Transmigrating to the Zerg: The Aloof Major General is my Female Monarch Chapter 14

Chapter 14: Conflict

The two of them paused. The voice sounded unfamiliar and didn’t seem to be calling them, so they didn’t stop and continued walking forward.

The voice from behind grew even more furious.

“Damn it, I told you to stop! Didn’t you hear me?”

Then, a pulling force yanked at Yan Mo’s arm.

As his wrist was grabbed, Yan Mo reflexively caught the visitor’s wrist in return. With a forceful pull, he spun and locked the opponent’s shoulder, pinning his arm behind his back.

“Ah—Ow ow ow—”

The Male pinned by Yan Mo looked at him with venomous eyes, shouting curses: “You damn lowly insect, let me go!”

Yan Mo saw his face clearly; it was the same Male who had been hurling curses at the spaceport employee just moments ago.

The Male was pinned to the ground by Yan Mo and couldn’t move. His several Female Attendants rushed toward Yan Mo, appearing as if they wanted to rescue their Male Master, but because Yan Mo was also a Male, they didn’t dare lay a hand on him.

“Lord, please release our Master quickly. Harming a Male is a crime!”

Yan Mo frowned and looked at the Male. Seeing that his attendants had arrived, the Male became even more arrogant: “Stinking insect, let me go, or I’ll make you regret it.”

He then cursed at his attendants: “You useless trash, why aren’t you saving me?! Damn it, I’m going to send you all to the disciplinary room…”

Hearing “disciplinary room,” the already tense faces of the Females turned even paler. Two of them were trembling all over.

One of them bit his lip and knelt at Yan Mo’s feet.

“Lord, we beg you to let him go…”

Yan Mo was startled and released his grip on the Male.

His Female Attendants immediately surrounded him anxiously, helping the Male up.

The spaceport employee also stepped forward and said helplessly, “Lord Pete, I am truly sorry, but we really cannot match a suitable flight…”

The Male named Pete shoved aside the attendants who were supporting him with a look of extreme impatience. He cursed them as “useless trash” before speaking arrogantly to the bowing employee.

“I don’t care! I must reach Planet Cangnan today. If you don’t prepare a flight for me, I will go to the Male Protection Association and report you…”

Yan Mo frowned. Pete looked at him again and said to one of his attendants: “Go and break his hand!”

Yan Mo was stunned. Before he could react, Lan Ze’s gaze turned cold at his side: “You dare!”

Pete’s attendant turned pale and said with a tremble, “Master, harming a Male is a capital crime! I will be exiled to a garbage planet!”

“Useless thing! Being able to teach this undifferentiated lowly insect a lesson for me is your honor…”

Pete was a D-rank Male who had already undergone secondary differentiation. While this rank wasn’t considered high on the Capital Star, in a remote military outpost planet like Efa Star, he was an incredibly precious existence.

Secondary differentiation was a vital milestone determining whether a Male could provide pheromone soothing for Females.

Interstellar Males generally underwent secondary differentiation in their teens, with the latest occurring no later than age twenty.

Research showed that Males who had not differentiated by age twenty mostly suffered from genetic issues.

The Zerg was a race with clear social strata. Males were precious because of their scarcity and special abilities. A Male who could not differentiate held an awkward position in Zerg society.

This was precisely why Pete was openly picking a fight.

By breaking one of Yan Mo’s hands, he would at most lose one Female Attendant; he could marry more in the future.

When it came down to a choice between a differentiated Male and an undifferentiated “useless insect,” it was obvious whose side the Male Protection Association would take.

Pete slanted his eyebrows as he looked at Yan Mo, the malice on his greasy face impossible to hide.

He wanted to give this “useless insect” who dared to offend him a piece of his mind.

The spaceport employee didn’t want the two Male Lords to have a conflict here either. After all, no matter which side suffered a loss, it would be a massive headache for him.

Hunched over, the employee said with a smile to Pete: “Lord Pete, there really is no other way. The interstellar starship to Planet Cangnan just departed half an hour ago. The next flight won’t be for another four hours. Please head to the VIP lounge to rest for a while; we will absolutely arrange your itinerary.”

Planet Cangnan was a famous tourist planet.

