Are You Kidding Me! After Three Years as a Stand-in, You Say I’m the White Moonlight? Chapter 52

Chapter 52: I Want a Younger Brother

Maintaining his half-squatting posture, Chen Wei leisurely reached out and pressed the finger the boy was pointing at him back into his embrace.

Then, under the boy’s astonished and bewildered gaze, Chen Wei raised his hand again and gently stroked his head:

“Can you tell me your name?”

The boy bit his lip, slapping away the hand Chen Wei had placed on his head.

“Why should I tell you?” he asked.

Yet in the next second, when he looked up and met Chen Wei’s somewhat hurt eyes, he completely froze there.

His chest felt faintly tight. Averting Chen Wei’s gaze, the tips of his ears turning red, he muttered unnaturally and incredibly softly:

“Ji Can.”

But the moment the words left his mouth, he instantly regretted it.

He clearly hadn’t wanted to say it, but his body and mouth were utterly beyond his control.

Ji Can scratched his head in frustration.

“Ji Can, huh…”

Chen Wei slowly stood up, his palm resting once more on the soft crown of his hair. With a half-smile, he said:

“You should be twenty-one this year, right?”

“How did you know?”

Having his age exposed by Chen Wei just like that, the boy subconsciously looked up at him.

But upon realizing that Chen Wei had once again, without manners or boundaries, touched his hair, he knitted his brows and pushed his hand away for the second time.

Looking at his palm that had missed twice, a trace of loneliness stained the depths of Chen Wei’s desolate eyes:

“If my younger brother hadn’t gone missing, he would be about your age this year.”

The boy pouted, retorting his words, “But I’m not your younger brother.”

Retracting his hand, Chen Wei lowered his eyes and smiled silently, “Yes, you aren’t him.”

The boy only found him to be utterly baffling.

Weren’t the two of them supposed to be love rivals?

What was the meaning of him repeatedly reaching out to touch his head?

Didn’t he come today to declare his status to him?

He had never seen someone so cunning.

Using this kind of gentle offensive to push him into a corner with absolutely no room to fight back.

So much of the rhetoric he had prepared was completely useless against this guy.

No wonder he had successfully managed to capture Brother Sijin’s attention after he left.

He had to admit, the level of the person in front of him was truly somewhat advanced.

But so what?

The years of affection between him and Brother Sijin definitely couldn’t be compared to this lover who had only known Brother Sijin for three years.

Thinking like this, he found his confidence again.

Looking straight up at Chen Wei, he felt smug about the information he had privately gathered regarding Chen Wei:

“I know about you. Your name is Chen Wei, an obscure thirty-eighth-tier minor star.”

“You tried every possible way to get close to Brother Sijin, wasn’t it just so he would promote you and give you resources?”

“I can give you everything you want, as long as you’re willing to willingly leave Brother Sijin’s side.”

This overly childish speech successfully made Chen Wei laugh.

The sound of his laughter reached Ji Can’s ears. With his ears turning red, he demanded angrily:

“What are you laughing at! What’s so funny!”

Seeing that he seemed to be angry, Chen Wei had to put away his expression.

Instead, he gently rested his hands on the wheelchair, bent slightly, and looked straight into his eyes. With eyes full of tenderness, he smiled at him and asked:

“Do you really know what I want?”

“Of course…”

“I want a younger brother.”

“…”

This was already the second time today that Ji Can had turned his head away to avoid Chen Wei’s gaze.

He found that whenever Chen Wei stared at him intently with those firm, serious eyes, he couldn’t calm his heart and look him in the eye peacefully.

Ji Can didn’t know what was wrong with him.

He just felt that this guy Chen Wei was incredibly cunning, never answering his questions directly.

With one airy sentence, he could divert the topic while invisibly delivering a fatal blow.

Ji Can bit his lower lip tightly, unable to figure out exactly what was wrong.

If Chen Wei were arrogant and domineering, he could openly call people to throw him out.

If Chen Wei were timid as a mouse, his initial mockery upon meeting, as well as his subsequent threats and intimidation, would have been enough to scare him away.

But Chen Wei…

His actions were completely beyond his comprehension.

Even the most difficult experiment his teacher had assigned him wasn’t as tricky as the Chen Wei standing before him.

Gripping the wheelchair beneath him tightly, he steadied his mindset and bolstered his courage.

Ji Can looked up.

“So you’re saying you refuse to leave Brother Sijin?”

Chen Wei looked back at him: “When I find my brother, I will naturally leave him.”

Ji Can jumped up and retorted: “I’ve told you so many times, I am not your younger brother! Is there something wrong with your…”

Before he could finish speaking, he was interrupted by the sudden ringing of a cell phone.

Taking the phone from his pocket, the caller was none other than Zhou Sijin.

Chen Wei took the call.

From the other end came Zhou Sijin’s somewhat anxious questioning:

“You brought people to the villa?”

Without a second word, Chen Wei directly hung up the phone.

He had called Zhou Sijin so many times and couldn’t get through.

Now, knowing that he had come to the villa, he hurriedly called to interrogate him.

Chen Wei wanted to laugh.

Was he afraid that he would hurt his precious darling?

Now that Zhou Sijin knew he was here, he didn’t have much time left to waste with this boy.

Squatting down again, looking at this face that looked so much like his brother’s, Chen Wei tried to lower his voice as much as possible so as not to scare the person in front of him with his tone.

“Where is Jiang Chuan?” he asked carefully.

Faced with another baffling question, Ji Can said impatiently:

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Beside them, Han Chi was watching with extreme anxiety.

Taking his own phone out of his pocket, without further explanation, he shoved it right up to Ji Can’s face:

“Little brother, it’s this person. Your people accidentally caught the wrong guy today.”

The phone was too close, instantly stimulating Ji Can’s eyes into a momentary blur.

“Oh, sorry.”

Han Chi apologized while belatedly pulling the phone back a bit.

Only then did Ji Can see the face of the person on the phone clearly.

But in just an instant, he turned his face away coldly and snorted:

“So you two came here for this peeping tom. Don’t even think about me telling you where he is.”

“Tsk,” Han Chi said anxiously, “You little brat.”

Chen Wei raised a hand to stop him, patiently explaining:

“He’s not a bad person, and he certainly has no intention of hurting anyone.”

“He’s been wandering around my villa all day. You say he has no ulterior motives, who would believe that!”

The way the kid threw a tantrum left Chen Wei completely without a temper, but Chen Wei still offered him the utmost patience and indulgence:

“Then what exactly will it take for you to let him go?”

Ji Can refused to yield: “Who knows if he’s a spy sent by a business rival to gather intel. Anyway, I’m going to wait until Brother Sijin gets back and hand him over to Brother Sijin to deal with.”

Chen Wei let out a long sigh.

It seemed negotiation wasn’t going to work.

But Chen Wei couldn’t actually get physical with him.

Looking back, he didn’t even need to think to know what those few sneaky figures outside the door were up to.

The news of his arrival at the villa was probably relayed to Zhou Sijin by them via phone call as well.
