I Became a Heartthrob After Transmigrating into an ABO World chapter 216

Chapter 216

Shen Shuyu slept straight through until past noon. When he went downstairs, the kitchen had already finished preparing lunch, so he was able to eat immediately.

He finished his lunch quickly and said to the house servant, “I’m going out. No need to prepare dinner for me tonight.”

The servant acknowledged him.

Shen Shuyu dressed properly and went back to his room to grab the gifts he had bought. He didn’t have much to do this afternoon, so he planned to deliver the gifts to Yue Cheng and Wen Yue.

The hospital was quite close. Shen Shuyu made his way to Yue Cheng’s office with ease. He knocked on the door, but no one answered. With some confusion, he pushed the door open to find Yue Cheng wasn’t in the office.

Strange, where is Yue Cheng?

Shen Shuyu stopped a passing doctor and asked, “Excuse me, is Doctor Yue not on duty today?”

The doctor replied, “He was here just a moment ago. He’s probably out for rounds or went to eat.”

Shen Shuyu thanked him, went inside, and sat on the sofa to wait for a while. However, Yue Cheng still didn’t return. He checked the watch on his wrist; it was getting late, and he still had to visit Wen Yue.

After a moment’s thought, he placed the gift for Yue Cheng on the desk and headed out with the gift for Wen Yue. Just as he reached the door, a commotion broke out in the corridor. Before he could even look, someone roared: “Get out of the way! Out of the way!!!!”

Screams about calling the police and “Doctor Yue” were mixed in. Shen Shuyu’s ears rang as he hurriedly opened the door. He saw a group of people pushing an emergency bed past him at high speed. Lying on that bed, covered in blood and drenched in sweat, was Yue Cheng.

Shen Shuyu was stunned. Only as they were about to enter the elevator did he snap back to his senses. He grabbed a female nurse who looked like she was about to cry and asked, “What happened? What on earth is going on?”

The nurse recognized Shen Shuyu and knew he was a friend of Yue Cheng. She sobbed, “A patient’s family member got too agitated just now and injured Doctor Yue.”

No more needed to be said; Shen Shuyu understood. He asked, “Which floor is the emergency room?”

“The second floor. They went to the second floor.”

Upon receiving the answer, Shen Shuyu bolted for the stairs, taking out his terminal to place a call as he ran.

The Shen Group’s annual gala.

Shen Yisi was holding a wine glass and discussing plans for next year with several executives. This year had been a fruitful one for the Shen family, and Shen Yisi’s business empire was continuously expanding.

He was saying, “Next year’s focus, besides stabilizing our existing holdings, will involve penetrating industries on other planets, especially those more remote—”

Before he could finish, an assistant rushed over and whispered a sentence into his ear.

Shen Yisi’s expression changed slightly. He shoved his glass into the assistant’s hand and said to the executives, “I have an emergency. Please excuse me.”

Having finished, he strode toward the exit of the gala, his face clouding with anxiety.

Father and Mother Shen were chatting with veteran employees. Seeing Shen Yisi marching out, Mother Shen asked in confusion, “Where is Yisi going?”

Father Shen replied, “He probably has something to take care of.”

Mother Shen nodded and withdrew her gaze. From childhood, their eldest son, Shen Yisi, had always been someone they could rely on.

By the time Shen Yisi arrived at the hospital, Shen Shuyu had already been waiting outside the operating room for quite a while.

Seeing him arrive, Shen Shuyu hurriedly stood up. “Ge.”

Shen Yisi looked at him and fired off a string of questions: “What happened? How long has he been in? Is he okay? What do the doctors say?”

Shen Shuyu replied, “He’s still being resuscitated. I heard some people were arguing and Yue Cheng-ge went to intervene, only to be accidentally stabbed in the abdomen. His current condition is unknown; we’re still waiting.”

Shen Yisi’s brows furrowed. “Where is the person who did it?”

Shen Shuyu said, “They’ve already been taken away by the police.”

Shen Yisi took a deep breath and calmed himself. He pulled out his terminal and, without hiding, dialed the police station directly. He got straight to the point: “This is Shen Yisi, Yue Cheng’s family member. I’m inquiring about the person involved in the medical disturbance. Yes, good. I will come in person once he is out. Until then, I do not want a single person to leave your station.”

