Transmigrating to the Zerg: The Aloof Major General is my Female Monarch Chapter 3

Chapter 3: Filo

Yan Mo left the hospital and found that no one had blocked him or asked him to return. He felt a weight lift from his heart.

It seemed leaving the hospital wasn’t difficult, so he could start preparing his next steps.

He didn’t want an adoptive family, but since his knowledge of the Zerg world was limited, he couldn’t just rush off. He planned to observe the Zerg social environment and find a way to survive on his own.

Until then, he still needed to “borrow” the hospital’s room for a while longer.

“Heavens, what a lucky day! To actually see a Male Lord!”

“Ah! Is the Lord looking at me?!”

A Female caught Yan Mo’s gaze. His face flushed red as he frantically straightened his hair and clothes, looking at Yan Mo with a shy yet thrilled expression.

The Female was a head taller than Yan Mo, with muscles so developed it looked like he could lift Yan Mo with one hand. Yet, he was projecting the bashful aura of a maiden in love.

Yan Mo choked slightly. This jarring contrast was hard to accept, and he silently looked away.

The Female was left standing there with a disappointed and mournful gaze fixed on him.

As he walked, everyone he saw appeared to be a Female. It seemed the gender ratio truly was extreme.

Enduring the stares of the surrounding Females, Yan Mo reached a commercial street.

Rows of shops lined the street in an orderly fashion.

Yan Mo looked around and successfully spotted a recruitment notice.

He walked into a convenience store. The moment he entered, he was greeted with overwhelming enthusiasm.

The Female clerk in the store hovered around him with a flushed face.

“Excuse me, are you hiring here?”

The Female clerk froze for a moment before nodding.

“Yes, Lord. How can I help you?”

“I’m here for the interview.”

“What?”

The clerk gasped, covering his mouth. Realizing he was in front of a Male, he quickly gave Yan Mo an embarrassed smile.

“Lord, I need to ask my boss about this. Please wait a moment, I’ll contact him immediately.”

Yan Mo tried to stop him. “There’s no rush. If your boss isn’t here, I can come back another day.”

“No, no, no! How could we make a noble Male Lord wait? My boss said he’ll be here right away.”

Yan Mo had no choice but to stay and browse the store.

The boss didn’t make Yan Mo wait long. Within ten minutes, a panting Female burst through the door.

“Mike, you said a Male Lord came to our shop for an interview? Where? I don’t see him!”

The boss didn’t even have time to wipe the sweat from his forehead before he started questioning the clerk.

Yan Mo stepped out awkwardly from behind a shelf and waved.

“Heavens, it really is a Male Lord!”

The boss rushed over in three quick steps and bowed deeply to Yan Mo. He held out a card with both hands.

“I am so sorry! Lord, our shop cannot hire a Male Lord. This is compensation for you. There are ten thousand Star Credits inside. Please, do not be angry.”

Yan Mo was utterly confused. What was going on? Wasn’t he here for a job? Was this world really this surreal? A boss can’t hire someone, so they give the applicant compensation instead?

Did such a massive windfall really just fall from the sky?

Yan Mo’s mind raced. If he interviewed at every shop on this street, could he actually get rich this way?

He couldn’t help but find it funny.

He pushed the card back. “You don’t need to hire anyone right now? Then I’ll look elsewhere.”

The boss looked at the gentle-spoken Yan Mo and finally realized that the Male Lord wasn’t there to cause trouble; he actually wanted a job.

This was truly bizarre. Why would a Male suddenly want to work?

He looked at Yan Mo with some difficulty. “Lord, if I may be blunt… finding a job here might be quite difficult for you. No shop owner would dare let a noble Male Lord work.”

In the Zerg world, Males were supreme. Their status was protected by the Male Protection Association and they were provided for by Females. There had never been a case of a Male going out to work.

Yan Mo felt troubled. It seemed living independently here would be harder than he thought.

“I am terribly sorry, Lord! If you are in urgent need of money, I can introduce you to several excellent Females. With your appearance, there are surely many outstanding Females who would be willing to marry you!”

When a Zerg Female married a Male, all their assets became the property of their Male Master. It was unfair, yet countless Females were willing to sacrifice everything just to be with a Male.

The boss stared at Yan Mo. Such a Male was rare. The Females he knew would certainly love to meet this gentle Lord.

Yan Mo had no idea how the conversation had suddenly jumped to matchmaking.

He declined the boss’s kindness. “I have no plans to find a partner yet.”

Under the boss’s regretful gaze, Yan Mo left the convenience store.

Based on what he knew of this world now, the boss was probably right.

Finding a job while holding the identity of a “Male” would be an uphill battle.

Still, Yan Mo continued to wander, hoping to find a place willing to take him in.

Shortly after leaving the shop, Yan Mo suddenly turned around and saw a familiar figure.

It was a Female. Yan Mo didn’t know him, but they had crossed paths briefly inside the convenience store.

Seeing that Yan Mo had noticed him, the Female didn’t seem panicked at all. Instead, he gave Yan Mo a brilliant smile.

Yan Mo looked at the Female with a guarded expression.

The Female walked up to Yan Mo and bowed slightly in a gentlemanly gesture.

“Good day, Lord. It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Filo.”

Yan Mo looked at Filo. His clothes were luxurious and refined, and his mannerisms were distinctly different from the Military Females on the street. He was likely a Female of considerable wealth or power.

Yan Mo had no desire to get to know such a person.

The Females of this world were too obsessed with Males. Filo’s sudden approach naturally made Yan Mo wary.

At his core, he wasn’t their so-called “Male.” To avoid exposure, he needed to blend into the crowd and shed this “Male” identity as soon as possible.

Filo noticed Yan Mo’s wariness and offered a warm smile, trying to put the Male Lord at ease.

“Lord, I accidentally overheard your conversation with the shop owner. Are you looking for work? Perhaps I can be of assistance.”

Yan Mo looked at Filo with suspicion. He had just hit a wall with his job hunt, and now Filo appeared out of nowhere to help. Even if it was a lucky break, he was hesitant.

Yan Mo thought about it and decided to ignore Filo. He could still stay at the military hospital for now; he could figure out the job situation later.

Being in a world of strangers, if he ran into a Zerg human trafficker, it would be over. Since Males were so rare, there were bound to be dark forces working in the shadows where even the Male Protection Association couldn’t reach.

Translator’s Note:

In a world where Males are basically treated like rare treasures to be pampered, him asking for a job is like a billionaire asking to wash dishes for a living. Also, keep an eye on Filo (菲洛)—he seems a bit too helpful, doesn’t he?

I hope you enjoyed the first three chapters! I’ll try to keep the updates coming~
