Chapter 162: Just Playing Around
SSSS-grade?
She certainly dared to dream.
Wait a minute.
Suddenly, a realization flashed through Tenleson’s brain, and his entire body went completely rigid. His emerald-green snake pupils erupted with a highly complex, cryptic light.
A short while ago, the Central Planet government had broadcast a monumental, explosive piece of news: the empire had birthed an unprecedented SSSS-grade female, hailed by the entire populace as the Supreme Sovereign of the World, rumored to hold the absolute power over the life and death of every single beastman in existence.
Could she…
Sensing the sudden rigidity of his arm, Su Miantang assumed her silence had provoked his annoyance. Fearing he might turn volatile and refuse to cooperate with the extraction, she lifted her head and offered a gentle smile.
“D-grade.”
With features as picturesque as the stars, a smile capable of capturing a person’s soul, a flawless countenance, and a radiant aura… if she weren’t that SSSS-grade sovereign, who else in this universe could possibly be?
“Are you certain?”
The man’s voice dropped into a register so deep it felt as if it had been quenched in ice.
【It’s a fake.】
Given that she was the sovereign, why on earth was she concealing it? Weren’t females inherently proud, loving nothing more than to flaunt their pheromone grades?
Why hadn’t she driven her pheromones directly to suppress him and extract the blood? Even if she drained him dry, it wouldn’t matter… Central Planet citizens were completely self-serving, greedy, and base, weren’t they? She didn’t need to lower herself like this at all, enduring his mockery and even agreeing to his unhinged demands.
He stared fixedly at her, his eyes overflowing with an intense desire to unravel her mystery.
For the very first time, he felt that even with his Mind Reading capability, he couldn’t comprehend a person at all.
“Why?”
“Why what?”
Su Miantang looked confused.
“Why don’t you utilize your pheromones to suppress me?”
“…I am a D-grade and you are an SS-grade. How on earth am I supposed to suppress you?”
“What if you could?”
“I still wouldn’t.”
Su Miantang lowered her head.
“Why?”
【Is he a literal human embodiment of ‘Why’?】
“Do you know what kind of person I am?”
【A convict.】
“Where do I originate from?”
【Planet X.】
“Then why don’t you utilize your pheromones to suppress me?”
Instead of showing any restraint, his voice grew increasingly aggressive and domineering, as if trying to push her completely into a corner where she had nowhere left to hide.
Su Miantang was thoroughly rendered speechless by his relentless cross-examination.
What on earth was the point of this hypothetical scenario?
“Then I’ll suppress you, alright?”
Tenleson was also stunned by her response, which carried an indulgent tone as if she were coaxing a child.
Within his heart, an involuntary response automatically surfaced: Alright.
He furrowed his sharp brows tightly. Just as he prepared to press further, he caught her inner thoughts.
【Regardless of your identity or what crimes you’ve committed in the past, right now in my eyes, you are merely the savior of over twenty children. I cannot thank you enough, so why on earth would I utilize my pheromones to suppress you?】
An unfamiliar, highly volatile emotion suddenly diffused through his chest. Like a flame burning in the dark night, it grew increasingly fierce. The exact split second it threatened to sear his heart, the man forcibly crushed it down.
He let out a cold sneer, turning his face away glacially. “Hypocritical.”
“?”
Su Miantang had no idea why he had suddenly thrown out that word.
But it didn’t matter.
She cast a glance at the surrounding prisoners with their filthy gazes and crude gestures, then looked down at the blood bag in her hand, which was slowly filling up.
【Whatever. Once the blood extraction is finished, I’m leaving and will never return to this place ever again.】
The moment her inner thoughts surfaced, a wave of baseless irritation completely swamped Tenleson’s mind.
His brow turned ferocious, his entire aura turning incredibly ominous as he reached out and abruptly yanked the needle straight out from his arm. Fresh blood instantly wells up from the puncture site.
Su Miantang jumped in fright. Terrified that the blood sample might get contaminated, she rapidly initiated emergency handling.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
“That’s enough.”
