile made it brief. “In short, I’m safe for now. Don’t worry too much.”
“Okay, don’t be afraid either. Your Father and the Leader have already found the approximate location; we’ll be there soon,” Wen Yumiao comforted him.
Ye Zhile hadn’t expected his Father and Ji Shuohan to move so quickly. It must be because of that vial of pheromone fluid.
Ye Zhile hung up the phone. At that moment, there was a sound outside the door. Shao Chen’s expression tightened. “Oh no.”
With a bang, before the door opened, Ye Zhile quickly threw the phone under the bed. Shao Mingjue looked at the three people in the room and gave Shao Chen a backhanded slap. Shao Chen remained silent, letting him hit him.
But Ye Zhile was filled with guilt. He was the one who had begged Shao Chen for help, and now the man was being hit. Seeing Shao Mingjue about to hit him again, Ye Zhile shouted, “Stop!”
Ye Zhile stood in front of Shao Chen. “Didn’t you tell me to get along with him? Then it’s only right he help me. Why are you hitting him?”
Shao Mingjue gave a cold laugh. “A useless thing, modified to have no human touch at all. He can’t even handle one Omega; it would be bad luck even if he died.”
Shao Mingjue gave Shao Chen a fierce glare.
“It’s because he has a father like you that it’s bad luck!” Ye Zhile retorted huffily.
Shao Mingjue glanced at him and ordered his subordinates, “Separate the three of them and lock them up.”
