Chapter 115: Registering the Marriage
“Still haven’t seen enough?”
Over the past few days, Ye Zhile had been looking at his diamond ring on repeat. He looked at it while eating, during class, and even right before bed. Ji Shuohan wrapped his arms around him from behind, and Ye Zhile smiled. “I just think this ring is so beautiful. And of course, it looks even better on my hand.”
Ji Shuohan was amused by his words. He pressed his cheek affectionately against Ye Zhile’s. “You little clever soul.”
Ye Zhile gave a cheeky “Hehe” in response.
The decision regarding the wedding date rested primarily with the two of them. Because Ye Zhile loved the ocean, Ji Shuohan decided the wedding would be held on a cruise ship. As for the date, considering they needed to decorate the venue, tailor the wedding attire, and draft the guest list, they settled on the following Saturday of the next month.
Ye Zhile had to attend classes while also coordinating the finer details of the wedding decor. Ji Shuohan was the same; after all, it was his own wedding. Being personally involved ensured everything would be to his satisfaction.
One weekend, after the custom wedding attire was finished, Ye Zhile was whisked away to try on ten different outfits. They were all tailor-made to his measurements, but to ensure perfection for the big day, certain details still required minor adjustments.
By the time the entire process was over, Ye Zhile collapsed onto the bed, completely exhausted. “I didn’t expect getting married to be more tiring than my university military training.”
“Our little grown-up has worked hard.” Ji Shuohan began massaging his shoulders and kneading his legs with great diligence.
“I’m not working hard; I’m just suffering,” Ye Zhile quipped.
“Then how about I serve you by helping you bathe?” As he spoke, Ji Shuohan picked Ye Zhile up and headed toward the bathroom. Ye Zhile had already resigned himself to his fate, going limp in his arms. He grumbled, “How is this you serving me? In the end, it’ll be me ‘serving’ you.”
Even though his hidden intentions had been called out, Ji Shuohan’s expression remained unchanged. However, he knew Ye Zhile was truly exhausted today, so he didn’t actually do anything. After they finished bathing and he had dried the boy’s hair, he simply held him close as they fell asleep.
Early the next morning, Ye Zhile was woken up while still in a deep sleep. Ji Shuohan coaxed him out of bed. “We’re going to get our marriage certificate today. We can come back and sleep more afterward, okay?”
Ye Zhile was a hundred thousand times unwilling to get up, but at the thought of it being for their marriage registration, he eventually forced himself awake.
The weather was lovely that day. Ye Zhile yawned as he climbed into the car, feeling warm and cozy. Ji Shuohan let him lean against him so he could take a short nap on the way.
Visiting the Civil Affairs Bureau once again, things felt entirely different than before. Ye Zhile looked up at Ji Shuohan; the man’s expression was gentle as he lowered his head to seriously fill out the documents. Sensing his gaze, Ji Shuohan looked over. “What is it?”
“Nothing,” Ye Zhile said, lowering his head to fill out his own forms.
When it came time for the wedding photo, Ye Zhile’s shoulder was slightly in front of Ji Shuohan’s. Without needing the staff to remind them, the two naturally leaned close together. Once the marriage certificate was issued, Ye Zhile flipped it open. Ji Shuohan had a faint smile on his face, while Ye Zhile’s smile was much more obvious, his eyes curving into crescents.
“The Leader and Young Master Ye really are a perfect match.” The staff member felt it was a sight for sore eyes, looking at the high-visual couple.
“Thank you,” Ji Shuohan replied, while Ye Zhile gave a shy smile.
Although Ye Zhile was a boy and didn’t need to wear a wedding dress, all the necessary rituals were still observed, including a wedding photo shoot.
They chose several locations for the shoot. The first set was taken at the Leader’s Mansion. When the photography team saw the mansion for the first time, they thought they had arrived at a tourist attraction; the area by the pond alone was enough for an entire set.