“It isn’t enough! This is barely 10ml.”
“We’ll handle the rest tomorrow.”
“…” Su Miantang could tell that he was deliberately trying to make things difficult for her again. “Mr. Esper, we had a deal. As long as Xiong San came over to kneel before you, you would cooperate with the extraction.”
“Yes.” Tenleson let out a phantom smile. “But did I specify the exact amount I would allow you to extract?”
“…”
【What a rogue. Why is he so incredibly difficult to deal with?】
The rogue in question tracked her adorable expression, which was hovering right on the verge of an absolute explosion. A trace of an amused curve touched the corners of his eyes, and his heart actually felt a hint of strange anticipation.
“I’m actually quite easy to deal with. Especially if I shift into my animal form; I can coil around you several times.”
“…”
The young girl imagined that horrific scene, and the rage within her heart instantly vanished, replaced entirely by a thick wave of anxiety.
What… What did he want to do?
Did he want to turn back into that giant python to terrify her again?
It appeared that continuing with the blood extraction today was completely impossible. She should just temporarily take this supply to rescue the children first.
With this thought, she pulled a sealed specimen bag from her medical box.
Tenleson had assumed that she would be terrified into grabbing the blood bag and fleeing immediately. To his surprise, the very first thing she did was pick up a sterile cotton ball and press it firmly against the needle puncture on his arm.
It appeared to be his very first time realizing that a tiny, superficial puncture—the kind that would automatically knit together within seconds for a powerhouse like him—actually required manual handling. He stared fixedly at her fair, delicate fingers and the cotton ball, his deep eyes turning slightly blank.
“Alright. When you shower tonight, make sure the wound doesn’t touch any water.”
Once Su Miantang finished handling it, she rose and picked up her medical box.
A few pieces of candy accidentally slipped from her pocket.
They were square and pure white.
Tenleson noticed them, reaching out to pick them up. “What is this?”
“Marshmallows.”
As she spoke, right as she reached out to take them back, his massive palm suddenly closed, nearly brushing against her fingertips.
…Since he picked them up, they belonged to him now, right? She understood.
“Marshmallows?”
The corners of the man’s thin lips pulled up slightly.
He had assumed he had misheard her name earlier.
To think that this type of candy actually existed.
The little Marshmallow was giving him marshmallows.
His gaze remained fixed on her with an opaque intensity.
Su Miantang let out a generous smile. “Consider it a gift. Thank you for donating your blood to rescue those twenty-odd endangered children. See you tomorrow.”
With that, she turned around, called out to the dazed Alan, and departed.
Tenleson stared unblinkingly at that slender, graceful silhouette until it completely vanished from his field of vision.
See you tomorrow sounded infinitely more pleasant than never return to this place ever again.
He tore open the wrapper, and the exact millisecond the flavor burst across his taste buds, his expression froze completely.
Several seconds later, he looked down at his palm in absolute disbelief.
How on earth could these few pieces of candy be this sweet? Was every single thing belonging to her this unique?
Inside the Eleventh Cell Block, the crowd of prisoners watched this absolute goddess of a female depart from the prison facility unharmed, their hearts instantly filling with a frantic, scratching restlessness.
They had assumed that their Boss was tracking her movements with the exact same savage desires as them. Yet she had been gone for a long time, and his gaze remained entirely fixed onto the entrance. An ominous premonition suddenly welled up within their minds.
The last time that hamster doctor from the medical school came, he had nearly lost half his life, getting thoroughly broken into insanity before being thrown out. Yet today, this little female had departed completely unscathed. Not only had the Boss been talking with her continuously, but he had also let out more smiles than they had ever witnessed since entering this prison.
Could the Boss have actually fallen for her?
Then they were completely finished!
They wouldn’t even get a single shred of a chance to share!
The lizard beastman cautiously inquired, “Boss, why did you just let her depart? Could it be… that you’ve fallen for her?”
Hearing the word ‘fallen,’ the curve at the corners of Tenleson’s lips instantly froze as his tone dropped into a flat register.
“Just playing around.”
