Shen Ci had no intention of “growing bigger and stronger to create more glory.”
He was planning to trick Ye Xi into taking the company off his hands in the next day or two.

Wu Mu wasn’t angry. He replied with a beaming smile, “Nothing.”

“Wu Mu, are you looking for trouble?”
Wu Mu stopped teasing him and pulled a card out of his wallet, handing it to Shen Ci. “Baby, this is my ‘Wife Fund.’ The password is six ones. Keep it. Buy whatever you want; don’t worry about saving money for me.”
Shen Ci glanced at the card. “You should save your Wife Fund for your actual wife.”
“You are my wife.”
“Wu Mu, I never said Iād be with you. Besides, Iām a man; I can’t be someone’s wife. Take it back.”
Wu Mu blinked. “Then Iāll be your wife. Why don’t you marry me? The money in here can be my dowry.”
Shen Ci: “…”
He had never met anyone as shameless as Wu Mu.

“Is there something Young Master Qi needs with me?”
“Let’s meet and talk?”
Wu Mu arched an eyebrow. “Sure. Where?”
Ye Xi gave an address and then hung up the phone.
Wu Mu turned the car around and headed for the cafe Ye Xi had specified.

Inside the private booth, Ye Xi and Wu Mu sat face-to-face.
Wu Mu leaned back against the sofa in a relaxed posture. “Young Master Qi seems to have recovered quite well.”
The wound on Ye Xiās wrist had just healed, and he couldn’t exert any force with it yet. Fortunately, it was his left hand.
Hearing Wu Muās words, Ye Xiās expression didn’t change. His gaze swept over the blatant love bite on Wu Muās neck, and he cursed “Slut!” in his heart.
Suppressing his rage, he took a sip of the coffee in front of him.
The bitter taste allowed him to regain some temporary composure.
“CEO Wu, have you become addicted to sleeping with other people’s boyfriends? Are you that desperate to be a mistress? I wonder what Grandpa Wu would think if he knew.”
Wu Mu let out a derisive snort.
He took a cigarette from the table and lit it. After taking two puffs, he spoke unhurriedly.
“Thereās no need for you to worry about that. If my grandfather finds out, heāll only praise me for having a dream. After all, Iām rising to the top based on my own strength. Ye Xi, Shen Ci doesn’t love you. Even if you use suicide to make him soft-hearted for a moment, that kind of sympathy won’t last long. You might as well let go gracefully and give each other some final dignity.”
Ye Xi suddenly looked up at him. “Shen Ci is my boyfriend. I was with him long before you even existed. Why should I let go? Youāre the one who should let go.”
Wu Mu sneered. “But… his first time… was given to me.”
Ye Xi fought back the urge to throw a punch. He took a deep breath and looked at Wu Mu coldly.
“Wu Mu, just say it. What will it take for you to leave Shen Ci?”
Wu Mu crushed the remaining half of his cigarette into the ashtray.
“Thatās exactly what I wanted to say to you. Ye Xi, name your conditions.”
“I will never leave Shen Ci,” Ye Xi replied without even thinking.
“What a coincidence. Neither will I.”
The two of them stared directly at each other.
If looks could kill, they would have slaughtered each other countless times by now.
The private booth fell into a brief, heavy silence.
After a long while, Wu Mu sat up straight and was the first to speak. “Ye Xi, the Qi family and my family are old family friends. Your grandfather and my grandfather were comrades and remain old friends. I can’t move against the Qi family…”
He paused for a second. “Peaceful coexistence?”
Ye Xiās face was grim, but he knew Wu Mu was right. Even though he had been recognized back into the Qi family, Elder Qi would never allow him to go up against the Wu family.
Moreover, if the Qi family and the Wu family truly fought, it would only lead to a scenario where both sides lost.
Aside from peaceful coexistence, there seemed to be no better way.
He glanced at Wu Mu. “Based on our own abilities, then.”

He let out a light cough. “Ye Xi, Iām meeting President Lin at six. Iām almost late… How about I come find you in two days, okay?”
Ye Xiās expression darkened completely.
He doesn’t even want to see my face anymore?
