Tonight I Become My Male God’s Kitten—Lick Him! chapter 64

Chapter 64: You Punish Me

Mu Feng felt that this was a truly massive misunderstanding.

He was being framed! How could he possibly be avoiding Liang Yuhang? He wanted nothing more than to be glued to the man’s side every single day.

“No, I really wasn’t avoiding you.”

He lamented for the first time that cats couldn’t speak; all he could do was let out a series of frantic meows.

“What’s wrong?”

Liang Yuhang raised his hand, his palm resting on the cat’s damp head. “Why are you a little hot?”

Mu Feng pressed his head against the man’s hand, becoming even more certain that he had successfully returned to the past for a few minutes.

The dosage of the reagent had been too high, which could easily lead to hormonal imbalance.

“Your fevers have been a bit too frequent lately.”

Liang Yuhang picked him up and held him against his chest. Like a doctor performing an examination, he pried the cat’s mouth open to check the throat and tongue.

Mu Feng let out a series of muffled whimpers.

It’s not Mumu who’s sick; it’s clearly me!

“That’s why I told you not to soak in the water,” Liang Yuhang lectured. He stood up, still dripping wet, and wrapped the cat in a bath towel to dry and blow-dry its fur.

Mu Feng looked up at him. If only the time-slip had lasted a bit longer… Liang Yuhang was a man who took his time; a few minutes were definitely not enough.

“Maybe we should head to the pet hospital.”

While drying the fur, Liang Yuhang looked down to observe the kitten.

Mu Feng shook his head.

No need, the cat isn’t sick. Don’t you want to go downstairs and check on the ‘me’ still lying in the laboratory?

“I can’t understand you.”

Liang Yuhang rejected his attempt at communication. “You don’t want to go to the hospital?”

Mu Feng shook his head again. What if they decided to neuter him while they were at it?

Liang Yuhang sensed the cat’s resistance. “Fine. We’ll observe for the night and see how you are in the morning.”

He carried the cat back to the bed and grabbed his phone from the nightstand to send Mu Feng a message.

[Liang Yuhang: How is the experimental progress?]

Ten minutes passed. No reply.

Mu Feng rolled around anxiously beside him. He couldn’t sleep, and he couldn’t get back to his body. To hell with it—was this really a spiritual manifestation?

What kind of spiritual manifestation can’t even be controlled by its owner?

Mu Feng hadn’t looked to be in great shape when he left, so Liang Yuhang sent a second message.

[Liang Yuhang: Are you back in the dorm?]

Another ten minutes passed. Still no reply.

Liang Yuhang looked down at his screen. This was very unlike Mu Feng. Usually, the boy replied within seconds; it was rare for him not to respond while he was still awake.

Liang Yuhang stared at the phone for a few seconds before muttering to himself, “Forget it. Perhaps I’ve been too overbearing lately and he’s grown annoyed.”

Beside him, Mu Feng shook his head like a rattle.

No, no, no! Please let me explain!!!!

He couldn’t explain a thing. Liang Yuhang had never once connected the human to the cat.

Mu Feng closed his eyes and struggled on the bed. He couldn’t get back. He still couldn’t get back.

“What are you squirming for?” Liang Yuhang gave him a light swat.

It felt wonderful.

Wait, now was not the time for that.

“I’m truly done for.”

Mu Feng realized for the first time what it meant to shoot oneself in the foot. He had done all this just to see Liang Yuhang shower, and now the man misunderstood and thought he was being ignored.

He squeezed his eyes shut, wanting to fall asleep quickly, but Liang Yuhang started reviewing the medical reports from earlier that day. The annoying audio kept droning in his ears.

Unable to take it anymore, Mu Feng scrambled up and slammed a paw down on the pause button.

Stop playing it!!!

Liang Yuhang arched an eyebrow. “Why so fierce?”

“I have to go back and reply to your messages!”

Mu Feng wanted to cry but had no tears. He meowed incessantly.

Misunderstandings can’t be left overnight!

See? This was what happened when you didn’t move in together after the engagement. Now problems were cropping up.

Liang Yuhang hit the play button again, and the annoying report audio resumed.

Mu Feng: “……”

He was tired of this world.

To make matters worse, he was incredibly energetic today. No matter how much he tossed and turned, he couldn’t fall asleep. Not only that, but he felt a restless heat coursing through his body.