After hearing something from the other end, Shen Yisi hung up with a grim face. Anyone with eyes could see that his anger had reached a boiling point.

Aside from the time Shuyu had been kidnapped by Black Robe, this was only the second time Shen Shuyu had seen Shen Yisi this anxious.

Shen Shuyu said, “Ge, don’t worry. Yue Cheng-ge will definitely be fine.”

Shen Yisi took a deep breath, gave an “Mn,” and sat down on the bench.

The two brothers sat in silence, waiting for the doors of the operating room to open.

After an unknown amount of time, the lights of the operating room finally went out.

Shen Yisi stood up immediately and walked over as the doctors and nurses emerged.

Shen Yisi asked, “How is he?”

The doctor naturally recognized Shen Yisi. He said, “Doctor Yue is currently under anesthesia and remains unconscious. We performed emergency treatment, and fortunately, no organs were hit. There shouldn’t be any major issues. He has been moved to the ICU for observation. Once he wakes up and we observe him further, he can be moved to a regular ward.”

The weight in Shen Shuyu’s heart lifted. He looked at Shen Yisi, whose tense body also relaxed slightly the moment the doctor finished speaking.

He asked, “Can I go in to see him?”

The doctor nodded. “Once he wakes up, you can go in, but only one person at a time.”

“Thank you, Doctor.” Shen Yisi regained his usual calm and noble bearing.

“It’s what should be done.” The doctor actually felt relieved as well. He walked toward the elevator, leaving the two Shen brothers alone outside the operating room.

Shen Shuyu patted Shen Yisi’s shoulder. “It’s okay now, Ge. No need to worry.”

Shen Yisi nodded. “Mn.”

Shen Shuyu said, “By the way, Ge, do you know Yue Cheng-ge’s partner? With something this big happening, we should probably call them over, right?”

Shen Yisi’s brows knitted slightly as he looked at Shen Shuyu. “What?”

Shen Shuyu was stunned. “You didn’t know?”

Shen Yisi stared at him. Shen Shuyu said, “Before we went to Siro, didn’t Mom and Dad schedule a check-up? When I came by that day, I accidentally saw that Yue Cheng-ge’s gland had been bitten. Although he said a dog bit it, who would believe that?”

He spoke as he followed Shen Yisi toward the ICU, not noticing that Shen Yisi’s expression was a bit strange.

Shen Shuyu said, “I thought Yue Cheng-ge just didn’t want to tell me. I didn’t expect you wouldn’t know either.”

Unknowingly, they arrived at the ICU entrance. They sat on the public bench, and only then did Shen Yisi speak: “What is that you’re carrying?”

He didn’t directly answer Shen Shuyu’s question. Shen Shuyu looked down. “Gifts I brought back. I came today specifically to give them to Yue Cheng-ge, but I didn’t get to see him before hearing he had an accident. However, I’ve already left his portion in his office.”

Then the portion in his hand must be for someone else.

Shen Yisi guessed who it was—it must be that classmate named Wen Jiafei.

Shen Shuyu was very close to him.

Shen Yisi had been swamped with work lately. He had finally finished the annual gala and was looking forward to a proper rest when Yue Cheng’s accident happened, leaving his mind in chaos.

He said, “I’ll watch over him here. It’s cold out; go home once you’ve delivered your gift.”

Shen Shuyu gave an “Oh.” There was indeed no point in him staying here. Once Yue Cheng woke up, only one person could enter, and that would definitely be his brother.

He looked down at the gift in his hand and said, “Then I’ll come back later. Call me if anything happens.”

Shen Yisi nodded. “Safe travels.”

He also needed some time alone to calm down and organize his thoughts.

Shen Shuyu watched him for a while before finally leaving with his things.

Shen Yisi sat alone at the door. The corridor was quiet, with only medical staff passing through. Shen Yisi rested the back of his head against the porcelain wall, his legs crossed and eyes closed. He appeared to be napping, but the fingers of the hand resting on his leg were lightly tapping rhythmically.

He was contemplating something.