Pete and his several attendants had come from another planet and were transiting through the Efa Star Spaceport to ultimately vacation on Planet Cangnan.

Originally, the itinerary was perfectly arranged. However, upon transiting through Efa Star, Pete caused a bit of trouble, which delayed them. By the time his attendants brought him to the spaceport, the starship to Planet Cangnan had already left.

There were many noble Males traveling on that starship, so naturally, it couldn’t wait for Pete.

Although Pete was only a D-rank Male, he was used to acting overbearing based on his status. He refused to let the matter rest and dragged the spaceport employee into a scene.

This led to the situation Yan Mo had witnessed.

Males were rare among the Zerg, and an exquisitely handsome Male like Yan Mo was even rarer. From the moment he entered the spaceport, he had drawn the gazes of many Females.

For the Zerg, the more handsome the appearance, the higher the rank usually was.

Pete had initially cast a jealous glance at Yan Mo, but then he discovered that Yan Mo had no pheromones. He looked to be in his twenties yet hadn’t undergone secondary differentiation. Seeing him head toward the passage for Planet Cangnan, Pete became smug and wanted to stop him to steal his flight ticket.

“Heh, you lowly insect actually dare to lie to me!” Pete pointed at Yan Mo and roared at the employee. “Didn’t you say there were no starships to Planet Cangnan? Then where is he going?!”

The employee naturally recognized the military rank on Lan Ze’s shoulder: “This Lord is using the military passage. There is a military mission today; the ships here are not commercial starships, but military vessels.”

Pete wouldn’t listen.

“I don’t care! He injured me today, so his hand must be broken, and his flight ticket must be given to me as an apology.”

Yan Mo looked at Pete’s unreasonable behavior with speechlessness; he hadn’t expected to be dragged into this unprovoked disaster.

He pulled at Lan Ze, who was standing beside him staring coldly at Pete. He didn’t want to waste time here with this brainless Male.

“Let’s go.”

“Mm.”

Yan Mo and Lan Ze turned to leave.

Seeing them ignore him like this, Pete turned red with rage and fiercely slapped one of his attendants.

“What are you standing there for?! I told you to go break his hand!”

Pete didn’t recognize Lan Ze, but that attendant was a Military Female who knew Lan Ze was a Major General of the Fourth Legion.

The attendant knew that if it were any other ordinary, undifferentiated Male, following Pete’s orders would result in nothing more than exile to a garbage planet. He even felt that would be a good choice—struggling to survive on a garbage planet was better than suffering a living death by Pete’s side.

However, that was the Major General of the Fourth Army’s Male Master. If he dared touch a single hair on that Male’s head, Major General Lan Ze could make him wish he were dead.

Seeing the attendant stand there motionless with a terrified expression, Pete grew even angrier. He pulled out a whip he wore at his waist and lashed the attendant several times.

“What are you doing?!”

Yan Mo was stunned; he hadn’t expected someone to be so brazen as to abuse a Female in public.

He turned around and walked toward Pete, catching the whip in his hand. With a slight tug, he snatched it away.

Pete’s nose was tilted toward the sky. “Mind your own business! I’m teaching my own attendant a lesson; what the hell does it have to do with you?!”

Lan Ze anxiously grabbed Yan Mo’s hand which had snatched the whip, checking his palm. When Pete saw Yan Mo approach, he had lashed out toward him. Although Yan Mo caught it, it inevitably left a red mark on the Male’s fair and slender palm.

Lan Ze checked carefully and found that the skin wasn’t broken, which relieved him slightly. However, looking at the stinging red mark on Yan Mo’s palm, he couldn’t help but feel a wave of heartache.

“Lord Pete, please apologize to my Male Lord.”

Hearing this, Pete finally turned his gaze toward Lan Ze.

“What a joke! Me, apologize to an undifferentiated lowly insect?!”

Lan Ze gave a cold laugh. “I suggest the Lord think carefully. This is Efa Star; the Capital Star’s Male Protection Association is more than a dozen interstellar jump points away.”

Although Efa Star also had a Male Protection Association, it was a military outpost after all. The number of Males living there was small, and the Association’s power was relatively limited.

As the saying goes, “the heavens are high and the emperor is far away.” On Efa Star, while the military had to show some face to the Male Protection Association, it was not entirely controlled by them.