Halfway through the report, Liang Yuhang looked at his phone for the third time.

After a moment’s thought, he dialed Mu Feng’s number. He waited for a long time, but no one picked up.

“I’ve never seen you this enthusiastic before.”

Mu Feng squatted beside him, watching his movements. It was torture.

Stop calling, stop calling! Is it okay if I give you a hundred calls tomorrow?

“Could something have gone wrong?”

Liang Yuhang looked down and sent a message to Lu Zhuo.

[Liang Yuhang: Ask Jiang Yu’an if Mu Feng is back in the dorm.]

The reply came back dripping with sarcasm.

[Lu Zhuo: You have to take a three-way detour just to ask about a person? Are you capable or not?]

[Liang Yuhang: He didn’t pick up the phone.]

[Lu Zhuo: Oh, someone’s anxious. Wait, let me ask.]

Liang Yuhang reached out to stroke the cat’s head while waiting for a reply.

Mu Feng, meanwhile, was filled with despair. He muttered to himself, “It’s over. I’m really dead meat this time. How am I going to explain this?”

“Don’t be noisy.” Liang Yuhang stopped his meowing.

Lu Zhuo replied: [He’s not in the dorm. Maybe he’s still in the lab? Xiao Jiang is going to check. I’m heading downstairs too.]

Mu Feng caught a glimpse of the message. Only two words filled his mind: I’m toast.

Jiang Yu’an was going to find a Mu Feng in the lab who couldn’t be woken up no matter what.

Liang Yuhang called Lu Zhuo directly. “Are you at the lab?”

“I’m here. Mu Feng has fainted,” Lu Zhuo said.

“Fainted?”

Liang Yuhang grabbed the cat and tossed it aside, standing up to change his clothes. “I’ll be right there.”

Mu Feng anxiously jumped off the bed, intending to follow.

“You stay here. I’ll be back in a bit.” Liang Yuhang reached out to soothe him.

No, no, no! I have to go and watch. God knows where you guys are going to send me!

Mu Feng made a sudden leap, springing into the man’s arms and clinging on for dear life.

Liang Yuhang sighed helplessly. “Fine. We’ll go together.”

He swiped his card and took the elevator down. When he entered the lab, Jiang Yu’an was shaking Mu Feng back and forth. “Wake up! You can’t be sleeping this soundly!”

Watching himself from this perspective gave Mu Feng a bizarre sense of an out-of-body experience.

Help. Playing with reagents every day had finally backfired.

Liang Yuhang walked over quickly, stuffed the cat into Jiang Yu’an’s arms, and leaned down to perform an examination. “It does look like he’s fainted. He probably lost control of the dosage during the experiment.”

“Why are you carrying a cat? I don’t like cats.”

Jiang Yu’an looked disgusted, as if he were holding a hot potato. He shoved the cat into Lu Zhuo’s arms. “You hold it.”

Mu Feng: “……”

There was a first time for everything, including being rejected by Xiao Jiang.

The priority now was how to change back.

He jumped out of Jiang Yu’an’s arms and stood on the workstation, staring at the leftover reagents. Should he give himself another shot?

Liang Yuhang would probably hang him up and beat him for that.

“Send him to the hospital,” Jiang Yu’an babbled. “Oh wait, you are the doctor. What do we do?”

Liang Yuhang remained perfectly calm. He checked Mu Feng’s pupils and confirmed it was just a temporary loss of consciousness. “Use NGF to perform a wake-up stimulus.”

“That sounds advanced. I don’t understand,” Jiang Yu’an said with a blank face. “What ‘factor’?”

Lu Zhuo provided a quick lesson from the side. “Nerve Growth Factor. It’s used for short-term coma stimulation. Seriously, your studying has been for nothing.”

Mu Feng watched helplessly as Liang Yuhang picked up his body and swiped his card to head upstairs. They arrived at the Neurology Department and handed him over to the doctor on duty.

After a brief explanation, Mu Feng watched as he was sent into a treatment pod.

“I’m never trying to be ‘lewd’ again.”

Mu Feng covered his face, filled with despair.

Jiang Yu’an stood outside the consultation room, settling scores. “He went home to have dinner with you, so how did he end up like this? What kind of fiancé are you?”

