Chapter 45: The Kiss Was Too Fast, I Didn’t Like It
Shen Yuan didn’t dare cry out loud. The tears could only swirl in his eyes, his teeth biting into his pink lips until they left marks.
He raised both hands to cover his eyes tightly, instinctively hiding behind the man. He was afraid to see that gentle, sunny Guitar Gege being beaten into a wretched state.
And indeed, it was a one-sided massacre. Zhou Xuyan was no match for Yu Beikuo, who was trained in Taekwondo. Every punch and kick landed on his vital spots.
He could only cover his head, curled like a shrimp on the floor, emitting intermittent groans of pain.
Bruises covered his body, his limbs throbbed with agony, and a trace of crimson blood leaked from the corner of his mouth.
Yu Beikuo felt it wasn’t enough. Still harboring a grudge for being pushed earlier, his kicks to Zhou Xuyanâs stomach became even more heartless. He cursed incessantly:
“Dead rat! Iâll kick you to death! Pushing me?! Snitching on me?! Iâm going to make sure you remember this lesson today!”
“Stop hitting Guitar Gege! Sob…”
Seeing the swelling on Zhou Xuyanâs face worsen and seeing him unable to fight back, Shen Yuan felt both heartache and desperation. He could do nothing but scream and cry.
He tugged at the man’s arm, looking piteously at those cold black eyes, yet he still harbored a sliver of hope as he pleaded:
“Xi… Xiansheng, Iâm begging you. Make the Little Young Master stop, okay…? If he keeps hitting him, Guitar Gege will die! Sob…”
Yu Xiuqing spared him an indifferent glance. His calm voice carried a bone-chilling coolness: “Are you pleading for that wild man? Is that it?”
The little fool was stunned and immediately shook his head.
He wanted to argue that Guitar Gege wasn’t a “wild man,” but fearing he would provoke Yu Xiuqing, he could only nod repeatedly while his eyes shimmered with tears.
“Very good.”
The man curled his lips into a smile, but it was one that made oneâs hair stand on endâlike a venomous snake coiled in the shadows, ready to deliver a lethal strike at any moment.
That enigmatic expression made Shen Yuan feel an inexplicable tension. He bit his lip, staring at the man with urgent expectation, waiting with a thumping heart for what came next.
Seeing the youth show such panic for another person for the first time, Yu Xiuqing felt an indescribable mix of emotionsârepressed rage, irritability, and even a trace of sadness.
He pulled a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and took several deep drags. He blew a puff of faint white smoke into Shen Yuanâs face. Only after stabilizing his emotions did he speak slowly:
“You have to use practical actions to beg for mercy.”
Amidst the swirling smoke, the manâs face held a strange expressionâas if he were angry, yet also expecting something… perhaps even he didn’t know.
“Cough… what… what does Xiansheng want Yuanyuan to do?”
Due to his physical condition, Shen Yuan couldn’t stand the smell of smoke and immediately began to cough violently.
He could feel the chill emanating from the man, yet his legs trembled as he stood his ground. He didn’t retreat; he knew this was the only chance to save Zhou Xuyan.
Yu Xiuqing was in no hurry to answer. He took another measured drag of his cigarette, as if he hadn’t decided yet.
The sound of Zhou Xuyanâs groans and the muffled thuds of kicks against a body reached his ears. To him, it sounded like a beautiful piece of music, lighting a fire of satisfaction in his dull heart.
Through the gradually dissipating smoke, Shen Yuan felt at a loss under that deep, captivating phoenix gaze. He vaguely sensed that Xiansheng was hinting at something…
His small face turned beet red. His fingers pinched the hem of his clothes as he lowered his head shyly. His voice was as thin as a mosquitoâs hum:
“Is it… is it about having a baby…?”
Hearing this, Yu Xiuqing stopped smoking. His gaze landed on the youthâs impossibly flat abdomen. His thin lips pursed, and certain emotions surged in his deep eyes.
But he still didn’t answer the question immediately.
It was as if he were deliberately stalling, wanting to slowly appreciate the sight of the half-dead Zhou Xuyan taking his last breaths.
Shen Yuan was terrified by his silence. His heart hammered wildly, and his small frame was so tense it was nearly rigid.
If he waited any longer, Guitar Gege would be beaten to death! He couldn’t just stand by and watch him die!
He was on the verge of tears, about to open his mouth to beg the man again, but he was interrupted by the other:
“Kiss me, Yuanyuan.”
The man’s voice was very soft, carrying a hint of coaxing, yet it vibrated with intense danger.
Shen Yuan could hear it; this was a command, not a request for an opinion.
That man was always forceful.
There was never any room for refusal.
But hearing the other ask for a proactive kiss, Shen Yuan still froze in disbelief.
Xiansheng actually wanted him to initiate a kiss?!
One had to know that Yu Xiuqing never liked being passive. He always used forceful methods to take what he wanted, asserting his status and authority over others.
On the other side, Zhou Xuyanâs ears were clogged with blood, yet he still vaguely heard the man tempting Shen Yuan. He panicked instantly, squeezing out a sentence with difficulty:
“Yuanyuan… don’t… don’t agree…”
But his voice was too weak. Shen Yuan didn’t hear it, but Yu Beikuo did, and he kicked him even harder. “The dead rat still has strength to talk!”
