Chapter 146: Young People Have No Sense of Restraint
Sen Ji glanced behind him. Seeing no sign of Hong Que, he raised an eyebrow. “Just you?”
That fellow Hong Que was actually willing to let his younger brother beat him to the punch?
Sen Ji knew that was impossible; the guy must have been tricked away by Mo Yin.
Sen Ji wasn’t as thick-skinned as Hong Que. He absolutely dared not underestimate Mo Yin’s weight in Xie Qiang’s heart. Therefore, he stepped aside and called out to the girl inside the room, “Xie Qiang, Mo Yin wants to join.”
Xie Qiang was looking for a pillow. Hearing this, she poked her head out in confusion. “Join what?”
Going to the battlefield to fight the Zerg?
“Sleeping together,” Sen Ji said in a flat tone. “All three of us together.”
“Oh.” Facing Mo Yin, it was hard for Xie Qiang to think dirty; she assumed it meant normal sleeping. Thus, she looked down at the 2.8-meter-wide bed. “Sure, sleeping with four people wouldn’t be a problem!”
Two weren’t enough, and now she wanted three?
Sen Ji narrowed his eyes upon hearing this, his emerald tiger eyes turning profoundly deep.
It seemed he hadn’t fully satisfied her previously?
The man felt a trace of frustration and jealousy in his heart. He glanced at the young and handsome Mo Yin, and after a moment, asked with a highly critical look, “How long can you last?”
Mo Yin tilted his head. Was he asking how long he planned to sleep here?
The black-clad young man said with a serious face, “It depends on when she wakes up.”
Sen Ji’s body shattered slightly.
Young people truly had no sense of restraint. He actually intended to run her ragged until she fainted, and then continue doing it until she woke up?
“A Guide’s body is delicate and lacks self-healing abilities. You cannot go on for so… long.” Sen Ji kept his face taut. “As a Sentinel, you must learn to read the room. When you see she is tired, you should stop.”
If even a silent Sentinel like Mo Yin was this reckless, Sen Ji didn’t dare imagine how much Xie Qiang would suffer if it were Hong Que.
As expected, should the first time be supervised throughout?
Mo Yin blinked his wolf-like eyes a few times, a bit uncomprehending.
What did sleeping have to do with self-healing abilities?
He didn’t understand, but nodding was fine.
Thus, Mo Yin nodded.
Sen Ji wanted to say more, but an alarm suddenly blared in the corridor, followed by a war zone announcement:
“Warning! Warning! The Zerg are flying toward the war zone at a speed of 60 km/h! Sentinels of all units, prepare for battle immediately!”
“The Zerg are here?”
Xie Qiang jogged to the doorway upon hearing the sound. “So suddenly? Could it be that the Zerg Queen sensed me and immediately dispatched the Zerg to launch an attack?”
“Highly probable. This attack might even feature an Insect King coming to test whether I am by your side.” Sen Ji raised his hand to rub the top of the girl’s head. “I’ll go over and take a look. Stay by Mo Yin’s side and don’t wander around.”
Xie Qiang nodded. “Then be careful, and come back early.”
“If I come back too late, you should sleep first,” Sen Ji paused, then added, “I mean normal sleeping.”
Xie Qiang understood his meaning and, with a flushed face, pushed him out the door. “I know!”
She wasn’t that starved!
Sen Ji docs left.
By the time he reached the main command room of the war zone, he discovered that Hong Que was actually here as well, while Rong Liang was deploying the departing Sentinel squads.
Upon seeing Sen Ji, Rong Liang gave a polite nod. “Commander Sen, I was just about to contact you.”
“The surveillance equipment scanned a figure suspected to be an Insect King. It’s currently unconfirmed if it truly is one. I have already sent Rong Bai to verify. If it is, I’m afraid we will need you to take action.”
“No need for him, I’ll go!” Hong Que was eager to try. “Give me Rong Bai’s coordinates, and I’ll go rendezvous with him!”
Rong Liang was somewhat surprised. An S-class Sentinel would still struggle greatly against an Insect King. Was this young Sentinel on the battlefield for the first time to be so reckless and bellicose?
Sen Ji cast a cool look at Hong Que, secretly guessing his objective. “Then let him go. Two S-class Sentinels facing an Insect King won’t lose their lives for nothing.”
“Since Commander Sen has spoken, I won’t decline.” Rong Liang transmitted Rong Bai’s movement coordinates to Hong Que, then contacted Rong Bai. “Hong Que will rush over to rendezvous with you. Kill the Insect King if at all possible.”
Pausing, Rong Liang’s voice was crisp and cold. “Go all out. You need not have any lingering worries.”
“Understood.” On the other end, Rong Bai’s voice was steady and concise.
After hanging up, Rong Liang looked at the monitoring screens before him, his gloved hands operating them skillfully. Confirming that the combat Sentinels were in position, he lightly tapped the desk with his fingertip and turned to Sen Ji. “Since Commander Sen is here to assist, why don’t you take command this time? It’s a rare chance for me to slack off a bit.”
Sen Ji did not decline. “Then leave everything entirely to me.”
“Naturally. Having two commanders on a battlefield is a cardinal sin.” Rong Liang smiled, turning to Yu Jin. “Yu Jin, assist Commander Sen well. Obey his arrangements in all matters.”
“Yes.” Yu Jin’s narrow eyes narrowed slightly, revealing a meaningful smile. “Then get a good rest.”
…
Leaving the command room, Rong Liang unhurriedly stripped off his white gloves, his pale, slender fingers brushing the long hair at his temples behind his head. He cast a faint glance back at the command room behind him, then silently walked toward the living quarters.
He was already unable to wait any longer.
The purification energy of that S-class Guide was truly addictive. Having been separated for only half an hour, he already felt an emptiness so intense that he wanted to immediately coil his tiger tail around her legs and make her his Guide.
Recalling the girl’s clear and innocent aura, a dark light flashed across Rong Liang’s eyes.
My apologies, Commander Sen.
The battle for a Guide has always been thus.
His military boots came to a halt outside the girl’s room. Rong Liang, clutching two pillows under his arm, raised his hand to press the intercom on the door lock, his voice as cool and clear as a mountain spring. “Miss Qiangwei, are you in your room?”
Inside the room, hearing Rong Liang’s voice, Xie Qiang, who was in the middle of changing into her sleepwear, hurriedly threw on her coat and walked quickly to the door. “Commander Rong, is there something the matter?”
“I突然想起來,薔薇小姐的房間裡,好像沒有枕頭.” Rong Liang’s voice was steady, as if he were merely stating a perfectly ordinary matter. “So I specifically brought them over in person.”
Xie Qiang’s footsteps halted, and she turned back to look at the massive bed in the room, focusing on the empty headboard.
She scratched her head.
Did this Commander Rong have such an incredible memory that he remembered exactly which room lacked pillows?
She opened the door, lifting her head to meet Rong Liang’s sapphire-like purple tiger eyes.
Those purple eyes narrowed slightly, veiling the thoughts hidden within. One could only see his handsome, noble face adorned with a perfectly poised smile as he said amicably, “Miss Qiangwei, do you mind if I come in and sit for a while?”
His tiger pupils dropped almost imperceptibly, scanning her slender legs exposed beneath her coat, and he said unhurriedly, “I am quite curious about how the Sentinels of the Third War Zone destroyed their wormholes.”