“He wouldn’t let me stay,” Liang Yuhang said. “He wanted to do the experiment himself.”

“You’re his Junior Mentor! You didn’t watch over him and let him experiment alone!”

Jiang Yu’an shook his head repeatedly. “I’m going to revoke your qualification as his Junior Mentor!”

“Stop talking, stop talking.” Mu Feng jumped up and tried to cover the man’s mouth.

“This cat is so annoying.” Jiang Yu’an turned his head to dodge. “The fiancé isn’t qualified, and neither is the cat. Everyone gets a failing grade.”

Lu Zhuo tried to put in a good word. “It was a fake engagement to begin with. Expecting him to watch over him twenty-four hours a day is too harsh.”

“You’re speaking for him? I’m revoking your qualification to manage me this month.”

Jiang Yu’an attacked everyone equally.

Lu Zhuo: “……”

Liang Yuhang’s gaze was fixed on the treatment pod. He raised a hand to rub his brow, not wanting to argue with him. “It’s my fault.”

Lu Zhuo’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.

When had anyone ever seen Colonel Liang bow his head and apologize?

Jiang Yu’an kept a cold face, his arms crossed. “I should have stopped Mu Bao from getting engaged to you. As expected, my eyes are like a ruler—you two aren’t a match at all.”

Mu Feng wanted to die.

The machinery inside started operating. He felt a sharp pain in his brain. Suddenly, his spiritual power was amplified several times over, as if struck by lightning, and he snapped back into his body.

With a clatter, the machinery was shattered by the force.

The doctor on duty picked up the fragments from the floor with a pained expression. “……That was very expensive.”

“Hey, he’s awake! That NGF stuff actually worked.”

Jiang Yu’an affirmed Liang Yuhang’s medical judgment before delivering a crushing blow to his character. “Of course, the fact that you didn’t look after Mu Bao properly is completely unforgivable.”

“Xiao Jiang.”

Mu Feng climbed out of the machine, his head spinning. “Stop scolding Professor Liang.”

Jiang Yu’an was frustrated by his lack of spine. “My god, I’m truly speechless. You’re still speaking for him? Is your head still dizzy?”

“I’m alright.”

Mu Feng felt incredibly guilty. Fortunately, aside from the broken machine, there were no other accidents.

Liang Yuhang walked up to him, reached out to lift his chin, and carefully examined his pupils. “Mhm. They’re back to normal.”

“I’m sorry for making you all worry,” Mu Feng whispered. “It was my own experimental error. I’m really fine. I just need some sleep.”

Liang Yuhang touched his forehead. “You still have a bit of a fever.”

Jiang Yu’an said with deep sorrow, “Our perfectly fine Mu Bao… how did he end up with all these ailments after spending a single night with you? Come back with me; I’ll take care of you.”

“Take him to my place. I’ll look after him,” Liang Yuhang said.

“No! I have a very big problem with you right now.”

Jiang Yu’an hooked an arm around Mu Feng’s shoulder like a protective mother hen. “Can you even look after him properly? What if something goes wrong again?”

Lu Zhuo said helplessly, “He’s the doctor. Why are you arguing with a doctor?”

That single sentence shut Jiang Yu’an up completely.

“Follow me upstairs.”

Liang Yuhang looked at the patient, his voice softening slightly. “Can you walk?”

Mu Feng nodded and stood up with difficulty.

“The equipment… please pay for it.” The doctor on duty pointed at the fragments scattered across the floor. “How can his spiritual power be this strong?”

Mu Feng opened his mouth. “I’m sorry. I’ll pay for it.”

“I’ll handle it.”

Liang Yuhang raised a hand and rubbed his brow; he had a splitting headache.

Mu Feng’s head dropped lower and lower. He carried the cat and followed Liang Yuhang into the elevator, not daring to look up.

He whispered, “I’m sorry. I made you get scolded by Xiao Jiang. I was wrong, Professor Liang. I shouldn’t have insisted on you leaving so I could experiment on my own.”

Liang Yuhang didn’t speak. He kept a cold face as he entered the room and sat down on the sofa, lighting a cigarette.

He couldn’t bring himself to scold a disobedient child who was still sick.

Mu Feng followed him over and knelt straight at his feet.

“I was really wrong. Please punish me. Anything is fine.”
