“How are you feeling?”
Su Miantang was the first to break the incredibly awkward silence.
“Great.”
Qin Yanzhou lowered his head.
Su Miantang rested one hand on his shoulder and leaned over to check the back of his neck. As her warm, sweet scent drifted over him, the tall manās body froze instantly.
Tangtang is looking at my… gland?
“It really is better.”
“The membrane restored perfectly. No one will ever break it again. And you aren’t allowed to go crazy like that anymore, do you hear me?”

Qin Yanzhouās gaze shifted nervously as he heard that.
“Hm?”
Seeing him not respond, Su Miantang was about to ask if he had other concerns when she met his upward, burning gaze. It was so intense it felt as if it were physically pulling at her. “Tangtang… I want you to be the one to pierce it.”

He immediately stepped forward, gripping her shoulders. His eyes searched her from head to toe with frantic precision. Only after confirming she was unharmed did he let out a breath.
“Iām fine, really. Iām great. Did… did someone from the Academy report something to you?”
She had known there would be trouble the moment Qin Yanzhou broke into the Science Academy, which is why she had been so desperate to get back. She hadn’t expected to be a step too late.
“Yes.”
A dangerous S-grade male with a history of harming females had broken into the Academy and abducted her without permission. When he heard the news, his heart had nearly stopped.
“What was Qin Yanzhou doing at the Science Academy? What did he do to you?”
Even from ten thousand meters up, Lu Siliās gaze was sharp as he looked down at the male beastman on the ground. His handsome face was devoid of its usual calm and scholarly grace.

“Then why did he abduct you?”
“Because…” Su Miantang took his hand and led him into the aircraft. “Sit down. Iāll tell you everything.”
She explained the truth behind Qin Yanzhouās “harming females” incident and how the Qin couple had begged her to help treat him.
As Lu Sili listened, his face didn’t get better; if anything, it grew darker.
But it was for a completely different reason.
“Miantang… youāve been with him these past few days?”
“Yes.”
The moment she said it, the man turned his face away, but his grip on her hand tightened.
“No wonder.”
“No wonder what?”
No wonder that male’s gaze was so sticky as he watched her. He could feel it even from this distance.
Though he had been on a lecture tour on another planet, he had heard the news: “The Qin Group will provide military supplies to the Central Star for free, indefinitely.” He had assumed it was a deal struck by the government. Now he realized… it was because of Miantang.
It was because the head of the Qin Group had designs on her.
He rubbed his brow.
He had always thought he would be a generous, composed male who could handle any situation, regardless of who his beloved female was. He hadn’t expected that seeing someone else clinging to Miantangāand seeing that Miantang didn’t seem to mind itāwould make him feel so bitter.

He said it was nothing, but his hand gripped hers even tighter, as if staking a claim.
Su Miantang caught a hint of something sour in the air. Her lips quirked into a small smile as she reached up to smooth the messy hair on his forehead.
The always elegant and poised Dean had lost his temper and even his grooming; it was clear how much he had worried.
“Dean, did you rush back from another planet?”
“Yes.”
“Your hair is messy.”
And my heart is messier.
“Actually…” Su Miantang felt a bit touched. She leaned in closer to coax him. “Next time you go on a lecture tour, why don’t you take me with you?”
“No.”
Lu Sili refused immediately.
If he took her along, he wouldn’t be able to focus on work at all.
Are males this hard to coax?
Su Miantang raised an eyebrow. “Fine then.”
Sensing her initiative and affection, Lu Siliās heart began to flutter. The jealousy and bitterness from before vanished like smoke. He suddenly wanted to shift into his beast form and let her groom his fur… and he wanted even more.
“Miantang, do you have time later?”
“No.”
Su Miantang shook her head coldly and tried to pull her hand away.
“Is there something you need to do?”
“Yes. Iām inviting a certain male to dinner.”
Lu Siliās brow furrowed instantly. He sounded incredibly sour. “Who is it this time?”
