Chapter 81: The Bathroom
Chi Yuheng was clearly stunned for a moment. His furrowed brows relaxed slightly, and the resentment in his eyes dissipated instantly.
He repeatedly replayed the words Ye Ran had just spoken in his mind, constantly confirming whether there was any misunderstanding.
“You said those words were about me?” he asked again.
Ye Ran buried his head and gave a muffled “Mm.”
There was no misunderstanding at all; it was exactly what he thought.
The corners of Chi Yuheng’s originally tense lips curled up slightly, and he first let go of Ye Ran.
His voice sounded no different than before, “If there’s a next time, see how I’ll deal with you.”
Ye Ran couldn’t help but grumble inwardly. Next time? He’s already been dealt with quite miserably this time.
Chi Yuheng’s bed had been turned into a mess by Ye Ran’s previous tossing and turning. The sun hadn’t set yet, so it wasn’t time to sleep, but it still needed to be tidied up.
The drunkard on the bed, having just been lectured, was now lazily burying his entire self into the quilt. It was clear he didn’t want to move and was waiting for Chi Yuheng to wait on him.
Ye Ran had been like this since he was a child. After doing something wrong and getting scolded, he would wear a pitiful expression, making Chi Yuheng occasionally wonder if he was the one who had done something wrong instead of Ye Ran.
However, business was business. Although Ye Ran had made up some full-of-holes nonsense earlier, that one sentence—”I was talking about you”—instantly melted all the fire in Chi Yuheng’s heart. He was in a good mood now.
Chi Yuheng went to the bathroom to draw the hot water. When he came out, Ye Ran finally poked his head out of the quilt. Having stayed in one position for too long, he squinted and turned his body slightly.
His eyes were still a bit dazed; obviously, the alcohol hadn’t fully worn off.
Chi Yuheng walked to the bedside, leaning over with one hand propped beside him. “Go take a bath. Are you going yourself, or should I carry you?”
Having already been carried over his shoulder today, how could Ye Ran let Chi Yuheng hold him again? He scrambled and flailed a few times to sit up from the bed. “I’ll go myself.”
Ye Ran went to the bathroom to shower. Chi Yuheng tidied the bed outside. After waiting for a few more minutes, even the sound of water in the bathroom stopped.
Chi Yuheng walked to the bathroom door and called out toward the inside, “Ye Ran.”
There was no response from within.
He raised his volume and called again, but the result was the same as before.
Chi Yuheng didn’t wait any longer and directly twisted the doorknob to enter.
The bathroom was still filled with warm water vapor, mixed with the faint fragrance of body wash.
The water in the bathtub was still steaming slightly, but Ye Ran hadn’t come out of the water; his whole body was soaked in the tub.
His upper body was slumped over the edge of the tub, his head tilted on a folded towel. His eyes were tightly shut, and his breathing followed an even, shallow rhythm. Apparently, he had been unable to resist the drowsiness halfway through his bath and had fallen straight asleep.
Because of his posture slumped over the edge, most of his back was exposed. His fair skin was steamed to a faint pink by the vapor, and droplets of water slid down the lines of his shoulder blades, finally disappearing into the pool of water.
His waistline rose and fell gently with his breathing, and a bit of unrinsed body wash foam still clung to his skin, like tiny milky-white pearls, exuding an unconscious softness.
Chi Yuheng shook his head and sighed softly.
Other people fell asleep while soaking; Ye Ran was different—he fell asleep while in the middle of trying to get out.
Perhaps the towel draped to the side was too soft, making him feel like it was a pillow the moment he touched it, resulting in him falling asleep right on the edge of the tub.
Chi Yuheng lightened his footsteps and walked over, crouching by the bathtub.
He looked at Ye Ran’s sleeping face. His long eyelashes were lowered, and the tip of his nose was slightly red. Probably because the soak was a bit hot, his lips also possessed a watery pink hue.
He looked very kissable.
Chi Yuheng’s Adam’s apple bobbed slightly, and he slowly curled his lips.
Forget it, he would play the villain one more time.
Chi Yuheng supported the back of Ye Ran’s neck, leaned over, and his thin lips gently pressed against him.
He restrained himself, not daring to use too much force, only lightly taking Ye Ran’s lips into his own, his tongue occasionally sweeping over that patch of watery pink.
Perhaps because this gentle touch was too comfortable, Ye Ran let out a soft whimper in his sleep. He didn’t wake up but instead slightly parted his lips, as if responding unconsciously.

By the time Chi Yuheng carried Ye Ran to the bed, he had already dried him off in the bathroom.
This was truly a strenuous task, and President Chi had expended quite some effort.
Ye Ran was all clean, but Chi Yuheng was covered in sweat.
While the other person was asleep, Chi Yuheng turned around and went back into the bathroom.
After a quick shower, he changed into a loose bathrobe and came out, only for Ye Ran’s blurred voice to drift from the room, “Chi Yuheng…”
Ye Ran didn’t know if he was dreaming or if the alcohol was surging again.
Chi Yuheng lightened his steps, walked over, got onto the bed, and leaned in close to him. His fingertips lightly touched his cheek as he responded in a low voice, “Ye Ran, I’m here.”
Ye Ran still had his eyes closed, but halfway through calling him, his tone suddenly shifted.
“Chi Yuheng, you bastard…”
Chi Yuheng: “…”
Considering Ye Ran was sleeping, he resisted the urge to take action.
Even though Chi Yuheng let it go, Ye Ran seemed to have turned into a chatterbox in his dreams, talking non-stop. “Chi Yuheng, even a turtle isn’t as much of a scoundrel as you.”
“Your technique isn’t good, I’ll teach you~”
“I learned a lot from videos last time…”
Chi Yuheng’s gaze darkened and darkened further.
Suddenly, Ye Ran opened his arms and hooked them around Chi Yuheng’s neck, as if wanting to hang his entire body on him.
Caught off guard, Chi Yuheng was pulled forward, and just like that, a “human pendant” was added to his body.
Furthermore, this “pendant” was not well-behaved. The hand around Chi Yuheng’s neck moved forward, pulling open the front of his bathrobe.
The front of the bathrobe was pulled open mostly, revealing the skin below the collarbone, carrying the warmth of having just finished a bath.
Chi Yuheng’s breath hitched slightly as he looked down at Ye Ran hanging off him.
After this series of operations, Ye Ran seemed satisfied. He opened a slit of his eyes, curled his lips slightly, and slapped Chi Yuheng.
“Not behaving, are we? Go to sleep.”
Chi Yuheng: “…”
Just who is the one not behaving?
Chi Yuheng repeated to himself countless times: Ye Ran is just dreaming, just dreaming.
He cooperated and lay down beside Ye Ran, but as soon as he lay flat, the “little pendant” on him seemed to have an automatic navigation system, accurately rolling toward his direction.
The next second, Ye Ran pressed himself against him. One side of his body pressed heavily onto Chi Yuheng, and his head naturally rested on his shoulder.
When people are asleep and especially when drunk, their movements are mostly without restraint.
Ye Ran’s press was not light. If Chi Yuheng hadn’t been prepared and propped himself up a bit to offset the force, he really would have been pressed into letting out a grunt, and might even have suffered some “internal injuries.”
Chi Yuheng sighed helplessly and reached out to wrap his arm around Ye Ran’s waist.
But before he could move, the person beside him tangled onto him like a vine.