Zhou Xuyan let out a muffled groan. He didn’t plead for mercy, nor could he resist. He only looked at the youth with a breaking heart.
There was nothing more painful than being unable to protect the person he liked. Powerless and without status, he was only left to be slaughtered.
“Mister Yu, I…”
Shen Yuan stammered, his face flushed. He looked at the tall, handsome man before him with unease. He wanted to refuse, yet he didn’t know how to say it.
He had never heard such a request!
He was afraid he didn’t know how to kiss and would leave Xiansheng dissatisfied, which would only lead to Guitar Gege being beaten even harder!
No! He couldn’t do it…
“I won’t say it twice.”
The man was clearly losing his patience.
Shen Yuanâs heart jolted. He swallowed nervously and summoned all his courage to look up at the man.
Looking at that face that was still cold and heartless, his heart jumped to his throat in a moment of inexplicable fear.
Yu Xiuqing just stared at the youth expressionlessly, wanting to see if he would actually do it.
He anticipated Shen Yuanâs initiative, yet he loathed that this proactive kiss was being offered to save another man…
His gaze deepened. He could feel his own heart beating fast and strongâa sign that he was trying to break free from some invisible shackle, yet he remained unable to escape this internal turmoil.
To save Zhou Xuyan, Shen Yuan forced himself to stand on tiptoe. His hands nervously circled the manâs neck, his slender body leaning forward slightly to press against the manâs chest.
The tobacco scent in the manâs breath made Shen Yuan feel a bit suffocated. He frowned in discomfort but didn’t dare flee.
His lips slowly moved toward the otherâs, then he cautiously pressed his cool lips against the manâs…
This action made his heart leap. His cheeks burned hot, and a wave of heat surged through his body.
Yu Xiuqing slowly closed his eyes, wanting to feel the youthâs unrefined kissing technique. But less than two seconds after touching those two youthful, thin lips, he pulled away.
This kiss was a mere brushâa “peck on the water.” It carried a hint of greenness and shyness, and though it was done with great care, it held little love or softness. It felt more like a forced chore.
Yu Xiuqingâs heart skipped a beat. He felt a trace of panic and frustration, as if something he had never cared about had suddenly developed feelings for someone else…
Even his only proactive kiss was so brief. Before the entanglement could even begin, it was over. It was as if he were just completing a mission, with no emotion whatsoever behind it.
He frowned, looking at the blushing and flustered Shen Yuan with great dissatisfaction. The hand on the boy’s waist suddenly exerted force, pulling him deeper into his embrace.
Shen Yuan lost his footing and fell against the broad chest. Looking up at the gloomy, handsome face, he panicked and tried to pull away, but was held tight.
Guitar Gege was still being bullied, yet here he was, hugging and being intimate with Xiansheng. It was simply shameful!
Yu Xiuqing pinched his jaw, forcing his wet eyes to look at him. His voice was deep and husky:
“Too fast. I didn’t like it. Do you not know how to kiss someone? Or do you need me to teach you? Hmm?”
“I… I can’t… I don’t know how…”
Shen Yuanâs eyelashes were laden with tears. He shook his head while biting his lip, his tears falling incessantly as he pleaded:
“Iâm begging you! Please stop making things hard for me… Iâve already kissed you. Xi… Xiansheng promised me just nowâas long as I kissed you, youâd save Guitar Gege!”
Hearing this, the man let out a cold laugh. He leisurely stroked the boy’s burning cheek, his tone incredibly malicious:
“Heh, Yuanyuan is truly simple. You believe whatever I say? Silly thing, I lied to you. Did you really think Iâd show mercy and save a piece of trash who has filthy thoughts about you?”
Hearing those words, Shen Yuan felt as if he had been struck by lightning. He stood frozen in shock for several seconds.
Then, he began to sob belatedly. His eyes were flooded with tears. He raised both hands and began to pound on the man’s chest with all his might, crying and cursing:
“Sob, sob! You… you lied to me! Xiansheng is a b-big bad person! Iâll never believe you again!”
Not far away, Su Huaiyao, who had run over full of joy, happened to witness the man he loved being kissed by that fool. He even saw the boy piteously clinging to his Xiuqing-gegeâs chest!
He was instantly furious. He rushed over in a rage, yet he couldn’t just reach out and slap Shen Yuan. He could only weep in grievance, asking in disbelief:
“Xiuqing-gege, what… what are you two doing…”
Seeing his beloved arrive, Yu Xiuqing quickly pushed the small thing in his arms away. He smoothed his clothes and asked, feigning nonchalance, “Xiaoyao, why are you here?”
Shen Yuan fell straight onto the floor. His head accidentally struck the coffee table, leaving him dizzy and seeing stars.
Su Huaiyao looked at the wretched youth on the floor and cursed “serves you right” in his head. He then held the man’s arm and said:
“Today is Yu-çˇçˇâs longevity birthday. Iâm going on stage to play a piece to celebrate for him. I wanted Xiuqing-gege to go and support me, but I didn’t expect to see…”
“Don’t misunderstand, Xiaoyao. I have no relationship with that fool. He was the one who just seduced me.”
Yu Xiuqing explained without changing his expression. A gentle smile hung on his lips, though his eyes were so “sincere” it was ironic.