They brought Dudu along for the first set. Since the setting was traditional, the family of three wore Chinese-style robes. Ji Shuohan and Ye Zhile wore black and white respectively, while Dudu was in grey. Sitting between the two of them, the little one giggled as the photographer teased him.
“I didn’t realize the Leader would look so good in a traditional robe.” Ye Zhile’s eyes sparkled. Ji Shuohan’s features were naturally sharp and stern, and the traditional robe added a layer of solemnity, making him look majestic and powerful.
“I also didn’t expect Zhile to look so gentle and elegant in this white robe,” Ji Shuohan countered.
The two sat together, looking at each other with admiration—a clash of black and white, power and gentleness.
This was likely the easiest shoot the photographer had ever done. As long as the lighting was set, any random shot was a masterpiece.
The final set was at the beach. The sea breeze blew toward the shore, and Ye Zhile stepped barefoot into the shallow waves. He turned back and shouted, “The sea near my grandmother’s house is also very beautiful! It’s stunning all year round!”
“Mhm, I’ve been there.” Ji Shuohan followed behind him unhurriedly. Ye Zhile pursed his lips. “That’s right, you have.”
Ye Zhile had the time of his life playing in the water. After the photographer took a few specific shots, he let him play freely while capturing candid moments.
“Don’t go too deep,” Ji Shuohan reminded him, walking quickly to pull him back. “If a wave comes and sweeps you away, I won’t be able to find you.”
Ye Zhile turned around and hugged his waist. “Then I’ll turn into a mermaid and come back to find you, hehe~”
Ji Shuohan pinched the tip of his nose. “Don’t joke about that. The ocean is very deep.”
“I know,” Ye Zhile complied.
Ji Shuohan kept holding his hand as they were bathed in sunlight, the photographer capturing several more shots.
Within a week, they had taken four or five sets of photos. It was fun while doing it, but Ye Zhile only realized how exhausting it was once they were finished. He slept soundly in his room while Ji Shuohan went to the Leader’s Department to handle endless meetings and documents that had piled up over the days. Upon returning home, Ji Shuohan took a quick shower and fell asleep holding Ye Zhile.
Right up until the wedding, Ye Zhile was busy with classes and finalizing last-minute details. The day before the wedding, he and his family arrived at a seaside villa. Considering its proximity to the ocean, Ji Shuohan had recently had the villa purchased.
That night, Ye Zhile and Leng Xingtu, the two Omegas, were so rowdy that they couldn’t fall asleep. Ye Zhile couldn’t calm his nerves, but with the wedding tomorrow and his habit of sleeping in, he was worried sick.
“I’ll pat you to sleep. Hurry up and close your eyes.” As he spoke, Leng Xingtu began patting Ye Zhile’s back. This only made Ye Zhile even less sleepy, and he burst out laughing at Leng Xingtu’s antics.
“I’m just so excited,” Ye Zhile babbled excitedly. “It’s my first time getting married, after all.”
“…” Leng Xingtu said speechlessly, “I haven’t even been married once.”
“Hahahaha…” Ye Zhile laughed as he lay on the bed.
Just as Ye Zhile was trying to settle down to sleep, his phone rang. He looked and saw it was Ji Shuohan. He quickly got up and went to the balcony to answer.
“I knew you weren’t asleep yet,” Ji Shuohan said the moment he picked up.
Ye Zhile leaned against the railing, feeling the sea breeze. “I’m too hyper to sleep. You aren’t asleep either.”
“I’m hyper too,” Ji Shuohan admitted.
Ye Zhile laughed. Ji Shuohan coaxed him, “Alright, if it gets any later, you’ll probably want to skip the wedding tomorrow just to sleep in. Go to sleep now.”
“Okay,” Ye Zhile said in a clingy tone. “Is the Leader at the hotel?”
“Mhm, it’s closer to come from here tomorrow,” Ji Shuohan replied.
“Oh, okay. Then, goodnight, Leader.”
“Goodnight. Sweet dreams.”
