Chapter 93: Get Out
Wen Yuhuai’s car was eventually forced to a halt.
Pinched from both the front and the rear, he wasn’t just being pursued from behind; several cars had appeared ahead of him at some unknown point to intercept his path, positioning themselves horizontally across the road to block it entirely.
Unable to brake in time, the front of his car slammed heavily into the side of one of the vehicles. Fortunately, his car was sturdy enough that neither side sustained major injuries.
Wen Yuhuai slumped over the steering wheel and exhaled a deep breath of frustration, his knuckles white as he gripped the wheel with intense force.
Someone stepped out from the opposite car to check the damage but didn’t approach. Instead, they pulled out a phone and made a call.
Wen Yuhuai knew exactly who they were calling. He reached for his own phone, only to discover it had run out of battery and shut down automatically.
Since he was already trapped here, there seemed little point in turning it back on. Wen Yuhuai tossed the phone onto the passenger seat, pressed the center console to lock all the doors and windows, and sat in the car waiting silently.
Before long, the piercing screech of brakes echoed in his ears. With a faint expression, Wen Yuhuai tilted his head to look and saw Fu Xingjian stepping out of a car and walking toward him.
Fu Xingjian stood quietly in front of the dented hood of the car and offered a smile, his lips moving as he said something.
Because the car windows were soundproof, Wen Yuhuai couldn’t hear him, but he could read his lips.
He was saying, “Get out”.
Fu Xingjian didn’t seem to be in a rush when no response came. He tapped the car body lightly with his finger and moved unhurriedly from the front of the car to the driver’s side window, looking down at him from a superior height.
“Get out”.
This time, the command was clear. Yet, Wen Yuhuai still had no intention of complying; instead, he closed his eyes and leaned back against the leather seat, looking for all the world as if he were resting.
Fu Xingjian stood outside and let out a soft laugh, his head tilting slightly. “Still not coming out? Are you trying to give me a reason to use force?”
His voice was gentle and low, as if they were merely having a discussion. “You know, I stayed in there for so long. It wasn’t easy to get out, and it wasn’t easy to see you again. My emotions are a bit too excited, and I’m not sure when I might lose control. Come out while I can still barely restrain myself, otherwise, I’m afraid you won’t be able to take what comes next”.
Wen Yuhuai opened his eyes, looked at him, and curled his lips into a cold sneer.
Fu Xingjian rested one hand on the car while the other reached up to press his temple, continuing to smile at him. “A-Yu, I really love this look of yours. I hope you can maintain it when I’m pressing you beneath me later”.
Wen Yuhuai’s expression finally changed.
Before they had fallen out, he only felt that this man was excessively calm and composed, handling everything with ease as if nothing could rattle him.
But as the mask on his face was peeled away layer by layer, his true essence gradually revealed itself. As calm as he appeared on the outside, he was equally insane on the inside. He was truly someone who followed through on his words.
Wen Yuhuai’s finger finally pressed the center console, but he opened the passenger side door. He then rolled from the driver’s seat to the passenger side and pushed the door open to step out.
The men from the surrounding cars immediately stepped out to surround him, as if they were terrified he would run away.
Fu Xingjian slowly straightened his back and looked at Wen Yuhuai across the car. His eyes were fixed on Wen Yuhuai, but his words were directed at the assistant beside him. “Is the private jet ready?”
Despite the cold weather, a bit of sweat broke out on the assistant’s forehead. “President Fu, news just came in… our application didn’t… didn’t pass”.
Fu Xingjian finally glanced sideways at him. “Didn’t pass?”
The assistant panicked even more and took his phone to the side. “I’ll try applying again. Please wait a moment, President Fu”.
Since he already had the person in his hands, Fu Xingjian wasn’t in that much of a rush. He let the assistant busy himself while he stepped forward unhurriedly, pulling Wen Yuhuai into his embrace bit by bit.
“Finally. You’ve finally returned to my side again”.
The hands draped over Wen Yuhuai’s back tightened uncontrollably, and a satisfied sigh escaped his lips.
“You have no idea how much I missed you. I won’t let go this time, and don’t even think about leaving me again”.
Wen Yuhuai’s dark eyelashes lifted as he looked at him with no emotion, saying coldly, “What is the meaning of this? Didn’t you say you wouldn’t lock me up? Didn’t you say you’d give me freedom?”
Fu Xingjian rested his chin on his shoulder and buried his face in Wen Yuhuai’s neck, laughing out loud. “Of course I won’t lock you up again. You can go wherever you want. I won’t even say a word if you move back to your own home. I can give you anything you want, as long as you don’t leave Jing City”.
Wen Yuhuai curled his lips again and gave a mocking laugh. “Not being able to leave Jing City—this is the freedom you give?”
Fu Xingjian exhaled a deep breath and carried him toward the car. “There’s no other way. I’ll only feel at ease if you’re in Jing City. If you go elsewhere, what if you refuse to come back like this time?”
“I don’t have the energy to come catch you again. The price I paid this time was already high enough. There can’t be a next time”.
The interior of the stretch car was very spacious. The partition between the rear seat and the driver’s seat had already been raised. Once the door closed, the back seat became a completely independent space.
After getting in, Wen Yuhuai broke free from his embrace and found a corner to sit in. Perhaps because he understood his current situation, he had actually calmed down and stopped putting up any useless resistance.
Fu Xingjian didn’t pressure him further either. He let him stay there while he took out his phone and dialed a number.
“Uncle Xie, it’s me. I’ve already decided to return to Jing City. Thank you for looking after things during this time”.
It was unclear what the other side said, but Fu Xingjian laughed softly and added, “There is indeed a small favor I need your help with. I have some urgent matters to handle in Jing City, and my assistant just said the private jet application didn’t pass. I’m not sure what went wrong; we followed all the regulations”.
The other side seemed to promise him something. Fu Xingjian said “Alright” and quickly hung up the phone. He raised the partition and said to the driver in front, “To East City Airport”.
After saying that, the partition dropped again, and the car started moving.
Wen Yuhuai quietly watched the passing scenery outside, and all the emotions in his eyes gradually faded into calm.
“President Lin, we’ve tracked the car’s location to the outer ring road, but it’s been parked there for a long time. It’s hard to say if the person is still there”.
Lin Shiyu looked out the window expressionlessly, just as a stretch Rolls-Royce passed them from the left front.
There weren’t many of these stretch models in all of Hai City. He instinctively looked at the license plate, and his brow furrowed involuntarily.
The license plate was new.
Lin Shiyu propped his hand against his forehead, looking as if he were resting with his eyes closed, but his mind was spinning rapidly. After a moment, he suddenly opened his eyes and glanced back through the car window.
The two cars had already crossed paths for a long distance, and the stretch Rolls-Royce was no longer visible, but that road—
It was the direction to the airport.
“Make a U-turn at the next intersection immediately. Follow that stretch Rolls-Royce from just now”.
